WAR ON EARTH REQUIRES A BATTLE PLAN…STAY UNDER HIS WINGS…BY STAYING UNDER HIS WILL…BY STAYING UNDER HIS WORD

WHEN SATAN REALIZES THAT HE IS FOREVER THROWN OUT OF HEAVEN AND THAT HIS TIME IS SHORT…HE RELENTLESSLY GOES AFTER ISRAELRevelation 12:13-17 ESVAnd when the dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. [14] But the woman was given the two wings of the great eagle so that she might fly from the serpent into the wilderness, to the place where she is to be nourished for a time, and times, and half a time. HOW IS THIS AN ENCOURAGEMENT TO US AS THE CHURCH TODAY?TO KNOW THAT OUR GOD IS SO GRACIOUS THAT EVEN DURING THE GREAT TRIBULATION…HE WILL STILL BE BRINGING PEOPLE INTO INTIMATE RELATIONSHIPS WITH HIMTO KNOW THAT BECAUSE HE HAS ALREADY SAVED AND SEALED US…WE CAN STAND!WE CAN STAND!

THE WORLD IS DUPED BY A CHARISMATIC WORLD LEADER WHO BRINGS THEM A SHORT-LIVED, FALSE, WORLD PEACEPEACE WITHOUT THE PRINCE OF PEACE TURNS INTO WORLD WARWAR AND FAMINE ALWAYS LEAD TO DEATHMANY WILL BE SAVED…BUT ALL WILL BE KILLEDGOD WILL GET EVERYONE ELSE’S ATTENTION…UNFORTUNATELY EVERYONE ELSE WILL TRY TO ESCAPE..UNFORTUNATELY, NO ONE ELSE HAS A DESIRE TO REPENT AND ARE ETERNALLY DOOMEDSO…HOW IS THIS AN ENCOURAGEMENT TO THE CHURCH?BECAUSE OF GOD’S GRACE…WE WON’T BE THERE!

Stop Chasing Chains!Compared to God’s standard, I am always going to fall short.Romans 3:9-20 NLT9 Well then, should we conclude that we Jews are better than others? No, not at all, for we have already shown that all people, whether Jews or Gentiles, are under the power of sin. 10 As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous — not even one.11 No one is truly wise; no one is seeking God.12 All have turned away; all have become useless. No one does good, not a single one.”13 Their talk is foul, like the stench from an open grave. Their tongues are filled with lies.” Snake venom drips from their lips.”14 “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”15 “They rush to commit murder.16 Destruction and misery always follow them.17 They don’t know where to find peace.”18 “They have no fear of God at all.”19 Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to keep people from having excuses, and to show that the entire world is guilty before God.20 For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.Christ fulfilled the standard, and I get his score.Romans 3:21-24 NLT21 But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago.22 We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.24 Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.I can’t lose because I’ve already lost.Jesus has already won, and he welcomes me on his “best throw” doubles team.Romans 3:25-31 NLT25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past,26 For he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.27 Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith.28 So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law.29 After all, is God the God of the Jews only? Isn’t he also the God of the Gentiles? Of course he is.30 There is only one God, and he makes people right with himself only by faith, whether they are Jews or Gentiles.31 Well then, if we emphasize faith, does this mean that we can forget about the law? Of course not! In fact, only when we have faith do we truly fulfill the law.I play my round in faith, but I get the same score as Jesus.Instead of chasing the chains, let’s chase the words, “Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant.”

If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant. Dear brothers and sisters, I want you to understand that the gospel message I preach is not based on mere human reasoning. I received my message from no human source, and no one taught me. Instead, I received it by direct revelation from Jesus Christ. You know what I was like when I followed the Jewish religion—how I violently persecuted God’s church. I did my best to destroy it. I was far ahead of my fellow Jews in my zeal for the traditions of my ancestors. But even before I was born, God chose me and called me by his marvelous grace. Then it pleased him to reveal his Son to me so that I would proclaim the Good News about Jesus to the Gentiles. When this happened, I did not rush out to consult with any human being. THROUGH FAITH, ABRAHAM GAVE UP HIS STORY TO BE A PART OF GOD’S STORY. FAITH IS SAYING ‘AMEN’ TO WHATEVER GOD WANTS! Romans 4:1-3 ESV What then shall we say was gained by Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh? [2] For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. [3] For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness."

THROUGH FAITH, BEING A PART OF GOD’S STORY IS WAY BETTER THAN ANYTHING YOU COULD EVER BE A PART OF IN CREATING YOUR OWN STORY. UNRIGHTEOUSNESS IS REMOVED AND RIGHTEOUSNESS IS RECEIVED! Romans 4:4-8 ESV Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due. [5] And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness, [6] just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works: [7] "Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; [8] blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin."

THROUGH FAITH, WHEN YOUR STORY BECOMES HIS STORY, YOU ARE BORN AGAIN INTO AN AWESOME, ETERNAL, AND UNIVERSAL FAMILY…WHEN YOU BELIEVE…YOU BELONG! Romans 4:9-12 ESV Is this blessing then only for the circumcised, or also for the uncircumcised? For we say that faith was counted to Abraham as righteousness. [10] How then was it counted to him? Was it before or after he had been circumcised? It was not after, but before he was circumcised. [11] He received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. The purpose was to make him the father of all who believe without being circumcised, so that righteousness would be counted to them as well, [12] and to make him the father of the circumcised who are not merely circumcised but who also walk in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised.

HOW DO WE MAKE THE BEST USE OF THE TIME?

BY KNOWING THAT A LIFE WITH GOD IS FULL OF OPPORTUNITIES…NOT OBSTACLES! Ephesians 5:15-16 ESV [15] Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, [16] making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.

BY SEEING LIFE FROM GOD’S PERSPECTIVE. Ephesians 5:17 ESV [17] Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

BY BEING FILLED WITH (AND CONTROLLED BY) GOD AND NOT THIS WORLD Ephesians 5:18 ESV [18] And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,

BY HELPING OTHERS SEE LIFE FROM GOD’S PERSPECTIVE. SAME BOAT DIFFERENT SEATS 2 Peter 1:1-2 ESV [1] Simeon Peter, a servant (slave) and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained (share the same precious faith) a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness (justice and fairness) of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: [2] May grace and peace be multiplied to you (as you grow) in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

EVERYONE IS SET UP BY CHRIST TO SUPERNATURALLY SUCCEED 2 Peter 1:3-4 ESV [3] His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness (everything we need for living a Godly life / like a baby, we have to grow), through the (experiential / ongoing) knowledge of him who called us to (Him) his own glory and excellence, [4] by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of (share) the divine nature (His nature), having escaped (continually) from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful (human) desire.

PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD Ephesians 6:10-20

A WEAK MAN WITH THE BEST ARMOR WILL BE EASILY BEATEN... Ephesians 6:10 [10] Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.

RELY ON HIS MIGHT, AND EXPERIENCE HIS POWER, AS YOU DO HIS WORK.

THE ARMOR YOU OMIT... Ephesians 6:11 [11] Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

THE ARMOR YOU OMIT...IS USUALLY THE AREA IN WHICH YOU ARE ATTACKED.

WE WASTE OUR TIME FIGHTING PEOPLE INSTEAD OF THE DEVIL... Ephesians 6:12-13 [12] For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. [13] Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.

WE WASTE OUR TIME FIGHTING PEOPLE INSTEAD OF THE DEVIL...AND THE BEST WAY TO FIGHT THE DEVIL IS TO FOLLOW JESUS

MAKE A COMMITMENT TO LIVE BY GOD’S TRUTH... Ephesians 6:14 [14] Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

POSSESSING ETERNAL PEACE WITH GOD... Ephesians 6:15 [15] and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.

POSSESSING ETERNAL PEACE WITH GOD... PROVIDES THE FOOTING FOR EVERYTHING WE DO

CAPTURE ALL WRONG THOUGHTS, DESIRES, AND FEELINGS... Ephesians 6:16 [16] In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one;

CAPTURE ALL WRONG THOUGHTS, DESIRES, AND FEELINGS...WITH FAITH IN GOD THROUGH THE TRUTH OF HIS WORD

IT’S HARD TO BE DISCOURAGED... Ephesians 6:17a [17a] and take the helmet of salvation,

IF YOU HAVE A PERFECT DEFENSE, BUT NO OFFENSE...THE BEST YOU CAN DO IS TIE Ephesians 6:17b [17b] and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,

MASTERFULLY DEVELOP THE SKILLS TO USE THE ONLY OFFENSIVE WEAPON GOD HAS GIVEN US...THE WORD OF GOD

YOUR PRAYERS ARE THE HANDS... Ephesians 6:18a [18a] praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.

YOUR PRAYERS ARE THE HANDS...THAT YOU USE TO PUT ON EVERY PIECE OF ARMOR

PRAY IN SUCH A WAY... Ephesians 6:18b-20 [18b] To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, [19] and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, [20] for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

PRAY IN SUCH A WAY…THAT GOD WOULD BE GLORIFIED IF HE WERE TO ANSWER YOUR PRAYER

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO BE WHEN THE BIG ONE HITS?

BE READY 1 Peter 4:12 ESV [12] Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial (painful) when it comes upon you to test you (straw vs. gold), as though something strange were happening to you.

BE REJOICING 1 Peter 4:13 ESV [13] But rejoice (keep on rejoicing) insofar as you share Christ's sufferings (to the degree), that you may also rejoice and be glad (postponed pleasures / John 16:20 woman giving birth / Paul’s thorn / cross) when his glory is revealed (2nd coming).

BE COMFORTED 1 Peter 4:14 ESV [14] If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit (Comforter / fruit) of glory and of God rests upon you (Steven, Paul, Polycarp).

BE CAREFUL 1 Peter 4:15 ESV [15] But let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or as a meddler (political activist).

BE PROUD 1 Peter 4:16 ESV [16] Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God (only right motivation / privilege) in that name.

BE PURIFIED 1 Peter 4:17 ESV [17] For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, (us now/them later) what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

BE SELFLESS 1 Peter 4:18 ESV [18] And "If the righteous is scarcely (difficult / unwilling) saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner (rescue boat not cruise ship)?"

THE MIND OF CHRIST IS THE BEST WEAPON YOU’VE GOT 1 Peter 4:1a ESV [1a] Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking (Word of Christ+Spirit of Christ=Mind of Christ)...

SUFFERING IN THE FLESH CAUSES YOU TO CEASE FROM SIN 1 Peter 4:1b ESV [1b] ...for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin (pain to change < pain to stay the same)...

MAKE GOD’S NAME WORTH MORE, NOT LESS 1 Peter 4:2-3 ESV [2] so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God (Pr 24:16). [3] For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality (unrestrained vice), passions (sinful), drunkenness (erase conscience), orgies, drinking parties (uncontrolled conduct), and lawless idolatry (worshipping false gods).

YOU DON’T HAVE TO ANSWER FOR/TO OTHERS 1 Peter 4:4-5 ESV [4] With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of debauchery, and they malign (slander) you; [5] but they will give account to him who is ready to judge (hold accountable) the living and the dead (as of this writing).

ONE DAY YOUR BATTLE WILL BE OVER AND VICTORY WILL BE WON...FOREVER! 1 Peter 4:6 ESV [6] For this is why the gospel was preached even to those who are dead (prior to this writing), that though judged in the flesh the way people are (physically die like all people), they might live in the spirit the way God does (live forever with God).

THERE ARE GOING TO BE STORMS 1 Peter 3:17 ESV [17] For it is better to suffer (undeserved) for doing good, if that should be God's will (it is), than for doing evil.

CHRIST IS THE SEAWORTHY SHIP 1 Peter 3:18-20 ESV [18] For Christ also suffered once (new concept for Jews) for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous (undeserved), that he might bring us (given restricted access) to God, being put to death in the flesh (body dead) but made alive (spirit always alive) in the spirit, [19] in which he went and proclaimed (preached a victory message) to the spirits in prison (who? where? when?), [20] because they formerly did not obey, when God's patience (120 yrs) waited in the days of Noah (depraved, demon dominated people, producing a totally corrupt generation, needing to be destroyed), while the ark (type of salvation) was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water (consequences and judgment).

YOU HAVE TO GET IN...AND ENJOY THE RIDE! 1 Peter 3:21-22 ESV [21] Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body (what it symbolizes) but as an appeal (answer/agreement to a contract) to God for a good conscience (clear window), through the resurrection (alive) of Jesus Christ, [22] who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him.

SO MAKE DECISIONS BASED ON RIGHT AND WRONG AS OPPOSED TO POTENTIAL CONSEQUENCES.

THE GREATEST DECISION YOU WILL EVER MAKE IS TO SURRENDER YOUR LIFE TO CHRIST.

FROM THE TIME WE ARE BORN AGAIN UNTIL THE TIME HE BRINGS US HOME, GOD HAS LEFT US HERE AND GIVEN US THE ABILITY TO BE THE BEST CITIZENS, THE BEST EMPLOYEES, THE BEST SPOUSES, AND THE BEST HUMAN BEINGS...AS HEAVEN’S AMBASSADORS SO OTHERS MIGHT ALSO BE BORN AGAIN...ESPECIALLY DURING TOUGH TIMES

THE BEST SPOUSES DO EVERYTHING IN THEIR POWER TO MAKE THEIR SPOUSE A SUCCESS 1 Peter 3:1-7 ESV [1] Likewise, wives, be subject (submit) to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, [2] when they see your respectful and pure conduct (loving, not manipulating). FOR YOU, JESUS IS EITHER ‘THE WAY’ OR ‘IN THE WAY’.

FOR YOU, JESUS ‘IS THE WAY’. 1 Peter 2:4-6 ESV [4] As you come to him (salvation, sanctification, glorification), a living stone (resurrected) rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious(by God’s standard), [5] you yourselves like living stones (eternal life) are being built up(privilege vs. duty)as a spiritual house (the church), to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. [6] For it stands in Scripture: "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone (sets all the measurements and angles) chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame." (MT 7:24-27)

FOR OTHERS, JESUS IS ‘IN THE WAY’. 1 Peter 2:7-8,10 ESV [7] So the honor is for you who believe (lean on a crutch), but for those who do not believe (lean on anything other than Christ), "The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone," [8] and "A stone of stumbling,(in the way)and a rock of offense." They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do(destined to judgement because of unbelief). [10] Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy (not getting what you deserve).

SO SHOW THOSE THAT THINK JESUS IS ‘IN THE WAY’, THAT JESUS ‘IS THE WAY’. 1 Peter 2:9-12 ESV [9] But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood (serve the King by access to His presence), a holy nation, a people for his own possession (peculiar), that you may proclaim (advertise) the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. [10] Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. [11] Beloved, I urge you as sojourners (aliens) and exiles (not citizens) to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. [12] Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers (they have to make right wrong), they may see your good deeds (even if they disagree)and (indirectly) glorify God on the day of (their) visitation (by God).
