technically anyone can get infected and spread monkeypox, but several health authorities across the world, including the CDC, is advising the L. G. B. T. Q. Community to be extra careful. This comes as some health officials at the W. H. O. And in europe say that a big fraction of monkeypox cases recorded in several countries have been among men who have sex with men either gay or bisexual. That concerns experts that perhaps the viruses mode of transmission may have changed. But then again, it's hard to tell if the virus was transmitted through sexual intercourse itself, irrespective of the sexual orientation of the people or if it was transmitted because naturally sex requires intimacy and physical closeness to the other person and so they may have touched blisters on the other person's body. For example, in spain, there was a major L. G. B. T. Q event that had some 80,000 people attending. That's one theory why the virus may have spread in the community. The CDC held a news conference about monkeypox today because L. G. B. T. Q. Pride month events in the US usually starts around the end of May for now. It's hard to know exactly how high the risk is for the community. But some public health experts say monkey pox is no covid in that it does not spread through the droplets in the air and that's somehow reassuring. But if the virus has changed significantly for any reason we may be against a different challenge
