Life-work balance, often referred to as work-life balance, is the equilibrium or harmony that individuals strive to achieve between their personal life (which includes activities such as family, leisure, hobbies, and personal well-being) and their professional or work-related responsibilities and commitments.
In essence, work-life balance is about finding the right blend between one's career and personal life to ensure that neither aspect overwhelms or negatively impacts the other. It involves managing time, energy, and attention effectively so that individuals can meet their work obligations while also enjoying a fulfilling personal life.
Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is important for several reasons:
Achieving work-life balance can be challenging, especially in today's fast-paced and demanding work environments. Strategies to improve work-life balance may include setting boundaries, prioritizing tasks, effective time management, delegating when possible, and practicing self-care. It's important for individuals to assess their own needs, values, and priorities and make adjustments accordingly to strike the right balance for themselves.

3 Steps To Recover Trust1. Identifying the source: The first step towards recovery from trust issues is to identify the source or cause of these issues. This could be a past traumatic experience, a pattern of negative experiences, or other underlying factors such as childhood experiences or mental health conditions.2. Communication and Self-reflection: Open communication with trusted friends, family, or a therapist can help in gaining insights and understanding of one's trust issues. 3. Self-reflection and introspection can also help in identifying patterns and triggers of distrust.Building trust gradually: Re-building trust takes time and effort. It involves small, consistent actions that demonstrate reliability and transparency. Building new relationships, practicing forgiveness and letting go of past experiences, and engaging in activities that promote self-care and self-esteem can also help in the process of regaining trust.--- This episode is sponsored by 路 Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/trulypivotalmoments/messageSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/trulypivotalmoments/support

What is the first thing that you think about when you read the title of this podcast? 聽Exactly the opposite of what we will talk about (only for some of you, I know). 聽Not "using" like abusing, but "using" like utilizing the benefits of a real and proven friendship. 聽The intentional friendships you build are to be used. 聽This is a benefit, not the sole purpose for investing in a friendship. 聽We will break this all down today and even challenge the relationships in our lives. 聽Are they friends? Or maybe they are actually acquaintances. 聽Today on Truly Pivotal Moments.

Ok, so the relationship is going unbelievably well. 聽You've had a bit of time together, faced some challenges, grew through some experiences. 聽But then THAT comes up. 聽Either it is revealed or "discovered" by your own research or a caring "friend" mentions it. 聽You're torn. 聽What do you do? 聽It is so hard to believe and so opposite of who you believe this person to be. 聽It's decision time. 聽This is a very pivotal moment. 聽Let's talk about this today and consider some things on Truly Pivotal Moments.

Have you ever behaved emotionally during a very challenging situation at work? 聽Have you ever "told someone off" because they had it coming? 聽Ever act out of character while driving and become some Road Warrior? 聽Well, I'm sure we have all experienced these things, but afterward, we feel embarrassed or ashamed. 聽Or we discover something about the personal life of the individual we have been gossiping about and we realize why they act the way they act... 聽聽Have you ever experienced the forgiveness of others when you have acted in an unusual way? Well, there's always more information than we know about: 聽Their history, their current situations, or just their inability to build relationships or handle pressure. During this podcast, we will talk about these things and about some real examples in my life. 聽There will be a lot to consider well and, hopefully, you will be able to respond to these common circumstances in a respectful and responsible way.

It is often an outburst during a very tense and emotional time, "You are causing this relationship to fail!" 聽Very painful words to hear and of course, we know that both people in the relationship need to shoulder some of the responsibility for failure. 聽However, there could be things that you ARE doing that could actually cause failure in your relationships. 聽I know, I know... 聽you keep picking the wrong type of woman or the wrong type of man.. etc., etc.. 聽but YOU are the common factor... Uh oh, right? 聽 In reality, we spend more time researching our next vehicle than our next partner! 聽In a vehicle, we look for things like reliability, warranty, reviews, and history of that particular make/model. 聽We ask our friends and coworkers for their opinion and we have to even consider the cost. 聽Shouldn't we at least consider these things before getting into a serious relationship? 聽Well, we will talk about these things and much more, today, on Truly Pivotal Moments.聽

Whenever we have trying times or we realize that we are in unhealthy patterns, destructive relationships, or a toxic environment, we need more than "coping mechanisms." We need more than learning how to "survive" the situation. 聽We need more than awareness. 聽We need real steps to position us, real techniques that work, and real changes in our emotional and relational health - even if we cannot leave the toxic atmosphere we're in. 聽This podcast is designed to help you through these genuine situations and circumstances... to rise above your emotions and implement a framework for a new way of living amid the toxic atmosphere. 聽 We cannot change our family members or coworkers as we may want to. 聽Running away is rarely the solution. 聽And yet, we do not want the side effects of these, "less than perfect" unions to continue to affect the other relationships we want and need in our lives. 聽Take a listen to this podcast. 聽If it helps you, great! Leave us a message and let us know. 聽If you think others can benefit from it, share it with them. 聽Either way, do not stay the same. 聽Begin the changes to help you go beyond coping!

So many things challenged us in 2020. One thing we can all take away from it is that "Floods Happen" in life. Disasters occur. Not just in that other country or region, but in our lives. What happens when you see destructive patterns in a friend's life? Well, you want to tell them about it, right? But, what if they won't listen? Then you have an intervention. Ok, but what if they deny it and get angry with you? I know I know, but it happens and it can really test the commitment of friendship. It's hard to see people you care about hurting themselves and taking more and more unnecessary risks. But if you are a true friend, you will find a way to communicate this to them. Someone once said, "You can't trust anyone but yourself!" Ok, I can tell that the author had been seriously hurt to come to this conclusion. But I have deceived myself and lied to myself and convinced myself that everything is ok - when it wasn't! So, before you go all out to "help" your friend, consider what role you may have been playing. Are you having the same patterns? - because it is easier to point out someone else's problems when you have the same things going on in your life. If you can really say that you are not having the same issues, then try talking with them one on one. If it is not received, talk with another one of their close friends or family to see if they have a history of these things or if they also see the problems arising. The goal is to get the friend to see that if more than one person who cares about me sees these things in my life, they may be true. Let's talk a little more about this today on, Truly Pivotal Moments.

D茅j脿 Vu? 聽Ever feel like you've been in this exact moment before? 聽Well, it's called D茅j脿 Vu. 聽This is, of course, a French word meaning, "already seen". 聽It is a crazy and kind of cool experience that we have from time to time. 聽But what about when it's not cool, only crazy? 聽I mean when you say, "How did I get back in this situation again? 聽You can have this feeling with tension at work, or in your finances, or even in your relationships. 聽Here's the thing... when it happens at work, you can blame a number of things there: 聽the boss, your co-workers, the company, the clients. 聽When it happens in your relationships, you can blame a number of factors caused by the other person or people. 聽But when it happens to you aside from these things, it's a harder pill to swallow. 聽 We set patterns in our everyday life that we often miss unless we have another perspective or opinion. 聽In this episode, we will look at how many patterns we establish actually affect our relationships. 聽We can break the cycle, but we have to see it first. 聽We will discuss this dynamic today on Truly Pivotal Moments.

SKILLS are developed when you take these things seriously... Not too seriously, but with intention and purpose. 聽Seeing someone you want to know more about is ok. 聽Realizing that you cross paths often or go to the same coffee shop is not a form of stalking!! 聽Wanting to cross paths more often means that you are interested in them. 聽So, interact with them. 聽It's not that difficult, there are a number of ways you can "break the ice" and initiate getting to know someone. 聽We discuss these things and describe common scenarios for both men and women meeting both male and female potential friends. 聽Then we share how to introduce yourself. 聽聽All of this with the agenda of making FRIENDS... nothing else. 聽If your agenda is anything else, the other person will sense it and it may be creepy and unwelcome. 聽Even if the other person accepts an intimate interaction, you will be trying to build something on shifting sand, instead of on solid ground.聽

A house is not a home. 聽It may look like a place where people live, but is it a nourishing, growing, protecting environment? 聽When you step into a house, you may see the rooms designated, but are they "lived in"? 聽Is the atmosphere palpable? 聽Does it feel safe? In this episode, we consider the relationships we have and the ones we need. 聽We also think about what type of person we are: introvert (those energized by time away from others, or extrovert (those energized by interaction with others. Looking at each relationship in our lives presently can we see "load-bearing" friendships as well as other friendships that help us to grow and develop? 聽Are the roles of others clearly defined and understood or are they more like extras in a movie?聽 Lots to consider, I know. 聽This episode is not conclusive, just something to consider which may help you to give purpose to those you interact with on a regular basis and intention to those interactions.

Transitional Relationships: 聽Relationships that only last for a relatively short time. 聽They seem real and are often so enjoyable. 聽However, they are gone as fast as they came, or they do not last as long as we would have liked. 聽These either "are" or can be considered transitional relationships. 聽Sure, sometimes this is just a coping mechanism to repackage relationships of old. 聽But think about it. 聽We have several jobs before we settle into a career. 聽We will have many more relationships before we have ones that last and matter more. For whatever reason, the relationship is over - without announcing it or declaring it. 聽You may still work around the other person, but something has definitely changed. 聽聽Instead of using this to fuel insecurities, just realize that it was transitional. 聽See all that you learned and keep the sensation of all the good times, etc. 聽Do not the good memories away or deem them insincere. 聽You are the one deciding how this will be filed in your life. 聽It was a transitional relationship. 聽 Let's talk more about it. 聽If you want to comment or ask questions, please leave me a message here on Anchor.tv/trulypivotalmoments or you can send me an email at trulypivotalmoments@gmail.com

Ants:聽
On the counters Looking for food and/or water Organized and Visible Send out "scouts" before the "platoon" Must destroy the nest (source) and take away the desirables to eliminate. Wipe clean the path to get rid of the "scent" trail.
Does any of this make sense when it comes to people in our lives that are... well, pests? 聽聽Interestingly enough, this example can apply to people or A.N.T.'s 聽(Automatic Negative Thoughts [Dr. Amen]) 聽We are not responsible for our thoughts, ideas, or suggestions. 聽It is what we do with them that matters and creates consequences that we are responsible for.聽 Whether it is the people in our lives that are taking, taking, taking in a very organized and deliberate way. 聽Or whether it is our thought life that also is taking, taking, taking our joy, and sense of purpose. 聽聽These things must stop! 聽But we have to learn to see them before we can address the issue and get to the core of the problem. 聽Control the food, control the pests. 聽Let's talk a little bit more about these things...

Considering all the people we interact with every day, we can see that there are many things working against good, healthy, fruitful relationships in our lives. 聽Seeing the negative/counterproductive connections as "pests" may help us to engage in better, more intentional ways. 聽This will decrease the amount of "pests" in our lives and open the opportunity for more prosperous connections. 聽

When we are camping, we enter into an entire ecosystem. 聽We are alert to how we interact with this system. 聽But we want to keep most of these things outside. 聽We do not want the majority of these things inside our tent or our home. 聽In the same way, when we are outside the home in our workplace or in other places, there are all kinds of people around us. 聽We do not invite or welcome most people into our homes, but we have to coexist with them every day outside. 聽Occasionally we will bring a pest home from our outside world or we invite them by our actions, habits, or lack of attention to detail in the little things. 聽We need good habits at home to prevent these pests from taking up residence. 聽We also need a lifestyle that prevents attracting these things inside our private lives. In this series, we will take a look at some common household pests (briefly) and some potential relationship "pests" that can affect us the same way. 聽We will also look at steps to prevent these invaders including having others around us to alert us to these critters and how to get rid of them once and for all!!聽

How do you find a good man/woman? 聽What things should you look for? 聽How can you really know a person before getting into a relationship? 聽How can I avoid having a rerun of my last relationship? 聽 These questions and a few more are addressed directly and indirectly in today's podcast. 聽Remember, if you keep having the same experience in relationships, YOU are the common factor. 聽Unless everyone is secretly meeting and all of your past partners know each other and have been scheming to treat you the same way, you are the one consistent thing in each relationship. 聽So, ask yourself, "What am I doing to attract this type of person?" "What am I doing which may be bringing this character out of my partners?" 聽You have full access to YOU, so you are more likely to get answers to these questions. 聽 Taking the time to get to know someone before committing to a relationship is so important. 聽Getting to know their friends says a lot about the person you are interested in since we like to surround ourselves with people who support who we are or people who are the same way we are. 聽Introducing them to your friends and getting their opinion can be very useful since your friends know you better than you know yourself sometimes! Meeting their family members is also a great way to gauge the person you are interested in. 聽Asking them directly about their life experiences in relationships and while growing up can be very useful. 聽It wouldn't hurt to ask them what they want in a relationship or what do they think would be an ideal relationship. 聽And, finally, allow the newness of the relationship to soften up a little. 聽When things are new, they can be very exciting. 聽It can be hard to see them as they really are. 聽It is also hard to see any warning signs. 聽

"Where did you learn to look at things this way, Johnathan?" 聽Well, there's a deeper, more meaningful reason than what I share here. 聽I have shared this reason with a few of you one on one. 聽However, one of the pivotal moments that still affects the way I see things is shared and I hope it will be helpful to you. 聽It just takes one thing to "click" and then you never see things the same again. 聽There's also a comment at the end from a listener and friend, Matt. 聽Please stay tuned to the end to hear Matt's message he sent using this app. 聽I encourage everyone to do this, it really means a lot to me and all the listeners, I'm sure. 聽When we get together and share, our lives change. 聽I want to change WITH you! 聽聽Please leave an audio message and thank you for sharing these podcasts all around the world!!

A multi-segment Episode. 聽Each segment will be 5 to 10 minutes long comparing weed growth to desired vegetation in the garden of your relationships. 聽Some weeds look like the plant we want to grow!! 聽But once it is established, it drains the nutrition from the soil and affects the other plants nearby. 聽This is why we need to look at and identify any weeds in our relationship. 聽We need to plant a good crop of veggies and tend to it unto fruition. 聽Share and tell your friends if it is helpful. 聽

So many things to consider when faced with challenges in life. Even after we come out of our artificial roles, we have challenges and need to learn how to deal with those challenges in a very real way. It helps us to learn from our experience and lean into the challenge. Having a group of established friendships In our lives helps us to grow in these situations.

Whether we realise it or not, we are all playing roles to a certain degree in our young adult life. Some of us continue to play roles our entire life. We don't know who we are! This is not only tiring but it is not the way life is supposed to be. Let me share how I discovered that I was playing multiple roles and what I have learned from this process.

Wow. So many podcasts on relationship here and in other venues! I had no idea. Just searching the word, "relationship", I found a lot of podcasts. But when I sampled a few of these, I found emptiness. There were the professional, fully credentialed, but casual and cool counselors. There were many people just throwing opinions or lists at listeners, " Top 8 Ways to Have a Great Relationship" etc. And then there were the "Why Men Cheat" series and everything else down that road. I do not want to be a part of that sea of madness. We do not need more theory or opinion-laden episodes. No more rich hosts giving everyone a car! I would like this podcast to be interactive and real. So, I'm changing it up. Hopefully, you'll change it up with me馃槉

What can we learn about people and relationships from plants? Well, plants need a certain atmosphere to SURVIVE and another atmosphere to THRIVE! Relationships whether casual acquaintances, family members, or spouses also need a specific balance in atmospheric conditions in order to succeed, maintain, and be fruitful!

What really matters when life comes to an end? What do we think about or consider when the reality of the brevity of life is experienced? It is most likely not about seeing our fancy car one more time or even holding our trophies. It is usually the consideration of what we did with the relationship opportunities we had. Did we make them, develop them, and protect them? Or did we pass up the chance and destroy the possibility?
