I was keen to have Emma on this end of year podcast as I wanted her to share a astrological forecast and she did just that! There is a wealth of information in this conversation from giving us a contextual framework from 2021, to forecasting what we can expect in 2022 and the numerological significance of next year.
Much of what she shared had me thinking about it for a long time afterward - particularly her comments about balancing our inner and outer worlds. May this conversation provide you an interesting perspective on what’s to come and inspire your journey forward!

More About This Guest:
In November 2018, Toronto-based Stand Up Paddle coach Mike Shoreman was diagnosed with a rare disease, the Ramsay Hunt Syndrome. All at once, he lost his balance and as a direct consequence, his independence, his SUP-coaching business and his social life. But Mike’s story in 2019 is not about falling down, it’s about standing up again. A public speech competition about the power of positivity which he won in last year has created a viral effect on social media, touched millions of hearts and triggered the #PaddlesUp movement amongst the worldwide SUP community. Mike is an ambassador for several non-profit organizations and a mental health advocate who fights to break stigmas. Mike is now officially the Unbalanced Paddleboarder. He does inspirational speaking and recently published his book, Crash & Rise.
This Summer (2021) – Mike will be the first person to ever paddleboard between the US and Canada. Check out his website to learn more!

Often, we think about intentional living in terms of our daily practices – the activities and rituals that lift us up, bring up back to centre and inspire joy.
However, it’s these very same practices that can also support us as we navigate some of our toughest human experiences – like grief for example.
In this episode, Susan talks to us about how grief impacts us, what it feels like and how we can move forward. She reminds us how raw it feels and that it is something that we will all go through. She also reminds us that each person’s experience of it can be very unique so, there’s no on-size-fits-all step/stage or solution for what we should do or how we should be feeling.
We also discuss how essential self-care (intentional) practices are to helping us grieve productively. We need to reach out, get help and find our way forward.
There is so much wisdom here for everyone. However, if you are grieving or know someone who is, this might be an extra special resource when the time feels right to give it a listen.

Anne-Marie is an award-winning event producer (you can read her impressive bio below). She is also my sister and one of my favourite people on the planet.
In this episode, we are detouring from her career accomplishments to talk about when the body has other ideas, women’s heart health and intentionally navigating life.
18 months ago, Anne had heart failure and it is her journey to change her life that inspires this conversation. I deeply admire how she became more attuned with her body and really initiated a road to recovery that would see her thrive. Things were immediately re-prioritized and I believe this in an important story for all people – particularly women who may find themselves in a similar situation.
I imagine listeners will find that Anne’s experiences, perspective and lifestyle changes offer valuable insights. She talks about advocating for herself, how her life has completely changed, the importance of patience, advocating for yourself and the incredible connection she’s made to herself.

Whether you struggle with addiction or not, it is my experience that meeting our true selves without numbing is a challenge for everyone – it can be the most uncomfortable and yet, most worthwhile journey of this lifetime. This episode has something for everyone and I encourage you to give it a listen.

As we head back to school this September, I wanted us to hear from an educator about what is going on right now and how we can intentionally prepare for our best possible re-integration.

She also offers great tools on helping kids to talk about their feelings and prepare for coming months. This a great episode for all of us in terms of exploring our most mindful collaboration, communication, stress management and mental health.

I met Chef Kim at his sushi making school, Sushi for the Soul. It was a gift to my son and we were excited to learn how to make sushi together. As the class got underway, Chef Kim shared his story, his philanthropy, his culinary precision and his passion. He also mentioned the importance of gratitude. I beamed and my son shot me a look thinking that must be the ‘real’ reason I’d brought him there.
In this episode, Chef Kim shares about his unexpected journey to and through the culinary world. He is wise, smart, witty and so talented. I admire the way he intentionally contemplates life and his story is rich in the awareness of our human complexities. He is open to life’s experiences and also plays a valuable role in creating rich experiences for others.
I’m grateful that we had this conversation and I hope you enjoy it too. If you’re in Toronto, his sushi classes sell out fast but, there’s a good reason for that – they’re awesome. More About This Guest:
A dedicated yoga practitioner, photographer Robert Sturman has increasingly focused on capturing the timeless grace and embodied mindfulness of asana in his work.
His portraits, whether set in the lively streets of Manhattan, the expansive beaches and canyons of Malibu, the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, the timeless elegance of Walden's New England, or the bleakness of San Quentin Prison, remind us that there is beauty everywhere.
His stunning repertoire runs the gamut from yogis perched on rocks surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, to African orphans practicing yoga in Kenya, to breast cancer survivors, bare-chested and scarred. In addition, Sturman has worked extensively photographing war veterans who have embraced the practice of yoga to heal PTSD, in an effort to help change the heartbreaking statistics of veteran suicides each day.
In Sturman's own words, "I often think of Rumi's words 'I can't stop pointing to the beauty.' That feels right to me." Sturman's honors include Official Artist of the 47th Annual Grammy Awards, 2010 FIFA World Cup Artist Representing America, and Official Artist 2008 United States Olympics.
