If the sheep know the shepherds voice, they cannot be persuaded. But if the sheep wanders away from the shepherd to the point that he can no longer hear the shepherds voice, then that sheep is going to be susceptible to attacks. If we wander too far away from our relationship with Jesus Christ, we become susceptible to being attacked.

John 8:41 You are doing the works of your own father.”
“We are not illegitimate children,” they protested. “The only Father we have is God himself.”
Jesus made a distinction between hereditary children and true children. The religious leaders were hereditary children of Abraham (Founder of the Jewish Nation) and therefore claimed to be children of God. But their actions showed them to be true children of the devil, for they lived under the devil’s guidance. True children of Abraham (Faithful followers of God) would not act as they did. Your church membership and family connections will not make you a true child of God. Your true father is the one you imitate and obey.

In Jesus’s day, a baker would put his seal on the loaves of bread he baked. Thus, in using this terminology, Jesus is saying, “I bear the imprint of God the Father.”

In the midst of your own struggling and toiling, Jesus knows the perfect time to come to you and whisper in your ear, “It is I. Be not afraid.” But it won’t be a minute too early, and it won’t be a moment too late.

The feeding of the 5,000 is the one miracle, apart from the resurrection, found in all four Gospels. It shows Jesus as the Supplier of human need and recalls God feeding Israel with manna in the wilderness, setting the stage for his testimony that he is the bread of life (v.35).
Jesus demonstrated to them the giving character of God – the same character God desires to build within us. Proverbs 11:24 says, “There is one who scatters, yet increases more; and there is one who withholds more than is right, but it leads to poverty.” The bread was multiplied as it was “scattered”.

No one knew the Old Testament better than the Pharisees, and the Scriptures had prophesied about Christ. But the pious Jews were unwilling to come to Jesus for life. People can spend hours learning the Bible – it’s people, events, history, culture, and customs – and yet fail to see the Savior.
Jesus did not call these religious leaders to a new or a different faith. He called them to believe what Moses wrote, about the Scriptures, about His works, about John the Baptist, each testified about Jesus; that He is the Messiah, the Son of God and God the Son. If they refused to believe this overwhelming testimony, it was unlikely they would believe Jesus’ own words.

Keith is the Pastor of Epic Life Church in North Seattle, which he planted in 2009. He has been married for 32 yrs, with four sons, one daughter-in-law, and a granddaughter. Keith leads a pastor network in North Seattle of 23 churches and is highly engaged in the business district of Aurora Ave. N. in the NORA neighborhood, and has led Epic Life in starting a for-profit coffee business-as-mission, a food bank, and a non-profit organization that leads the neighborhood in bringing life to the community, called For North Seattle.
Pastoring in North Seattle along the Aurora Corridor has been a daily challenge as Epic Life engages with marginalized people, crime, homelessness, prostitution, and businesses of ill repute. This challenge is also instrumental in a very diverse community of believers.
Keith also leads ministry trips into southern Peru, coffee-origin trips to Nicaragua, and prayer Hikes through western China’s Tibetan region in places where the Gospel has never been heard and there are no existing Christian witnesses.

I like the idea of “being a disciple of Christ…cleverly disguised as a radio station manager.”
One of my Favorite Bible texts is: Proverbs 3:5,6. I’ve seen in my own life how if I trust in the Lord with all my heart, and lean not on my own understanding, and in all my ways acknowledge Him…that He will direct my paths. I’ve seen how God has guided and blessed me and my family as we seek first the Kingdom of God. We try to seek God and spend some time with Him each morning, and then to try to recognize His presence with us throughout each day. What if a day is wasted if we have not spent some time seeking God?
With a couple of brief exceptions, I have lived nearly my entire life here in the Pacific NW, and consider Spokane my homeland, and my “mission field.” My goal is that Spokane be a Lighthouse to the rest of the country and to the world, for Jesus Christ!
I have been married to my best friend Natalie, since 1998 and we have a 20-something girl, a late-teen boy, a Cavapoo dog (Poco), occasionally some chickens and still one cat, last I checked.
I’m a sports and fitness enthusiast, and I enjoy hiking out around Spokane, like to Big Rock (which is also near where our Shine 104.9 tower is located). Summer is a favorite time of year as I enjoy golf, tennis/pickleball, softball, water sports, hiking, biking country roads. We enjoy the lovely seasons of the PNW.
Having experienced the loss of a much loved family member, and dear friends, I live in eager anticipation for the “second coming” of Jesus on resurrection morning. I am merely a traveler, this world is not my home. I know I am a broken sinner, but by grace I hope my life will give as many others as possible a happier picture of God our Father and his Son Jesus Christ - so they will want to join us in relationship in heaven, too!

For nearly a decade J.R. Covey has been helping individuals find victory in the arena of fear through a 6-week Bible-based group curriculum which he created called Fearproof. The list of attendees includes representatives from over 20 different countries, ranging from mid-teens to late eighties. The stigma and shame associated with being "afraid" has caused many people to reject the notion that they even deal with these expectations. He defines fear as "the expectation of a negative outcome" which is a condition experienced by everyone with a fully functioning nervous system. J.R. helps clients identify core beliefs which are maladaptive and contrary to scripture. Once those expectations are acknowledged the tools provided allow everyone to create new narratives in order to rewire their limbic system for higher functioning. His ministry has extended to Eastern Europe having spent many months living abroad with his family supporting the efforts to end human trafficking and see survivors rehabilitated.

He got his start in real estate by learning the practices of Robert Kiyosaki and the Rich

He has been investing in real estate since 1999 and has had portfolios of single-family rentals, fix & flips, lease-options, and more. Today, Bryan invests in single and multi-family homes, raw land, mortgage notes, and vacation rentals across the country with a primary focus in Washington, Oregon, Colorado and Arizona.
In addition to his real estate investment activities, Bryan runs a successful business coaching & consulting business, Lk13 Development & Coaching. Lk13 got its name from the scripture of Luke 13:6 – parable of the fig tree.
Bryan got his start in coaching & mentoring in 2007 when he was selected as one of a handful of coaches to help Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad clients. Since 2007, Bryan has coached well over 3,000 clients globally in the areas of real estate investing, business development, and stock market investing.

He is speaking about the first miracle which Jesus performed at a wedding in Cana, of turning water into wine.
In the sermon, Lee is advising us to compare the first public miracle of Jesus, the “Grace-Bringer,” with the first miracle of Moses, the law giver. Moses turned the water of the Nile into blood, which speaks of judgement. Jesus turned the water at the wedding into wine, which speaks of joy. So, you too, if you approach the word legalistically, it will become like the Nile. You’ll bloody yourself and everyone around you. But if you look for Jesus in the water of the Word, you will find the wine of joy producing such hilarity within you that people for miles around will be drawn to you. Watch full sermon!

Barry Lee White was born and raised in Spokane, Washington, and started in the Country music industry years ago with his first band Moonshine! They opened for Johnny Cash, Hank Jr., Diamond Rio, Keith Urban, Boy Howdy, Billy Dean, and more over the years, and Barry eventually moved to Nashville with his wife and 2 little girls, to write and record for the Curb Records organization.
Ultimately, he started Square One Records in 2000, and has had some chart success on Music Row and other charts, with the first couple releases, off of his debut record, “That's Me,” released in 2002. His First singles “Between You and Me,” and “As Long As I'm Here”, proved him to be a contender in the Nashville community, and the worldwide music business, for the rest of his life. Barry’s label was one of the first, to release songs digitally, and helped pave the way to all of the platforms such as Spotify.
In 2017, he reunited with his life-long Producer Jeff Tweel, to record new tracks for Barry's first ever Christian Country project, “That's All I Need,” his first single, landed on all the Christian Country charts, and Cashbox!!! It has had spins on country stations too, big and small, and is virtually everywhere digitally in the world, and on many syndicated Sunday Morning country music station shows abroad. They have had 7 #1 songs on that album and have 2 new full projects on him that will be out soon!!!
His music is timeless, and after receiving a traumatic brain injury 10 years ago, Barry recovered enough to continue writing hit songs, and added many other artists to his Nashville record label! Dr. Richard T. Hawk, DSL, MHA, CFAAMA served as the Executive Director since February 2019. His background includes over 35 years in the Department of Defense, 26 years of active-duty military service in the United States Air Force, and over 20 years in executive level roles, leading healthcare, and nonprofit organizations. Dr. Rick and his wife have been married over 38 years, and they have five sons. With a doctorate in strategic leadership (DSL) from Regent University, he is passionate about leading people and organizations to be their best, for the advancement of Christ’s Kingdom on the Earth.
Diana Bird, BSN, RN, has experience working as a registered nurse in a variety of capacities — from bedside nursing to clinical settings to education training positions –but her heart lies in the calling of being a community health nurse. She is passionate about mentoring and building relationships, using nursing skills and knowledge, as well as a love for Christ, to instill hope and comfort. Diana, along with her husband are native of North Idaho and they have four children.

Keith Shauer is the President/Founder of CAE Services Corporation which is a computer aided engineering services company. Keith was born in Chicago and now lives in Batavia, IL with his wife of 35 year, they have four children and eight grandchildren.

He has been in the field of Sales and Marketing for 7 years. Nick has been married to his bride Rebecca for 17 years and they have 3 sons. He resides in Sandwich, Illinois.

He has over 35 years in the Dental/Digital Imaging Business and is currently the Managing Partner of ZimWorX, an outsourcing center in Zimbabwe.

Ranell has identified a deep need for the uncompromised Truth of the Scriptures as the only means to true heart change & healing. In early 2023, Flourish: A Whole You was born. Her passion led her to launch a support network for the whole person: body, mind & soul. Additionally, she partners with David in leading Compel Church as well their non-profit Hope4.5k. Hope4.5k is a non-profit that exists to support adoptive families complete their international adoption.
Ranell is also in the last stages of publishing her book that tells the story of their very own personal adoption story, fittingly named: ‘Unbreakable Bond.’

Today we are hearing from Atheist-turned-Christian Lee Strobel, the former award-winning legal editor of The Chicago Tribune, is a New York Times best-selling author of more than forty books and curricula that have sold fourteen million copies in total. He currently serves as Founding Director of the Lee Strobel Center for Evangelism and Applied Apologetics at Colorado Christian University.

Lee has been described in the Washington Post as “one of the evangelical community’s most popular apologists.” He was educated at the University of Missouri (Bachelor of Journalism degree) and Yale Law School (Master of Studies in Law degree). He was a journalist for fourteen years at The Chicago Tribune and other newspapers, winning Illinois’ highest honors for both investigative reporting and public service journalism from United Press International.
After probing the evidence for Jesus for nearly two years, Lee became a Christian in 1981. He subsequently became a teaching pastor at three of America’s largest churches and hosted the weekly national network TV program Faith Under Fire. In addition, he taught First Amendment law at Roosevelt University and was Professor of Christian Thought at Houston Baptist University.
In 2017, Lee’s spiritual journey was depicted in an award-winning motion picture, The Case for Christ, which showed in theaters around the world. The movie was on Netflix for three years. Lee won national awards for his books The Case for Christ, The Case for Faith, The Case for a Creator, and The Case for Grace. His latest books are The Case for Miracles and The Case for Heaven. A documentary based on The Case for Heaven was shown on movie theaters nationwide in 2022.
Lee and Leslie have been married for fifty years. Their daughter, Alison, is a novelist and homeschooling expert, and their son, Kyle, earned a doctorate in theology and is a professor of spiritual theology at the Talbot School of Theology at Biola University.

Tim was born in Riverside, California and moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho in 1968. After graduation from Coeur d’Alene High School in the late 70’s, he moved back to California where he met and married Cindy.
In 1984 he became a Pastor in Loma Linda, California. Tim and Cindy also ran a coffee house called the “Supreme Bean Coffee House” for years and served the streets of San Bernardino. It was there they became interested in street ministry and the people that are typically ignored; those who have problems with drugs, alcohol, and perversion. In 1985 they began taking people into their home to help them. That has since grown into their Mentor Home Ministry and Good Samaritan Rehabilitation. The street ministry days, from San Bernardino to LA, taught Tim more about drugs and alcohol than all the education he ever had. Since that time, he received his degree in counseling. To Tim however, the degree is much less meaningful than actually leading an addict to Jesus.
Now his life consists of Victim Offender Mediation, Family Mediation, Drug and Alcohol Counseling, Critical Counseling, Idaho Character Council, executive member of the Community Christian Coalition, and Director of Good Samaritan Rehabilitation drug and alcohol residential facilities. In addition, he is the Senior Pastor of The Altar Church in Coeur d’Alene, which he and Cindy began 18+ years ago in the Silver Valley.
Tim and Cindy have been blessed with four children, and over three hundred people have lived as a part of their family in their home.

Think Forever is a creative non-profit organization with one goal: To inspire eternal perspective through the art of story telling. This ministry started with a one-man dramatic performance of The Bema Live. Since 2016, it has been presented for thousands of people all over the world, and has been a valuable tool for inspiring a biblical view of stewardship and generosity. But we didn't want to stop there!
Our lives are filled with stories, from books and magazines, to movies, tv shows, and news stations. Even thirty-second clips on social media are telling you a story. And Jesus himself conveyed some of his most revolutionary teaching through stories. With that in mind, we formed this organization to harness the power of stories for the glory of God and the good of our neighbors. We want to tell about the lives of people who, at crucial moments, chose to live out their faith in light of eternity. By sharing their stories, we hope to help you Think Forever.

Austin and Lindsey Adamec are a Jacksonville, Florida-based husband and wife team who share a passion for gathering people of all walks of life and creating a safe space for intimate worship. After living in Nashville, TN for several years, pursuing individual artist careers, they felt God calling them back to Florida, to work together as worship pastors at Christ’s Church, Jacksonville. After their move, they saw this new season of ministry expand beyond the church walls, into maximum security prison campuses and public pavilions where there were many attempts to shut down their worship by religious protestors. It was in those moments they felt God showing them how there is no space He won’t invade. Now they are meeting in a Harley Davidson Warehouse.

Mark Martinez – Founder of Christian Rite of Passage
Founded by Mark Martinez, this Christian Rite of Passage program was designed initially for his daughters to help them prepare for their transition from childhood to adolescence in 2011. Together with a group of peers and their fathers, Mark facilitated discussions, allowing the children and parents a forum for discussions.
Parents found the initial program beneficial, and Mark began leading other groups. During the program, he found that his children had the ability to hear from their peer's parents rather readily about the pressures of society and how to cope with these constant pressures from a biblical worldview. He also found a means to structure their time into a program that can positively impact the lives of other parents and youth experiencing the same life stage. CROP Ministries is that program.
The Purpose: Helping parents be the primary teacher and influencer.
Parents today struggle with keeping up with their kids. Their child's world is moving so fast as a result of school, sports, music, and other extra-curricular activities. Technology has influenced our children to mature faster and be exposed to more things at an earlier age.
So how is a parent to keep up and to be the primary teacher and influencer in their child's life? The solution is a structured teaching program. A program in which the parent has to prepare very little, and only follow the lesson plans written with the child in mind.
Vision:
Each graduate of the program will have established strong and open lines of communication with their parent(s) or mentor and will strive to be a positive example of Christian conduct and character within their community. They will have learned to evaluate life situations from a Biblical perspective.
Teens learn how to make good choices in the face of temptations which honor God and edify others. They will come to understand that their parents are indeed wise and do care for them, and that their advice and counsel can be trusted.
Mission:
The CROP program will emphasize teaching and preparation by the adult to the child in order to maximize the child’s personal and spiritual growth. The optimum environment is a group of children with their parents working through the program together.
Upon completion of the program, a graduation celebration gathering open to family and friends would be held in which the youth will review to the gathering their rite of passage journey. An emphasis will be on lessons learned, the impact the program has had on their life and their relationship with their parent(s), and scripture verses that have been memorized. The parents will reflect on the impact that the child has had on their life and their family, followed by the father/mentor pronouncing and praying a blessing over the child.

Bryon earned a Bachelor of Religious Education at Moody Theological Seminary – Michigan, his Master of Divinity at Trinity College of the Bible and Seminary, is a certified Marriage Mediator through the XO Marriage Mediator Institute and has served in ministry for twenty years. He has written, developed, and taught curriculum in churches with congregations of 200-14,000. He has served in the Michigan Air National Guard since 2001, presently holds the rank of Senior Master Sergeant, serving at Michigan’s Joint Force Headquarters.
Jennifer Harvey began teaching singles and married ministries with Bryon in the early 2000s. She has been practicing law since 2003 and started her own practice, Harvey Legal Group, PLLC, in 2006. Jennifer has served on the Probate and Estate Planning Advisory Board and is also faculty for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) in Ann Arbor where she teaches other attorneys about estate planning, trust administration, and estate administration. Her other areas of practice include business law, real estate law, and condominium law.
Jennifer has represented clients in dozens of divorce cases. Her first question to those who call about the possibility of divorce is, “Do you need me or do you need a marriage counselor?” In these cases, Jennifer shows compassion and promotes reconciliation whenever possible.
Jennifer is a frequent seminar and conference speaker, Michigan Supreme Court Administrative Office (SCAO) approved mediator, and published writer. She has served as Volunteer General Counsel for Michigan Abolitionist Project (MAP), a non-profit dedicated to eliminating modern day slavery (human trafficking) and now volunteers on their subcommittee advisory board at Vista Maria.
Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Michigan, her Juris Doctor from Ave Maria School of Law, and is a certified Marriage Mediator through the XO Marriage Mediator Institute.

Pruitt also served as President, General Counsel and Board member for CalTex, a national manufacturer in the automotive aftermarket sector. Before CalTex, he was Senior Counsel for Gulf States Toyota, Inc., an independent distributor of Toyota vehicles. Pruitt began his legal career as a civil litigator in Houston, where he was a shareholder of a litigation firm.
Pruitt graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Marketing and earned his Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law Houston, where he was a member of two national championship moot court teams.
Pruitt is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is admitted to practice in all federal courts in Texas. He is also commissioned as a Colson Fellow.

This week on the Be Bold for Jesus Podcast we have guest speaker, Pastor John Padula, from the Altar Church in Coeur d'Alene, ID.
John was born in Coeur d ‘Alene Idaho in 1978. After getting kicked out of his 2nd school in 7th grade, he chose a lifestyle of drugs and violence. John was constantly in and out of jail, and absolutely hopeless.
After 17 years of meth addiction, 21 years bound by pornography, and 6 years of prison, John repented of his life of sin and was washed in the Precious Blood of the Lamb!
John is married to his beautiful wife, Amanda. John was told by the Dr’s.’s that he would never have children, but God said different! John and Amanda have 3 precious children, Arianna, Bella, and Ezekiel.
John has been a Deacon at the Altar, the director of Set Apart Discipleship, and the Outreach Pastor at the Altar.
This week we are hearing from John Harper, Facility Administrator from Eckert Youth. Eckert Youth Homes is an Adolescent Residential Treatment Facility, for youth between the ages of 14-18, located on a spacious and beautiful campus in Williston, North Dakota. We exist to provide a Christian environment that is structured and nurturing.
John and his family moved to Williston in November 2019. John began working at Eckert in October 2019.
John graduated from Jimmy Swaggart Bible College in 1993 with his Master of Divinity degree. John recently completed his Ph.D. program in Leadership Studies at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA. John’s research includes the essence of the connection between transformational leadership and intercultural competence.
At Eckert, John oversees the staff and works closely with the Board. John desires to support the incredible staff at Eckert as they shape lives and build futures for the young people of our community.

Prior to moving up to the Pacific Northwest, he was a Married's Pastor at Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa, working with Pastor Chuck Smith, who was involved with the Jesus Revolution along with Pastor Greg Laurie.
Since 1983, Ken has served as the senior pastor of Calvary Chapel in Spokane, WA. With an uncompromising commitment to the Word of God, Ken’s teaching style has often been characterized as a unique blend of comprehensive exposition paired with historical insights and personal transparency.
Prior to coming to Calvary Spokane, Ken served as the academic director of the Shiloh Bible study center, Married’s Pastor at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, and Associate Pastor at Crossroads Community Church in Vancouver, WA.
His personal and ministry experiences formed the basis for his two books, “Marriage The Way It’s Made To Be” and “Parenting By Grace & Truth”.

This week's podcast is featuring an interview with Craig Warner, a chair for C12, a Christian CEO mastermind group, whose mission is to equip business owners and leaders to make their business a ministry to grow God's Kingdom.
Born in Australia, Craig began his professional career as a CPA. In 1999, Craig together with his wife Debbie and four children moved to Nashville to pursue his calling with a major international mission organization. Completing various assignments, including a 15-month-long assignment restructuring the ministry’s activities in India, and then graduating with an MBA from Lipscomb University in 2008, Craig was appointed International Executive Director of The Gideons International in 2010 and served for seven years. In that role, he came to understand the need for external counsel and C12 to be both an honest and safe place to deal with difficult issues. Having traveled to more than 45 countries, dealing with business leaders from various and multiple disciplines, he brings significant cross-cultural experience a business and ministry leader. We are living in a country today that depends upon its economic strength, but something is also wrong with us, and we won’t face up to it. Our problem is moral. As a nation, we have departed from the living and true God. The ancient city of Babylon, which at first glance seems so unrelated to us, has a message for us.
The stone of the debris of Babylon are crying out a warning to us.
Never get stuck in a rut and think that God can't use you. He will use the uneducated, the untrained and the unrefined people - we just have to be willing to be used by Him!
“Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth, for I am God, and there is no other." Isaiah 45:22
Do we put worldly items above our relationship with God? If we go back to our calendar the last couple of weeks, will it show time for daily devotionals, church and Bible studies or will it show something different? The Lord is our Almighty Redeemer and deserves our time and devotion to a relationship with Him.
