Pastor Clark looks into the idea of how we can be empowered to change our world for good in this week's sermon.
God told Jonah to go to Nineveh with a message for the people to turn to God. Jonah disobeyed and traveled by boat in the opposite direction, but God corrected his course! Pastor Clark explores the tension between good intentions and good actions as we learn to see glimpses of God all around us.
We begin a new series today in the Old Testament books of histories and prophets. We see them reveal God through various means & sightings and learn that if we look close enough we might get our own glimpse of God! Today we begin our journey with the prophet Elijah.
Throughout this series we have seen the ups and downs of promises not kept by God's people but a faithful God that has always kept His promises. As we conclude we see a new covenant being made between God and His people in King David with echoes to a future King (Jesus). Ultimately, like David, we learn that it is impossible for us to outgive God.

Freedom vs. Bitterness / Unfortunately bitterness often never even pops up on the radar of the person weâre unforgiving towards. Often the bitterness and resentment we hold close to our heart only affects us negatively. How ironic that the target of our bitterness is not affected in the least while we suffer.
Likely this is why the Rev. Harry Emerson Fosdick wrote, âBitterness imprisons life; love releases it.â
