With stayinthefight, I want to help in the daily struggle against the corona virus. In my opinion, this struggle won't be won alone by science or goverments., it will be won be out everday endurance and solidarity. We know now, the fight against corona will probably take a long time. It will test out patience. So we have to keep on doing the right things and stop ignorant behavior for good or our societies will collaps and more and more people will die - not only because of corona.
Our Health Care Professionals are currently fighting the Corona Pandemic all over the world. The Guardian report 30 dead in italy alone since the outbreak. They are begging us to stay at home, so that they can do their job, exhausted and at their physical and mental limit. We HAVE to stay at home, so no doctor has to decide, to pull an 80 year old person of life support to save somepne with better chances. Stayathome!
Staying at home sounds easy but it isn't. By isolating ourself, we are facing economical and social consequences, maybe even loose a job or be unable to see a loved one for a long time. But it is necessary. By staying at home, we do our part to save lives and flatten the curve of the new corona infections. The more of us do it, the sooner this situation will be over.
On the things, the corona pandamic show the world, is the need for change. The pandamic hit the weakest parts of our society the hardest. After #corona, we must change how the so called lower class, how the "weak", the sick and the old are treated.
Shop assitents, people, who delivery us food and packages, service providers of all kind get to their jobs under the worst conditions everyday to keep our society running. We should thank them, keep them save and keep our distance to at least reduce their risk of infection. After the corona crisis we should thank them by raising their loans, improve healthcare and retirement and support the education of their kids.
The Corona Virus is a massive threat to our senior population. Not only it is extremly deadly for then, it also forces the elderly in isolation. We have to support them and the easiest way, is to #stayathome.
Dr. Li discovered the new Corona Virus but was silenced by the chinese goverment. He died in the fight against Corona. Let us remember his Sacrifice be keeping our fight up. #stayhome #flattenthecurve
In the first episode of stayinthefight I want to give you my reason, why I started a podcast in a foreign language - without any experience or arty mindset. I want to contribute in the global effort against corona - and stay at home. A daily reason to stay in the fight against corona no matter how frustrating it is.
