The topic of money can be a contentious one. Money is a necessity in order for us to live, and thus, it impacts everyone, no matter who you are. The problem is that it has the ability to help some while hurting others.

Some of us are working and making a minimum wage that is far too small to be able to live on. We are fighting for a living wage that aligns with the cost of living in the state we live in. Many of us are fighting for pay equality and to eliminate the pay gap across gender, sex, race, and ethnicity.

These are just a few of the many problems that are in need of fixing when it comes to the conversation of money. Daily life, retirement, healthcare, etc. Money touches and impacts every aspect of our lives. Unfortunately, the problems we have with money in society today won't be resolved over night. Fortunately, there is slow progress being made.

With the acknowledgement that not everyone may be able to, there ARE some things we can do as individuals in order to save money and create personal wealth, for those that have the privilege to do so. Here are just a few:

  • Work with a financial planner
  • Develop a budget
  • Manage spending
  • Live debt free (pay off loans, purchase only items we can afford, etc.)

And while money is not a fun or easy topic, we need to keep talking about it and continue educating ourselves.
