Today's episode is the continuation of my conversation with author and keynote speaker, Chris Clews.  Having spoken to companies such as VISA and DHL, and universities such as University of Florida and UPenn Medicine, Chris is in demand for what he has to say.

Today we delve more into cinema; what gave films from the '80s their edge and how do they compare with the movies of today?  We talk about the rise of Marvel, Hollywood's obsession with hard and soft reboots of '80s classics and much more.

Today's episode is a special one.  This episode will break the normal Sunday release cycle and go live this Thursday (6/29).  I sat down with friends and fellow ex-submariners, Tyler Carrigan and Aaron DesJardins again to talk about the tragedy of the lost Titan sub.  We each served on the same US Navy submarine together and approach this topic with a legitimate knowledge and incite you will not find in most places.
Just a heads up, be prepared for a little adult language here.

This is the second and final part of my talk with Elora Maxwell.  We got deeper into the pros and cons between traditional and self-publishing, along with some unique and sound advice for aspiring authors.  Her debut novel, which comes out July 26th, deals with the sinking of the SS Andrea Doria and events surrounding this fateful night.  It remains among the most terrible of catastrophes in the water and is rarely, if ever taught in schools.

For today's episode, I'm sitting down with Elora Maxwell.  She's a first-time author with plenty to say about books and the publishing industry in general.  Her debut novel, which comes out July 26th, deals with the sinking of the SS Andrea Doria and events surrounding this fateful night.  It remains among the most terrible of catastrophes in the water and is rarely, if ever taught in schools.  Her book and the story behind it are so unique and impressive, I had to have her on.  Her advice to aspiring authors and those seeking inspiration is also outside the norm and worth a listen.

Today's episode was the final in my three-part series with Rev. Dr. Hall.  This time we got into a rather hot button topic, how the LGBTQ community factors into the Church and how this community is viewed within much of the Christian faith, and the effects these views have had on this community.  Further, we went in pretty deep talking about where the Church really stands today in terms of its relevancy and where the Bible stands.  It's an inciteful, sometimes funny, sometimes heartbreaking conversation.  Give it a listen.

For today's episode, I am continuing my conversation with Rev. Dr. Hall, and it was interesting to say the least.  We talked more about where the Church fits into today's complex world, Christian ethics and cultural issues, and how it all fits together.
I want to reiterate, in no way am I attempting to influence or change one's way of thinking here, but episodes like this are what this podcast is all about, sharing different, challenging ideas, in good faith without rudeness or judgment.

For today's episode, the podcast is tackling one of the few remaining important, yet sensitive topics we've yet to cover...religion.  And in today's episode we're talking particularly about Christianity and the Bible.  We talked about where the Church fits into today's complex world, Christian ethics and cultural issues, and how it all fits together.
I have to say, this interview became more of an organic conversation as we talked and Rev. Dr. Hall was far different than I expected him to be in such a great way.  This is merely part one of our interview.  It's just the tip of the iceberg.

This episode was an honest, raw conversation about our two-party system.  At this point, is it doing more harm than good?  We also covered social media and 24-hour cable news networks.  Again, honest talks like this are why I started the podcast.  It's important we can talk to people who don't see eye to eye with us on difficult topics without judgement or rudeness.  There's enough of that going around these days.  It's more than a little sad that the content we covered here is no less relevant now than it was when we had this conversation.

Season 3 starts January 16!  Flashback- This episode came on the heels of the election and Jan. 6 fallout.  I had an honest, raw conversation about our two-party system.

Happy holidays everyone!  Today's flashback episode was a conversation between myself and old military friend, Tyler C.  We covered the election fallout, the January chaos at the capital building and touched on the riots which broke out last summer.  Honest, open conversations like this are why this podcast exists.  We need to be able to communicate what we are really feeling to one another in an unfiltered, yet adult and respectful manner.  It is only through this openness that we grow as a society.

Flashback- This episode is also from season 1.  Another of my favorites.  I reached out across the pond to talk to Hannah Lemon.  Hannah is a graduate of Saint Andrews University and works for Edinburgh University in the field of wildlife biology in the U.K.  Our talk touched on areas from her current work in the field, to modern conservation efforts, to climate change.  This episode wasn't very political in nature, but more based around science.

Today's episode is the conclusion of the two-parter about what life is like on a naval submarine.  This part of the conversation is more animated and anecdotal than part 1, which provided more of a general understanding of military and sub life.  Next week's episode will be the Season 2 finale.

For today's episode, I wanted to take a moment and talk about some important stuff going on right now that affects all of us.  I wanted to speak to this and present facts about these matters from the source and provide my observations from the perspective of an ordinary, concerned, American citizen.

For today's episode, I sat down with Tyler to talk about the full withdraw of troops from Afghanistan and the chaos that followed.  How did this happen?  And more importantly, what do we do now?  Also, as it has been 20 years since 9/11, I want to acknowledge the tragic and senseless loss of life that day.  It is not lost on me that 20 years later, this is what we're talking about.

For today's episode, I wanted to change things up a bit.  I have yet to sit down solo and just talk to everyone.  So, today I'm pulling back the veil and talking about why I started this podcast and more importantly, my philosophy behind it.  It's a quick listen.  Give it a few minutes of your time.

Today's episode is a throwback to a few months back.  This was a conversation shortly after the election, during the fallout.  Tyler and I shared our perspectives on the election, our government, the two-party system and what is causing the rapidly growing rift in our society.  It's not a short convo, so I added links to important points in the episode.  Also, the audio isn't the best here, but I still had to air it because the content was excellent.  A blast from the past, but definitely worth a listen.

Today's episode is the conclusion of our two-part special about race in America in 2021.  This episode will be much different than part one.  This is a very different perspective on this difficult topic, which you will realize early on.  I presented this topic in a two-parter to highlight these differences in opinion.  Still, episodes like this are a big reason why I created this podcast.  A place for us to have these difficult conversations and express what we think and feel honestly, without judgement.

For today's episode I sat down with Dr. Diane Kern from the University of Rhode Island to talk about her work helping young people dealing with trauma.  We're talking about trauma of all types, including PTSD.  Last season I did an episode with a boots on ground professional helping veterans with trauma.  So, I figured it fitting to do an episode dedicated to understanding and helping children dealing with trauma.

In today's episode, I sat down with Tyler to talk about something I'd mostly left alone until now.  COVID-19.  The question is, where do we go from here?  This is not a discussion about the virus or the pandemic itself.  This is more a conversation concerning where things may take us based on what we have seen so far.

This episode is for everyone.  If you're a servicemember or vet, give this a listen.  If you're not, please listen too.  For this first episode of the new season, I got to sit down with Tyler C. and Marland C., both themselves veterans.  We're all just talking about Memorial Day, what it means to us, and what it means to America, as we share some stories, laughs and sentiment.

I don't want to spoil what's in this episode, but this is a totally unscripted, raw conversation about something very important to each of us.  Give it a listen and let it resonate.  Then use our words from this episode to go out and do a little more this year than simply thank someone for their service.

For the first episode, I sat down with an old military friend for a raw, real conversation about heavy hitting issues, from race in America, to police brutality, to the two party system and more.  A simple conversation in good faith between two friends with different viewpoints.  (Note: This interview is from late November, but unfortunately is every bit as relevant now.)
