The Kiwi Innovators's Podcast: Recent Episodes

Sean G Muller

New Zealand regularly punches way above its weight class in innovation, technology and startups. In this podcast, I want to provide a forum for technologists and innovators in New Zealand to speak to the world. In addition, I want to bring world-class technology and innovation leaders into the technology and innovation space in New Zealand so that we can rapidly learn and grow and continue to outperform the rest of the world.

This was a really great interview. Eugene is a fountain of knowledge on AR/VR/XR and all things virtual world. His knowledge of the Social Media and content generation world is great. I really enjoyed this talk and it made me even more optimistic about the future of the virtual world. Also, this episode has more external links than any other I have done to a factor of 10, so check out the links below.

This is a very special interview and episode for me. Jason Kappen and I not only went to boot camp, MCT, SOI, and were deployed to 2nd LAI and Desert Shield/Desert Storm together, but he was the best man at my 1st wedding, he is the godfather to my children and the namesake of my oldest son. But more importantly, he has spent a 30+ year career turning marines into leaders. His insights into what works and what doesn't are hugely valuable. He has also seen the evolution and deployment of new technologies into a 'huge' public organisation and the adoption and adaption of a 245-year-old organisation into the modern era. He would be an unprecedented asset to any organisation and the fact that he has decided to help prepare the next generation of military leaders through the JROTC program is a credit to him. I hope the organisation and students know what a great man they have.

This episode I am cross-posting an interview I did on a truly great Podcast by Rumi Chavez, 'Jump Out of Bed'. I got to sit down with Rumi and Naomi Tae, a champion for Enterprise Design, and we talked about Enterprise Design, Enterprise Architecture, what the future holds for New Zealand and many other things. It is well worth a listen and so are all of the 'Jump Out of Bed' podcasts so subscribe to them as well.

Welcome back to Kiwi Innovators, sorry about the month-long hiatus with the lockdown and everything else going on it has been a bit hectic. But the wait was well worth it. This interview with Jono Luk

Senior Director, Webex Applications and Integrated Collaboration for Cisco Systems is particularly on point in these times of remote work. Especially the discussion on remote healthcare.

This is a great interview with Asa Cox a serial entrepreneur and CEO and Founder of Arcanum.AI and other AI companies. Asa provides both a look at what startups look like from inside but also what AI can and will do for enterprise businesses. In the current environment, Covid19 lockdown, Asa talks about what startup and AI development are doing.

Arcanum is doing some really cool things including building the AI behind the NZ Police Digital person 'Ella'.

This interview is from back at the beginning of March, pre-baby for me, and pre-pandemic and lockdown for the rest of the world. But I think the topics and discussion we had was still valuable and in some ways even more relevant. Rajesh is a Distinguished Engineer at IBM and an as-a-Service champion and I always look forward to learning something from him when we talk.

I am hoping to get caught up editing podcasts but I also am recording new ones, in quarantine, that I am hoping to bring forward.

My apologies both for this being a short podcast and for it being late. I am backing off of my podcast schedule to fortnightly until after my wife gives birth, as she is my primary podcast editor.

This week I talk about technology adoption for business and the challenges and pitfalls. Technology adoption needs to be a business and technology team co-work to get it right.

My apologies for not publishing this last week, work and family took up my editing time but here it is.

I ramble on in this episode about Enterprise Architecture, frameworks, high-level designs, detail-level designs. This is from the trenches so I am surer that some will disagree with my approach and I take an iterative approach so it is always growing and changing. So send me feedback, good or bad.
