TOBY'S TACKLE BOX: The Adventures of Four Magical Lures

:: MATTHEW'S UPDATE :: 4th March :: World Glaucoma Week 2021

Kirk Pengilly will be back on Studio 1 next Wednesday. I'm interviewing him on Monday. If you have questions for him, tweet me @WhingeingPom or call/text 0433 827 211

Matthew Layton presents Studio 1 – Vision Australia’s weekly look at life in Australia from a low vision and blind point of view.

This week is World Glaucoma Week….

Matthew talks to Kirk Pengilly of INXS about how he nearly lost his sight to glaucoma at the age of 29.

And we talk to former chef and now children’s author Jen Gierens about the morning she woke up to find she’d lost the sight in one of eyes. Permanently.

Matthew also visits ophthalmologist Dr Simon Phipps and gets his pressures taken for your listening pleasure.

And Matthew consults the show’s emotional guru registered counsellor Tammey Candeloro of Counselling 4 You WA for her very personal perspective on glaucoma. She was diagnosed with it at the age of 18.

The purpose behind this show is to get you to be aware of your own eye health. Please check the resources below for more information.

Please do get in touch with the show – either to tell us your cautionary glaucoma stories or to point out subjects you think we should cover in future shows.
