Our second episode features Dani Lanouette and Ronald Gamblin, two 4Rs staff members and youth who are community organizers and educators in different ways and capacities. In this episode, Roland, Dani & Ron tackle unpacking the stigma around lateral violence and the struggles that exist within communities surrounding lateral love. We talk about trauma-informed care and discuss histories that contribute to our struggles. 

ABOUT THE GUESTS: Dani Lanouette is a queer Two Spirit Anishinaabekwe from Neyaashiinigmiing and Algonquins of Barriere Lake. Born and raised in Ottawa, Dani now lives on Treaty 4 territory in Oskana ka-asastēki (Regina, SK). Dani has been doing community work in different capacities for the last decade and works at 4Rs as the Communications and Community Care Manager.

Ronald Gamblin is an Anishinaabe and Inninew young person born and raised in Winnipeg, MB, Treaty 1 and has familial ties to places such as Cross Lake (Pimicikamak), Pine Creek (Mina’igoziibiing) and Pic Morbert (Netamising zagigan). Ron holds many roles in his community. He’s a community organizer, drummer, a facilitator, an older brother, and a bit of a self-described rowdy guy. Ron is currently the National Learning Community Coordinator for 4Rs.
