This week's podcast finds Mark Peterson down in Mexico chasing the elusive Carmen Mountain Whitetail. Discovered in 1940 and named after the Sierra Del Carmen Mountains of northeastern Coahuila Mexico, the Carmen Whitetail mirrors the Coues white-tailed physically and biologically. Small in stature but aggressive by nature mature Carmen Mountain Bucks average 104 pounds on the hoof. The trip started out getting up high to glass the range below looking for any mature bucks to go pursue. After three days of glassing and putting miles on Mark was able to find a buck on a doe and snuck into a good position to take the shot.
