Listen to Pastor Angel talk about some of the flip-side of Palm Sunday. What is Palm Sunday? Palm Sunday is the Sunday before Easter. It is the day that many remember and celebrate the day Jesus entered into Jerusalem. As Jesus rode a donkey into the town, a large crowd gathered and laid palm branches and their robes and clothes across the road, giving Jesus royal treatment. Music not owned by Mosaic Community Church and is shared under CCLI License.

We started a new series on Liberty that will take us into our Easter/Resurrection Sunday Celebration.  We discussed the importance of understanding that the Triune God gave Jesus the authority and ability to set us free.  Jesus has the power to deliver us from the pollution of this world that clouds the way we think, the control our lusts have over us causing us to separate ourselves from others, crowning or enthroning our will in order to make God and humanity subject to it.

Last Sunday was a blast and a half! I was so concerned that getting you all in groups to discuss anti-racism and inclusion wouldn't fly but it soared actually! Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it.

I presented Politics as the negotiation of our life together. It looks for the WIN for us all and doesn't ignore the sacrifices made for our union. It holds the tension between what we have or how we live now and how we hope to live (our vision of the future). And we shared our small group activity to explore what we Mosaic members and friends mean when we say Anti-racism and Inclusion. We are not finished with this! -Pastor Angel

I learned something really important last Sunday.  You folks here at Mosaic are serious about your games.  You guys played Simon Says like the champs you are! It was a good object lesson for our sermon.  There are so many Simons in the polluted airways of our lives attempting to control the rules and our movements.  But who says we have to live by their rules! We don’t! We have the right and responsibility to create our own agreements about our life together.

Volunteer organizations are powerful entities. They draw people with common aspirations together because there is a belief that they are more powerful together than apart. This belief energizes them causing them to dream big dreams for their communities. Mosaic Community Church is such an organization and so much more for we are part of the body of Christ. We believe we can experience genuine belonging that overflows beyond the relationships within our church into the neighborhoods of our city.

Jesus is our Source; our Center. We need the real genuine human being that He is! We need His help to keep things flowing in our lives. I have no script that you must follow. (If you want suggestions, I got you!) You can spend time with Him late in the day or early in the day. It can be through reading Scripture one day and music the next. You can spend time in nature or just by sitting quietly at home in His presence. It can be as you wash dishes or vacuum. You can read books or watch YouTube videos. Your time with God is your own. It should reflect the loving intimacy you want to grow with Him. Why? Because the Source is where it all begins. --Pastor Angel
