- Afternoon horse race shootout - 2:20pm at the PGA WEST Mountain course - this was a huge hit last year. We had over 40 players in the PSGC Annual Horse race shootout. Teams are paired by low handicap to high handicap then each team plays alternate shot. Guaranteed two holes, then elimination begins until we have the top 4 teams battling it out for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place

Grace Appel was fresh out of college and an internship through the PJ Boatwright program. She grew to love the game through the MSGA (Maryland Stage Golf Association) and wanted to stick around!
May 31 of this year, she got her wish! Grace was appointed as the Association’s Manager of Development and Programming taking over the management of all aspects of Women’s MSGA Championships and events, and assisting in conducting USGA qualifiers in Maryland. Grace also coordinates and oversees different aspects of Youth on Course (YOC) and the MSGA Junior Girls Golf Program including fundraising, administration, and outreach, in conjunction with the MSGA YOC Fundraising Committee and Women’s Committee.

Terry Koehler is a fourth-generation Texan and a graduate of Texas A&M University. Over his 40-year career in the golf industry, he has created over 100 putter designs, sets of irons, and drivers, and in 2014, he put together the team that reintroduced the Ben Hogan brand to the golf equipment industry.
Since the early 2000s, Terry has been a prolific writer, sharing his knowledge as “The Wedge Guy”. But his most compelling work is in the wedge category.
Since he first patented his “Koehler Sole” in the early 1990s, he has been challenging “conventional wisdom” reflected in ‘tour design’ wedges. The performance of his wedge designs have stimulated other companies to move slightly more mass toward the top of the blade in their wedges, but none approach the dramatic design of his Edison Forged wedges, which have been robotically proven to significantly raise the bar for wedge performance.

The Crew started out their 2022 on the West Coast for the Palm Springs Golf Championship. We left snow and we were greeted with snow up arrival back to the East Coast. BUT! That's not what today's episode is about!
We talk golf & a lot of it. From detailing our time spent out in Palm Springs (Dante's first time in 21 years on the Weast Coast). To the Tournament rounds on PGA West Nicklaus Tournament Course & Stadium Course & Horse Race at the Mountain Dunes Course. PGA West put on a show all week!
We then teamed up with our great friend @tfeltz_golf to drive from Palm Springs to Borrego Springs. Home of Rams Hill Golf Club. Also a first for Dante (seeing a trend here?) We talk about the round at Rams Hill and the incredible ways the golf course presents you with never-before-seen challenges and views!
Last but surely not least we followed our San Diego native @tfeltz_golf to his "home away from home" at Aviara Golf Club, home of the 2021 LPGA Kia Classic. And boy o boy what a treat! Mike Maggs (@maggsgolf) also joined us for the round and gave Trent a lesson or two (per hole!)

Brandel Chamblee. Quite possibly one of golf's most polarizing figures in the booth over the last few decades has his eyes set on plans far larger than a mic and a few words.
Joining hands with renowned golf course architect Agustin Pizá, Chamblee is setting his sights on building a golf course & property like one the golf industry has never seen before. A site specific to the women's game. "LPGA National" as he calls the prospective course in Harlingen, Texas. From The Atlantic Ocean to the foothills of North Carolina, we take a minute (almost an hour) and go into detail about Crew Member Dalton's past week and a half of competitive golf.
Starting with the Club Championship @ Glen Riddle Golf Club just outside of Ocean City Maryland, we detail the feels of getting the competitive juices flowing, & how putting seems to always reign supreme down the stretch of any tournament.
From there, we take a trip to Towson, MD for the Maryland State Golf Association Mid-Am @ Country Club of MD. A 1921 designed course playing at just over 6300 yards. From the undulation around the fairways to the speedy tricky greens, this was one of Dalton's favorite plays all year!
From Maryland, we take a short flight south to Kings Mountain Country Club in Kings Mountain North Carolina just outside of Charlotte. Dalton's second Member-Guest of the year, this one was different! A Gross event! We look at the course architecture, the way North Carolina grass is a whole different beast from the grass up north.
The Calcutta... a 6 figure Calcutta!!! We dive into the most money we've ever played for, and how playing for that big of a pot changes the way you experience competitive golf from that day moving forward!
A short flight north back to Salisbury MD Sunday night left Dalton without a critical item or two going into Monday's MSGA Two - Man Better Ball event! We talk about the newly renovated golf course at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. How to play good golf with brand new clubs. & How after all this competitive golf, something changed for Dalton!

As you all have most likely heard by now the PGA of America is embracing the range finder inside the ropes at their up-and-coming PGA Championship in 2021. A staple in the Amateur & College Ranks the little strap on the device has endeared its way onto the biggest of stages. Dante had the privilege of playing the course as it is still under construction this past weekend. Hired at Pinehurst in May of 2013. In what he himself called his dream job. At the age of 32, Ben Bridgers was described as a rising star within the golf industry by then Pinehurst Resort’s Senior Vice President of Golf and Club Operation Jay Biggs. Today we were blessed to sit down with long time (since 1984) Executive Director of the AJGA (American Jr. Golf Association) Stephen Hamblin. Stephen addresses the current state of junior golf within the game as well as taking us back in time. He talks about how he first became the Executive director back in '84 as well as how he along with the board of directors turned a small non-profit that was close to shutting its doors for good into the household name within jr. golf not only in the country but around the world. We also talk about some of the all-time greatest junior players to grace the tournaments run by the AJGA and what it takes to separate yourself as a junior golfer from the rest of the pack. Stephen also walks us through how the AJGA addresses their slow play and why they have been able to stay at the forefront of slow play policies since their inception. Spoiler alert, their average tournament round time is under 4 hours and 30 minutes!
