This is episode 2 of season 1 and I want to talk about surviving chit chat and small talk as you get together for the holidays or any time you are expected to team build, boondoggle, summit or gather at work, with family or at church.
There are Benefits to Gathering * Getting together is not always bad simply because it's draining. We shouldn't deny ourselves the opportunity to grow, nor deny others the opportunity of the gifts God has given us. * Remember how amazing you are. You have a lot to give, not just at Christmas, but every day. * If you're traveling, enjoy the surroundings God has provided for you.
Prepare! * When is your next get together? How many do you have this week? This season? Are there any that are okay to send a regret? * Self care and caring for others * Be yourself and play to your strengths.
Succeed * Hope Notes * Meet ahead of time with the organizer * Talk about causes near to your heart * Compliment people
It's always the right time to lift others up. It's always the right time to be a light. And you don't have to be recharged to do it, nor do you have to put a spotlight on it. But if you know you are going to be in this situation, and if you venture out in December - you will - there are things you can do to avoid being a crab-butt during your next holiday or social gathering.
