As Rome began it's decent, the "powers at be" needed to keep the peace, thus the free grain (bread), and the entertainment in the form of chariot races, theatre, and the gladiators (circus). The idea was, give them just enough to eat and keep them occupied, they wouldn't look around long enough to see how screwed they were, and they wouldn't revolt against the elites.

Could we make the case with the government handouts, social welfare, and entitlement programs, combined with the endless 24/7 cycle of news, social media, sports and entertainment, that we too are missing the bigger issue.

There will be no return to normal, and the storm will not pass, and the train is destined to fall off the tracks, soon. Will you be ready?
