US officials warned that the country could see as many as 100 million covid infections and potentially a wave of deaths this fall and winter. The Washington post reports that these remarks came from a senior biden official today during a background briefing where the biden administration is trying to make the case for more covid funding billions of dollars for more vaccines, therapeutics and testing these bleak projections point to the already circulating omicron sub variants, which seems to be better equipped to bypass immunity like we spoke yesterday. If an unknown sub variant emerges in the future, things may change depending on how dangerous it is. This dramatic infection number also takes into account waning immunity from vaccines and loosened or non existent covid safety precautions.
