Sermon Series: Cross Over Our guest speaker, Phil Barnes, reminded us that true salvation leads to sanctification. We are progressively made holy as we cooperate with the Spirit of God in our lives. God is faithful, and He will finish the work of sanctification. Our role is to actively say no to sin and strive to live a holy life.
Sermon Series: Cross Over Guest speaker, Randy Hoffman, shared about the beautiful aspect of reconciliation in salvation. God, through Christ, has restored us into a right relationship with Himself. As sinners, our relationship with God is broken. But God moved first by sending His Son to die for us. Our response is to receive this reconciliation with joy and then tell others about it.

Guest speaker, Adam Hockley, spoke about our anointing as an aspect of our salvation. In Old Testament times, prophets, priests and kings were anointed with oil to be set apart for God's special purposes. When Jesus came, He was anointed with the Holy Spirit to proclaim good news and perfectly fulfill the roles of prophet, priest and king. As believers, we too are anointed by the Spirit of God at salvation to be set apart for God's work in the world.

Guest speaker, Doug Loveday, spoke about the adoption aspect of our salvation. In Christ we are adopted in God's family, accepted in the beloved and adored by our good Father. At the fall, humanity rebelled and ran from God, and the rest of Scripture is the story of God wanting His kids back and providing a way for us to be with Him. As believers, we are not just forgiven, we are family. And we are also coheirs with Chist. We have an inheritance coming and we will one day share in His glory.

Guest speaker, Matt Robinson, talked about what it means to be justified in salvation. We stand completely guilty before God, the righteous Judge. But in His infinite grace and mercy, as our guilt was credited to Christ on the cross, He gave us His righteousness. Now we stand before God clothed in the righteousness of Christ.
Sermon Series: Cross Over Guest speaker, Kris Konig describes the amazing gift of forgiveness we have in Christ. Every person is born with a sin nature, separated from God. We have missed the mark of the glory of God. But through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is available to us. God cleans the dirt of our sin and erases the debt it causes. His mercy is freely given to those who repent. This causes us to praise God and extend forgiveness to others.

In salvation, God has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of light. We were unable to rescue ourselves, enslaved by the god of this world. As we consider what we've been rescued from and the inheritance that is ours in the kingdom of light, we respond with joyful gratitude.

Our teaching pastor, Gary Goodkey, spoke about conversion from John 5:24. This verse says that those who have experienced genuine salvation have crossed over from death to life. The first humans Adam and Eve, lived in the presence of God, experiencing His blessings. But when they chose to rebel against God's commands, they moved out from under His rule and blessing, choosing independence. Every human being born since them has a sin nature and are under the wrath of God. To move back into the presence of God and experience His blessings, we need to put our faith in Jesus Christ, trusting in His saving work for us on the cross. When we do this, we will cross over from death to life. Will you make this decision today to trust in Jesus?
Easter Sermon
Gary Goodkey, our teaching pastor, reminded us of the good news of Christ's resurrection. We are to passionately pursue Jesus Christ and His kingdom, constantly centering our minds on Him. We do this because the ultimate reality is that Jesus is seated on a throne in the heavens ruling over the universe, our identity is that we are raised with Christ, and our destiny is that we also will appear with Him in glory.

Adam Hockley, a guest speaker, spoke about the power of faith from 1 John 5:1-5. Those who believe Jesus is the Christ are born of God. And those who are born of God, obey His commands and love His children. They also overcome the world by the power of faith.

Our Managing Pastor, Andreas Dimond, reminds us of God's infinite love for us. We are commanded to love others, because God is love, and God has first loved us. As we think about all of the definitions the world offers for love, let's define agape love this way: Love is the sacrificial giving of oneself for the good of another with eternity in mind - originating from God, empowered by the Holy Spirit and modelled by Jesus.

As believers, we ought to be discerning about the messages we hear because every message has a spirit behind it. Our teaching pastor, Gary Goodkey, talked about assurance of salvation from 1 John 3:19-24. When we know that we are God's children we know that we belong, our hearts are at rest, we are free from condemnation, and we have confidence before God because we know His Spirit lives within us.
Sermon Series: Life Source Our teaching pastor, Gary Goodkey, spoke about true love as it is described in 1 John 3:11-18. First, God's word commands us to love one another, love our neighbour, love the foreigner and love our enemies. But we are unable to do this on our own. Thankfully, second, life in Christ supplies love. Finally Christ's death defines love. The cross is the ultimate demonstration of love. Through Christ we can love others as God has called us to love.
Sermon Series: LIfe Source Our teaching pastor, Gary Goodkey, outlined the story of redemption in 1 John 3:4-10. In these verses we see a dilemma: sin. Everyone is a sinner. We have rebelled against God, choosing to live independently of Him. We also see a villain: the devil. Satan seeks to undermine God's glory by encouraging humanity to live in rebellion against God. We also see a hero: Jesus. Jesus appeared in our world to talk away our sin and to destroy the works of the devil. Finally we see a climax: salvation. Jesus invites us to follow Him, and He makes us righteous. Will we turn from our sin and do right?
Pastor Gary Goodkey challenges us to consider if we truly understand what it means to be God’s child and to be transformed by His perfect love.
Guest speaker Darcy Dueck (Citizens Church Elmira) encourages us to stand with clarity and confidence in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to abide in Him!

Guest speaker, Kris Konig, spoke about how to grow up in the Christian faith as we long for the deeper things of God. The Apostle John encouraged his readers in 1 John 2:12-14 by reminding them that they knew the Father and the Son personally, their sins had been forgiven, and they had overcome the evil one because the word of God was in them. The same encouragement is available for us today. Christ is inviting us to a life of incredible adventure as we are transformed more and more into His likeness.

It's important to test authentic faith to awaken those who are not genuine believers and to provide assurance and encouragement to those who are. Gary challenges us to examine our lives with two tests of authenticity: obedience and love.

Our teaching pastor, Gary Goodkey, encourages us to walk in the light. From 1 John 1:5-2:2 we see that God is light, and we are to be energized and fueled by the presence of God in our lives. But we are sinners and in desperate need of atonement. Thankfully Jesus saves sinners and acts as our Advocate with the Father. As we renounce the darkness and step into the light, we are fueled by divine light and are transformed more and more into His likeness.

In the story of Zacchaeus, we learn that Jesus actively and lovingly searches for those who are spiritually lost. Jesus offers not just existence, but a life filled with purpose, joy, and spiritual abundance. Contrasting Jesus as the "good shepherd" with false leaders depicted as thieves who "steal and kill and destroy," the sermon highlights that true fulfillment is found exclusively through Christ.

By following Jesus, individuals can experience the "light of life," meaning they will not walk in darkness but will have the guidance and illumination that comes from Him.

Gord Martin, our guest speaker, preaches from John 6:38: "For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will." Jesus' mission was to accomplish the Father's will, particularly in providing salvation to humanity. We are encouraged to emulate Jesus' example by aligning our lives with God's will, fostering a deeper relationship with Him, and understanding that true fulfillment comes from surrendering personal desires to embrace God's plan.
