Stuart Dew has experienced AFL from two different perspectives, A player and a coach. Stuart Dew played AFL footy for Port Adelaide and Hawthorn. Stuart Dew then become an assistant coach at Sydney before he moved to Queensland to take on the role as head coach at Gold Coast from 2018 to present. He has several achievements such as 2x AFL premiership player (2004,2008), Port Adelaide Leading Goalkicker (2002), SANFL premiership player (2000).
