Life is full of frustrations and the Apostle Paul addresses seven reasons in our text why the Christian does not have to be frustrated. We need to have an eternal perspective in this life. And Paul opens with the great truth that our present sufferings are not worthy to be compared with our future eternal glory!
Love is the single greatest aspect of the Holy Spirit. The same love that flowed from the heart of Christ has been poured into our hearts and the Lord commands us to love one another the way He loved us.
God has stirred a love in our heart for his law and we are to treasure His word day and night.
In this weeks message we will be looking at the need for a continual filling with the Spirit, the grieving , the quenching, & the sowing to the Holy Spirit in your life.
The sins we think we get away with bring grief to the heart of God. Malachi was called to rebuke and restore the people of God because of their sin against one another and the Lord.
We must understand that sin is not the boss of us anymore. We have a new Daddy, our Heavenly Father, who now by His Spirit has redeemed us giving us freedom to obey Christ and empower us to do so by His Spirit.
Paul is telling us that we must live a surrendered life unto the Lord which requires the denial of ourselves.
The holy life God has called us to live cannot be attained by the keeping of the law. Holiness doesn't come by keeping principles but by the person of Jesus Christ.
Last week Paul reminded us that we are dead to sin, now Paul exhorts us to live according to our identity in Christ presenting our bodies to the Lord.
Last week we learned that you can't out sin the grace of God. In this weeks study Paul informs us that we should no longer live as slaves to sin. The flesh is good for nothing except to be put to death. And every believer in Christ needs to know that sin's power has been broken over your life.
When we were still in our sins, God at the perfect time sent His Son into a Roman ruled, Greek culture to be the sacrifice for our sins & fulfill many prophecies.
There is no better blessing than the gift of God's free salvation. Walking with Jesus by faith gives you access to God's grace, glory, and more 24/7.
Our salvation is based on a sure promise because it has already been done. You can't add to the blood our Savior shed on the cross for us and the sins He has bore for us. All that is required of us is to believe by faith and receive the free gift of salvation.
An Easter Sunday message reminding us of the importance of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
After declaring the whole world as guilty sinners before God, Paul turns the corner now to present to us how we can become Righteous through faith in God's Son Jesus Christ.
The Apostle had accused the Heathen as guilty sinners & then the Hebrews, but now he heaps all humanity together & accuses them all as guilty sinners in need of salvation.
Paul takes the Jews to court & reveals to them that they will not avoid the wrath of God just because their physical privileges such as ancestry, the covenant of circumcision, etc.
The greatest problem of humanity is the wrath of God. Ungodliness always leads to greater wickedness.
The greatest calling is to be a bond servant of Christ & Paul presents himself as such in his opening greeting & love letter from God's heart to the believers in Rome.
Pastor Isaac Medina shares with us the importance of giving every part of our life in surrender to the Lord. Once you have tasted and seen the goodness of the Lord nothing in this world compares. The safest place is in God's perfect will for your life.
The will of God is not always a safe journey! The enemy is trying to prohibit the will of the Lord.
When someone is willing to die for something there is not much that you can do to stop them. Paul was willing to do just that for the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The simple gospel message can change a life when we simply believe. The Lord desires for us to be in a state of continual surrender. The more we say no to the gospel the harder our hearts become.
In today's lesson we learn the importance of listening to the Lord and how we should pray. Habakkuk was praying for God to revive the people of Israel, even through they were deserving of judgement.
It is no coincidence that God is in the details. We can see God even in the little things. He hears our every cry and He wants to reveal himself to you.
In chapter 1 of Habakkuk we see a warning concerning the nature of the self centered life. God alone knows who or what will be the most effective to break us and humble us. It is better that we first humble ourselves before the Lord chooses to humble us.
In today's study, the Apostle Paul shares his testimony to a mob of Jews in Jerusalem expressing his past life under the law, but now a new man in Christ Jesus. However, Paul's life is threatened once again and after being bound, he declares his Roman citizenship sparing him from a more severe punishment.
We must continually walk in humility because God can humble anyone who he chooses. You reap what you sow and corruption cancels all strength.
Paul faces persecution from the Jews in Jerusalem as he preaches salvation by grace alone and through faith alone.
The Lord knows those that trust in Him and He is their avenger. Pride goes before destruction.
Paul ends his 3rd missionary journeying from Miletus to Caesarea all the while being warned that chains & tribulations await him on the way to Jerusalem, but he is unmoved desiring only to finish his race & ministry to preach the gospel of grace.
Isaac Medina details the key identifiers to rejoicing in the Lord! "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God" Philippians 4:6-7
Paul knew the enemy would oppose him in every city he went to preach the gospel. Paul's endurance and character showed to be honoring to the Lord despite the storms and trials that were brought his way.
God takes Israel to court & gives evidence of His grace throughout Israel's history, despite their continued sin against God. In this study, despite Israel's disobedience God shows He is willing to forgive their past rebellion & show mercy if God's people would confess & repent of their sin.
In today's lesson we learn the importance of being self controlled and alert. The enemy is prowling like a lion seeking to devour those who are spiritually asleep.
Letting God interrupt your plans and preparation isn't always easy. As a child of God our lives are in the hands of a Creator who knows much more than we do. Being sensitive to the Holy Spirit is always the best decision. He knows what's best according to His will and not ours. Even though circumstances may seem rough the Lord may be protecting you or moving you in a new direction for the better.
Jesus came to His own yet His own rejected Him. Jesus desires a relationship with you that is wholly surrendered unto Him.
Paul learns that not everyone will receive your witness. Just as Paul was about to give up, the Lord encourages Paul to simply shake it off and keep pursuing the great commission.
Are people an opportunity or an obstacle for you? Paul saw people as an opportunity to share Christ and revival began to impact the pocket book of the people.
He knows the beginning and end of all things. He knows what lies ahead of you tomorrow and He has His best interest in store for you. Be full of the power of the Spirit of the Lord.
In order to grow in the Lord we must give up the things of this world and wholly surrender unto Him. Desire to be continually growing in your heart for the Lord. Lay aside the things that do not honor Him.
There will always be times in our life when we don't feel like worshiping and serving the Lord. In order to continue running the race we are called to we must rest our faith on the word of God instead of our emotions.
Jonah was displeased at the mercy of God. God reveal's to Jonah that people matter more than plants.
As long as there is breath in your lungs God wants to use you to change the world! Be thankful that our God is a God of second chances!
After three days being swallowed by the great fish Jonah finally swallows his pride & repents
The place of suffering is truly a place of power. In times of suffering the Lord can intimately reveal Himself to us. His power is made perfect in our suffering. What characteristic in your life draws people to the Lord? Paul and Silas had every reason to complain in their suffering yet they praised the Lord joyfully!
