Weekly sermons from Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) at the University of Nebraska. At RUF we believe that you're never so bad that you're beyond the reach of God's grace and at the same time you're never so good that you're beyond the need of God's grace.

We kick off our series on the Sermon on the Mount by considering who the speaker of the sermon is. Why is Jesus' authority good news? Why do we have such a problem with authority?
We look at the Ten Commandments and ask the question: "what sort of people are we supposed to be?"
In the Passover the LORD shows Himself to be the Just Judge and the Gracious Deliverer, and He shapes His people as they experience Him in the Passover ritual.
Who is the Lord that we should obey his voice? He is the divine King. He is the Creator God. He is the saving God.
In this text we learn that God is both holy and committed to his people. This is a tension that runs through all of Scripture and is ultimately resolved in the person and work of Jesus.

10/8/20. Jesus shows us that in the Kingdom of Heaven, God gives great power to the small and unseen things.
10/1/20. Do you struggle with prayer? Jesus shows us here that prayer is a response to our God who is both friend and Father.
9/24. In this sermon we ask the question "where do we turn to find the approval we long for?" I am indebted to Rev. Richie Sessions' (from RUF Vanderbilt)sermon on this same passage.
9/17/20. Jesus tells a story about security to an insecure audience and teaches them and us where to find lasting security.
9/10/20 We continue in our series focusing on Jesus and His parables and we look at the Parable of the Soils which is more commonly known as the Parable of the Sower. We recognize that the different soils represent different heart responses to Jesus, and we ask ourselves what soil our hearts are most clearly aligned with.
9/3/20. We continue looking at the parable of the two lost sons and learn we're far worse off than we think but far more loved than we could ever imagine in Jesus.
8/27/20. This week we look at the famed story of the prodigal son. We hear about the younger son and his quest for the good life by breaking all the rules and learn "you're never so bad that you're beyond the reach of God's grace."

God's mission is to bring joy to the world, as far as the curse is found, and we participate in it by singing praise and telling others.
