In Today’s episode I will break down why most people can’t and won’t get to the next level.
Don’t get it twisted the next level isn’t always the booming bank account or the really nice car you want. Sometimes the next level is just taking the next best step or making the next right decision. For most of us that maybe the people we thought we would all retire with and share our entire life with that we may need to get away from. See ending a friendship is one thing or even separating yourself from the wrong crowd, but identifying a taker is totally different battle.
Takers have existed since the beginning of time, let’s be clear our country was founded based on this word alone. Unlike those times where my ancestors didn’t have the power that we have today. We each posses the ability to not only assess one’s character but to determine if we are dealing with takers and to take action.
When you look up the definition of the word Taker the dictionary defines a taker as a person that takes a specific thing. Look if you come from where I come from you immediately think about robbers you know people pulling jack moves. In most cases if you are involved in a situation like this you either give it up or risk immediate bodily harm. As an adult a person who works and wants so much out of life takers present themselves in a variety of ways.
Now it clearly states in the dictionary that a taker is a person that takes a specific thing, it doesn’t always mean money, clothing, food or jewelry. The takers in your life could specialize in taking things that are much more devastating. When you sit down every year and you map out your goals and plan everything out how many times do you look at the people around you and say I may never get to these goals with these same people taking up my time, emotions and energy? Takers are hard to identify believe me I come from the hood where relationships are based on “loyalty” but the truth is as I’ve gotten older and experienced a lot I’ve realized that the word loyalty molded me and many others to be prone to friendships that would involve taking.
When you pray for things to change you don’t always want certain things to change. Like you want the success and money and personal development to take place around the same people and in a similar environment that put you in that mess! God wants to bless you as a matter of fact he’s going to bless you but not until you get away from the takers.
How to identify a taker?
Are you always giving ? I don’t mean monetarily it could be emotionally or physically maybe you’re always giving this person a free ride. When it’s time for you to put your greatness out do they ever give to you or do they have too much going on or let me guess they want you to hold it for them? That’s a taker! Get away from the takers and your life will go to the next level.
