The children are all from Year 5 at Barnby Road Academy Primary School in Newark, Nottinghamshire.
We’ve got; Naomi Burke, Ned O’Malley, Callum Mumby and Kyle Scott. All have taken part in their first Radio Club at lunchtime and have loved learning about audio editing and the creative process. The piece is a sketch about their favourite summer past time, crabbing! Ned the Super-Crab is determined to make sure his friends in the rock pool get food without being caught but forgets to snip the line when he fancies a nibble! Hope you like it. Phil Johnson. The picture is of the DJs Lucy Maher (featured), Cory Davies (desk), Barnabus Kern (desk), Joe House (recording) and Cara Drabble (edits) They gathered a collection of summer thoughts, narrated them and then added the background sound effects. The picture was taken of them running the Devizes School Sports Day radio show from a community radio caravan! (Derek O'Rourke, Teacher)
Mounts Bay's entry. It is a dystopian drama written, acted, recorded, and edited by Jessica Henshall, a Year 9 student. She enlisted the help of fellow student Mia Herbert to act in it. She has produced this entirely independently - just borrowing school equipment to record on. (Rachel Fisher, Teacher)

Schools Radio is a Vision Charity initiative setup to encourage school students to get involved in making radio.
Radio broadcasts might be over the air with a licence from Ofcom, over the Internet, a podcast that can be downloaded or just relayed by wire in the building. Indeed, if you can find another way of doing it we'll happily call it radio.
Schools Radio went live in 2007 and was launched at the House of Commons in Westminster by the Secretaries of State from the Department of Children, Schools and Families, Ed Balls MP, and the Department of Culture Media and Sport, James Purnell, MP.
Patrons include veteran broadcaster Nicholas Parsons and author Ken Follett
