This episode is one of our favourite episodes so far, we’ve been wanting to release this episode for some time now and we have tonnes to talk about. With the boom in dating apps we are often speaking to multiple people at once, which ups the probability of being ghosted. If we’re honest the terminology of ghosting is fairly new to our vocabulary, it seems that the fast paced nature of the dating scene has left us in the position of ghosting people or being ghosted. There is a massive scale when it comes to ghosting, it could occur in the early stages of talking to even a few months down the line. In this episode we are joined by Aaron Roach Bridgeman as we talking about the 21st century ghosting phenomenon.
There’s a phrase that’s often used when dating and people say ‘you’ll find someone when you’re not looking for it’. Although manifesting doesn’t necessarily mean you are looking for it, you’re visualising and vocalising what you want in a partner. In this episode we give further insight into how to manifest your partner and how to get into a mindset where you can attract someone into your life. We spoke to Kristina who gives us the 101 on all things manifesting.
If you’re into the topic of manifesting make sure to download her free dating workbook https://cantgetatextback.com/

Joel Corry and MNEK are onto something with their single ‘Head & Heart’. When it comes to decision making the head and heart offer conflicting advice. The heart is aligned with feelings and the head often showcases the more logical reasoning. In the dating game there may be moments where we are stuck and not sure whether to follow the head or heart and in our latest episode we discuss what the head and heart mean. We talk about our experiences, as well as what to do when you’re caught in the head and heart dilemma.
We are easing out of Lockdown, which means we can begin to go on dates again! If you’re a bit lost when it comes to choosing places to go, we have you covered. It’s been twelve months since Boris Johnson put the UK in a nationwide lockdown and it has had a massive impact in many areas of our lives. From March 2020 to where we are now, the lockdown has not only impacted our views on dating but the way we date. In this episode, Nayha and Remina reflect on the last year and talk about what they’ve learnt and their experiences. From adapting to a more virtual dating world to how some lockdown introspection allowed them to reassess their views on dating. We were also joined by our previous guests who sent us voice clips of what they’ve have learnt.
Similar to friends, family plays a massive role in our lives. It can often cause conflict when there is a disagreement and the family disapprove of the person you are dating. It might be because of a superficial reason, such as they don’t like the way the person looks/ presents themselves. Or it could be more deep routed within their personality and they may pick a fault in their values or personality. In our episode we discuss the weight of family opinions and how it can impact the dating experience and relationships.
Rejection comes in many forms and when it comes to love, it can often hurt the most. Whether you’ve been rejected or you’ve rejected someone else, it can be difficult being on either side. This week we talk about our own stories when it comes to rejection and we are also joined by our guest Daisie Belle.

The same can be said for taking a break from the world of dating and re-emerging in the dating pool may cause some hesitation. In the latest episode, we talk to dating coach Arti Joshi and we discuss how to get yourself out there after a break-up and how to navigate yourself back into the dating game after a break.

Friendships play an integral role in our lives, but what happens when your friends don’t like the person who you’re dating? It’s a massive dilemma as you begin to question whether you should trust your instincts or listen to your friends. The phrase too many cooks can spoil the broth comes into play as sometimes when you hear too many opinions it maybe becomes overwhelming and makes it harder to view the situation. We are joined this week with Andi Osho to discuss the topic and talk about her recently released book ‘Asking For A Friend’.

Dating is difficult, let alone dating in a pandemic. The last 12 months has changed the way we date and it’s a completely new territory and we are learning as we go. Dating during the pandemic means that we need to change the way we interact with people and our life is dependent on the restrictions that are in place. Luckily with the advancement of technology, we can virtually date and still connect with people via texting and phone and video calls. Some people find dating in the pandemic impossible but others have had success! This week we discuss the topic of dating whilst in a pandemic with Am Golhar.

When going on a date, especially the first date, who should pay first, or should it be split evenly? For decades it was often the man who paid first but its 2021 and makes this topic even less clear cut. Do we think it’s romantic for the man to pay or if we are striving for equality why do some women expect this? Why do men tend to offer? This week we sit down with Mark Jarvis to discuss one of the most universal topics when it comes to dating.

‘Sorry, unfortunately I didn’t feel a spark’. That sentence can end the prospect of a next date in a matter of seconds. The use of the word ‘spark’ is really ambiguous and could mean many things and it often leaves the person thinking ‘what did they mean by a spark?’ Did it mean that I was unattractive? Does the person not like my personality? Is the person using ‘spark’ as an excuse to soften what they really think? All these thoughts can cloud our judgment over one simple word. In the latest episode of Dating Dilemmas Podcast, we speak with Kaylee Golding about the ‘spark’ and what exactly that ‘spark’ is.
“We need to remember you won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but someone out there will love your tea” - Kaylee Golding

Growing up in a multicultural society our country is a melting pot of different cultures. People from a variety of different ethnicities are becoming more open to sharing a life with someone from a different heritage as theirs. Sometimes family dictates who we should be with and it’s even it’s seen as a taboo to be with someone from a different race to yours. This week we have spoken with Matt Cadman and his wife Esha who are in an inter-ethnic marriage and we speak to them about their experiences.

Life is all about balance, but trying to make that balance is easier said than done. Sometimes a lack of balance when dating could mean a power shift when dating and the dynamics may change when one person may seem to have more of the power. Another factor that may throw the power shift off course is when one person has different priorities to the other person. One person may prioritise a career and the other person could potentially feel redundant in the relationship. In this episode, we combine the topic of power shift and career verses relationship with guest Faris Stingrai.

The dating landscape has changed dramatically over the last few decades. The development of technology has allowed us to open up the dating pool and meet via apps rather than in person. We’ve become so accustomed to seeing people’s faces on apps we often assume a narrative about them even before we speak to them. It’s natural to judge a book by its cover but has this ultimately prevented us from meeting the ‘one’. We sat down with Nikita Kanda to talk about first impressions and making assumptions about people when dating.

So you’ve finally managed to land yourself a person that you see a future with, but how do you know when it’s the right time to make it official. Every situation is different and some are slow burners and others are ravishing fires. The length in time to make the relationship official can vary from a couple of weeks to almost a year. This week Remel London joined us on the podcast to have a chat with us to discuss when is it the right time to go official with the relationship.

We talk about it this week with Joe Forrester, to help debunk the stigma around it. You’ve met a person online and they seem like they tick all your boxes. The problem is that you have a feeling that something is off. Are they postponing meeting up or avoiding video calls - you might have a catfish. It could also work the other way around, you may ‘enhance’ your photos to the point you get viewed as a catfish. You have to kiss a lot of frogs whilst dating, let’s hope it’s not a catfish. We are joined this week by Calum Di Lieto (and his cat) to talk about the world of catfishing.

Often when dating we completely neglect the importance of being single. We can become so wrapped up in wanting to find a partner, we begin to neglect ourselves. In this weeks episode, we sit down with presenter Hope Ellen to talk about life being single and how it influences our mindset when it comes to dating.

Dating can be complicated and game playing (no, not video games) whilst dating takes it to the next level. It can often lead to mixed messages and ultimately lead to getting hurt. Playing games comes in many different forms, this includes being hot and cold with your behaviour, purposely taking ages to respond to messages or even leading the other person on. This week we talk with Holly Wren and have an interesting chat about the topic.

Romcoms often include characters that have a long list of ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’ when it comes to dating. Sometimes the list can lead them to what they want, other times it would stop them from meeting someone completely. The topic of deal breakers is really subjective and can often fall into two categories, which include ‘serious’ dealbreakers and ‘trivial’ ones. This week we’ve invited Joel Billington onto our show to join our discussion.

The proverb ‘absence makes the heart grow fonder’ implies that some time apart might be a good thing. What if the factor is distance and you are in a dating situation where you are physically absent from the person you are dating. Especially during the pandemic and lockdown, this theme seems more relevant than ever. Does the distance make the foundation stronger or can the distance shatter the dynamics of a relationship? We are joined by J Fresh where we speak about the topic of long-distance dating.
Music: www.bensound.com
We’d like to think we are all super in tune with ourselves and that we would immediately notice when we start to see the red flags from the person we are dating. The truth is often the complete opposite and we begin to get tunnel vision and start to dismiss the red flags. What are red flags exactly? What should we be looking out for? In the episode this week we sit down with Jen Wakefield to discuss the topic in depth and give you the insight into what to look out for.
