Mark Legacy is a true polymath as well as a hands-on inventor focused on solvingcomplex problems for a world in need of climate change solutions with an environmental justice focus. His work has spanned the construction industry, having worked as a carpenter, mason, builder, and welder as well as a blacksmith.
For 8 years he was a competitive cyclist until a motor vehicle accident left him with a permanent disability. He had to quit college due to not being able to afford the tuition. But he could afford a library card! and reimagined his future. He embraced mental work and began the many related studies that would help confirm the proof of concept for his future inventions. Without formal training, he devoted himself to research and development within the marine energy storage, design and structural engineering industry culminating with a patent granted without prior art in 2014 for Humpback Hydro, a long duration pumped hydro energy storage solution (US 8823195-B2).
