My true liberation began by daring to consider new possibilities. I started this phase of the Conscious Creators process when I was 45 years old. I discovered that what I suspected to be depression or an onset of mental illness was actually my mind becoming invested in its own ideas. As a result, I was growing rigid and cynical. I was becoming resentful of an ugly truth that was insidiously making itself at home within my mind. Of course, this truth was only in my own mind. It was not some natural law or inescapable fate. Oh, no! This so-called truth was my own prediction based upon 40 years of habitual patterning.
Throughout the years I had created disappointment after disappointment. I sabotaged many opportunities. As a result, I convinced myself that there was nothing else in store but more of the same. There were no new possibilities. My cynical mind had become a tyrant of intolerance. What I had once only suspected to be the ugly truth was growing into an outright certainty. I had accepted that I was capable of certain things and incapable of other things. These self-imposed limitations applied to every facet of my existence.
My mind became preoccupied with attributing meaning to people, places and things.
There is no room for newness when someone lives in such absolute certainty.
This is an example of the deadly progression that plagues the unconscious creator.
