Roughly 15 million adults suffer from social anxiety disorder and I unfortunately am one of those adults. this is black boy lessons with cam social anxiety disorder can be a lot of different things, it can be fear of being assertive during conversations, it could be anxiety that you experience in certain social settings, different rooms that you are in, it can kind of show up in a lot of different ways and for young people, we don't allow ourselves to kind of tap in with our emotions when certain traumatic experiences happen in social settings. For me this past summer, it really came to a alarming level when I would try to go out, I would try to be social, but I noticed that like something just always felt off and I was starting to get very anxious and I was kind of starting to have micro panic attacks to the point where I had to seek help. So I started to talk a lot about my experiences with my therapist and with the conversations that she and I had had, we came to the conclusion that I struggled from social anxiety disorder and I really think a lot more young people suffer from it as well, but they don't know how to acknowledge it, they don't know what to look for. So, my lesson that I want for people to take away from this episode is it is so important to protect your mind and to listen to your body when the universe is trying to tell you that something is off, most likely it is
