It's a common stereotype that men have a hard time listening. While it's true that some men may struggle to listen attentively, this behavior is not true for all males, nor is it exclusive to only males.
In most cases, the reason for poor listening skills lies more in individual circumstances and personality traits than gender. It could be due to distractions or disinterest, lack of practice or skill, or even a fear of vulnerability that makes active listening difficult for some people. Many times, these reasons are due to experience and circumstances. There are also societal factors such as toxic masculinity that discourage emotional openness and communication skills development for males.
It's important, no matter the person, to work to address the challenges and actively put in the work to learn how to be a better listener.
