A new study found that people who get severe Covid infections may see a drop in their I. Q. And mental abilities for months after infection. Welcome back to the show, I'm Farah Yousry. The study, coming out of the University of Cambridge in the UK, looked at dozens of patients and found that the impact on some of them was almost equivalent to aging 20 years, and no that doesn't mean people get wiser or anything. Researchers actually likened the aging to what happens between the age of 50 and 70 years of age, which is when some people's mental acuity may be affected and they get slower. You know, it seems that the more severe the case of Covid is, the more likely patients experience those cognitive problems, which goes to say that a vaccine or a treatment that can give you some immunity and make your Covid case less severe may very well decrease your chances of this cognitive decline. That's it for me today. If you have any questions I'd love to hear from you. See you tomorrow.
