Often the topics we shy away from are the ones most in need of addressing. Sexual assault, as well as the rape culture that perpetuates or acquisces with it, has always been a difficult discussion. It's one of the trigger words that makes the whole room go quiet. We attempt to address some of the ways that rape culture continues to manifest in the modern Western world, the myths surrounding rape, and where to go from here.
In this episode we explore the most controversial figures that are prominent in media who have made corrosive statements about womens empowerment, feminism, and gender equality. These are figures that could be interpreted as being powerful women, who lead by example, but may have misused their platforms. We explore TERF: Trans-exclusionary Radical Feminism, Conservative Feminism, and White Feminism.
