We journey together, through the good times and the bad. Community is joint participation. We should be sharing the load with each other.
Community is more than just coming to church on a Sunday. It's getting involved, interacting with others and supporting others as best we can.

As Pastor Chris continues our series - Canvas, he looks at the idea that we win with our words.
Your words can lead you into victory. But words have also been weaponised. We have a choice when we use our words. We can tear down and destroy, or we can encourage, build up and see breakthrough just by the words we choose to use.

Pastor Josh Edwards from Eastlake Church delivered a powerful word on building a healthy church. If we strive for generosity, neediness will not be a part of our community. We should be building the church on Jesus.
Generosity, unity and Jesus at the center of it all is what a healthy church looks like.

Certain things are timeless. An example of that for us as Christians is the bible. It's a very old piece of text but when you engage with the scriptures, you can still find the heartbeat of God.
As we remember Pentecost Sunday, let's remember to be unanimous, to stand together and to listen to the Voice of God.

Pastor Claude unpacks a passage of scripture in Proverbs and how it can relate to our live and walks with God.
The gardens that are talked about in this scripture can be likened to our spiritual lives. Some people have weeds growing. They haven't taken over the whole garden yet but if there's no action taken to uproot those things, then they might take over. Pastor Chris delivers a powerful message as we launch into 2021. The time is now to have a fresh encounter with God. Whether you're new to the journey of faith or you've been walking with God for years, take ahold of new altars in 2021.

Pastor Rob Nyasvimbo launches Awaken City into 2021 with a powerful word. 2020 may have been hard, but those rough times set up 2021 to be packed with powerful testimonies of God's goodness and His faithfulness.
This word is a timely reminder heading in to the fresh year that we should be praying constantly. We need to stop relying on the pastor for our spiritual substance and take on the responsibility for ourselves.

Just as Eli sent Hannah to go in peace, God calls us to go into the world and share God's peace with everyone.
In 1 Samuel, we read how Hannah was discouraged with her current season. You might be finishing 2020 with a sense of discouragement, but just as Hannah cried out to God and gave her frustration to Him, we can do the same.
God can take our frustrations and our discouragements and He can give us the desires of our heart.

Christmas has looked very different this year in 2020. But the message has not changed - We celebrate the birth of Jesus who was sent to Earth to redeem Mankind from sin.
Just like the physical presents that we receive this year during this time, we need to completely unwrap the gift to receive the full blessing of it.
That means allowing God to completely take ahold of your life to use you for the plan that He has.

As we head in to the Christmas season, it can be easy to get caught up in the busyness of organising presents, baking for the family and more. This is a timely message to remind us that Heaven dwells in us.
The enemy came to steal the joy from us, but we need to remember that we are Heaven on Earth, we can be the light in the dark for those around us, we just need to make that choice.
Carolyn Carrello

God expects us to Heavenize Earth through the power of prayer.
Pastor Claude continues our Heaven on Earth theme talking about how we are like an extension chord - merely a conduit for the power to pass through.
We can choose to be like John, fearful of judgement, and not able to move beyond previous mistakes, or we can be like Peter, who jumped out of the boat to meet Jesus, willing to face judgement for his mistakes but move into a new day.

God wants us to finish 2020 strong - it may not have gone to our plan, but when things don't go to plan, God has another plan.
Vicki Simpson launches our new series Heaven on Earth, by talking about the fact life doesn't always go to plan. But if we put our hope and trust in God and His plan, then He will bring us through to the other side of whatever situation or circumstance it is that we are going through.

God wants to breakthrough on your behalf. The narratives that stop us from experiencing God's breakthrough power is the internal dialogue of "There's nothing I can do".
To overcome this - resist. Resist the work of the enemy in your life. Resist anything that will take you off the path that God has laid out in front of you.
Just like David came before God to receive his breakthrough, we should do the same. Press in and believe.

We are called as Christians to reach people and help them discover Jesus. This requires intentionality.
When we meet people that aren't Christians, we should be the example for them, the shining light in a world of darkness. They should be able to see Jesus through our character and the way we carry ourselves. That means that we shouldn't be 'Sunday Christians' or acting one way at home and another way at work, our lives should carry the Good News of Jesus.

Ps Claude unpacks the four faces of God found in scripture, and how we need to be looking at scripture to find our identity in Christ, not our shortcomings.
The four faces of God have a spiritual meaning, but also a practical meaning, and both apply to us. Spiritually, these faces represent Kingship, service, intelligence and divinity. Practically, they represent Pushing, remaining planted, the price we pay and praying.
Just as these four faces represent God and His character, they are also found in each and every one of us.

What does it mean to go to church in 2020?
As Pastor Chris continues our series 'I Believe', he talks about what the church looks like today, and what it means to belong, and play apart in the local church.
Jesus spoke about this when he referred to the Ecclesia - which means assembly or congregation. What it means to be the church today is to represent Jesus to those who don't know Him, so that simply by the way we conduct ourselves, those around us will be attracted to the Church and the message of hope that we carry.

Faith must be activated, switched on, and acted upon.
Ps Claude spoke about activating faith, and letting God take care of what you think is out of your ability.
Time and truth heal, and whether the situation you're in is great, or terrible, God can still use it to bring blessing. We need to have closure and acceptance mindsets and remember that in life, pain is inevitable, but suffering is a choice.
John 16:33

Just as Moses positioned himself on top of the hill with his hands raised, God wants us to position ourselves with our hands raised to surrender in prayer, our hands out to commit to relationship, and our hands under to resource the work of God.
Ps Claude continues our series 'I Believe' this week with a powerful message based in Exodus 17, focussing on the importance of our hands and what we can do both practically and spiritually.

We live in a world of unbelief. Where the narrative is embraced, not the truth. Even when the narrative is debunked, we are left skeptical.
Ps Claude launched our new series 'I Believe' with this powerful message about the truth of the Gospel. Ps Claude talked about 6 pillars of truth that we as Christians can look to, when confusion sets in and we don't know what to believe.

We have to become unfamiliar with what we've become familiar with, and vice versa. Jesus was unable to perform miracles in His hometown because the people that lived there were familiar with Jesus, which hindered their ability to receive.
God never stops working, but we have a tendency to build walls that means we might not experience what God has for us.

Pastor Rob continues our series 'Heavenly Encounters' by digging in to Luke 1.
The Word of God can mess up your plans, much like Mary and Joseph becoming pregnant with Jesus.
Sometimes and encounter like this means you have to change what you do and hang around with. It's beneficial to find someone who's going through something similar to you or someone who was been through what you are going through.

God encounters can transform us and give us vision, purpose, direction - healing and hope.
As we continue our Heavenly Encounters theme, Ps Carolyn talks about two encounters that changed her life.
A real encounter with Jesus leads to radical change in intimacy with your Heavenly Father. You need your own encounter with God, this will allow you to grow more intimately in your relationship with God and allow Him to use you to impact others.

When was your last encounter with God? There has never been a more opportune time for you to encounter Him. When the anointing of God gets up and on you, you have authority over demons, supernatural authority in prayer and healing power.

God desires for us to produce fruit, in all areas of life. When we’re attached to the vine (Jesus), we produce fruit.
“Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
REVISIT – The Calling of God. The dream of God. RESOLVE – Solve or end a problem or difficulty. RELEASE – Give freedom or free movement to someone or something.
Everyone deals with doubts, fears and worries, but we can CRUSH them when we remain in Jesus! Claude Carrello 26th July 2020
Jesus spoke to 3 main groups of people - The Crowd, The Religious, and The Disciples. There's nothing wrong with being relevant, but when that interferes with the Kingdom of God, then there's a problem.

Instead of listening to voices promoting fear, Jesus said we should keep HOPE and JOYFUL ASSURANCE.
We learned some keys on being alert and spiritually present to what’s happening around us, not sinking our heads in the sand. And in the midst of it all, to stay positive and joyful!
Be enthusiastic AND positive at the same time - enthusiastic for negative things will lead us astray. Claude Carrello 12th July 2020
Often we are looking to the NEXT thing, but God is wanting to do a NEW thing!
NEXT thing: a continuation of the former thing done differently.
NEW thing: a significant shift that changes the course, function and character of something.
“See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you.” Isaiah 42:9

We're launching in to a new theme - Code Red, which focuses on the words of Jesus. Always being on fire for God and the things that He has called us to do is imperative. Get it through surrendering in prayer, keep it by guarding your heart with the Word, and stoke it by doing what Jesus says - Code Red.

The Israelites were forced to stay indoors in their day. There's a lot of parallels between their situation and ours in our current season. Jesus modelled for us how we should be responding now - be at peace, and if we can't be at peace, then we need to speak to the storm.

If you find yourself loosing momentum in life, ask yourself, am i living a surrendered life? Every circumstance is an opportunity to live for God. We know that through the Word of God, we have already won the victory through Christ, but sometimes we don't see the win. We need to be the people that visualise the win.

People with a sense of destiny have vision, discipline, self esteem, courageous faith, resources, drive, and vital relationships. It's important to write down your vision, so that it doesn't get clouded over by circumstances or other people, but make it clear so that you can run with it.
