On this week's episode of the Be Loud About What Matters podcast, I had the pleasure of chatting with Chris Linscome. Over the course of the next hour, Chris opens up about his healing journey and what he's learned about health, his decision to leave Naturopathic medical school, and his vision for himself and his family in the coming years.

Chris is a writer, former naturopathic medical student, current truck driver, soldier, husband and father, and truth and meaning seeker. In 2021 he walked away from medical school, unwilling to sacrifice his integrity and principles for an education and medical career. He formally studied Christian history and theology for several years in Chicago and England before deciding on a medical career. While attending Columbia University in NYC for his premedical studies, Chris seriously considered monastic life, staying at a monastery in a discernment process for a brief time. Eventually, his patriotic impulse led him to enlist in the United States Army, where he served as an airborne infantryman in the 82nd Airborne. Chris started his studies in Classical Chinese medicine and Naturopathic medicine in Portland, OR in 2017 but voluntarily left after the madness of 2020 and beyond. He has been enjoying a slow and deliberate unbecoming in this season of life while he continues to write and be thankful for the beautiful, unexpected journey.

On this week's episode of the Be Loud About What Matters Podcast, I'm FINALLY chatting with my dear friend Dr. Sarah Granite. She shares a bit about her own births, how she became comfortable using her voice, why it's so important to be informed and know all your options going into birth, AND why unnecessary inductions happen, specifically around the holidays. This episode empowers and encourages women to do their own research, heal, and boldly advocate for themselves.

Dr. Sarah is a chiropractor, birth educator, artist and mother of 3 boys. After her first birth, an unnecessary c-section, left her with PTSD, depression & anxiety, she decided to freebirth her second son, which completely healed her. She knew she couldn’t be alone in her obstetric abuse & birth trauma stories, so she started connecting with women on Instagram through her account @birthuprising, only to learn how rampant the mistreatment truly is. Through her consults, workshops & handouts she helps women to think critically about their prenatal care & birth, and to realize that there are more options than they're being told.

On this week's episode, I sit down with a dear friend of mine, Dasha. In this episode, Dasha shares a bit about her son's cancer diagnosis, treatment, and journey, while also sharing how she began asking questions when things didn't add up. She discusses how and why she began doing her own research, finding alternative treatment options that aren't as damaging or invasive to the body, and the importance of advocating for your children. This is a conversation that everyone needs to hear, but especially parents in a world where society and doctors try to convince you that your children need pharmaceuticals in order to heal.

About Dasha:

Dasha is a single mother to two amazing boys that are 7 and 9. She homeschools her sons, works as a hairstylist part time, and creates content to help spread awareness about pediatric cancer, everyday toxins, real food, and her journey as a mother. Her older son was diagnosed with T-lymphoblastic Lymphoma (blood cancer) in 2019 and their world was completely turned upside down. They fought long and hard for 2 1/2 years through cancer treatment, and thankfully he is currently healthy and still in remission. This experience pushed her to research, ask questions and dig deeper on many “controversial” topics. She has made it my mission to have open conversations daily and empower others to dig deeper in their own health and wellness journey.

In this week's episode, I sit down with Dr. Martin Rosen and Dr. Nancy Watson to chat about holistic health and the numerous benefits of pediatric chiropractic care.

A blurb from Dr. Marty + Nancy:

The challenge for the next generation of parents is becoming evident during this unique time. Children, in many ways, are more challenged than ever. Their ability to adapt and thrive is being tested. We must step up, not shy away from the challenge.

Recently the CDC has lowered the bar for developmental milestones in children. They have decided to incorporate what is now becoming “common” to “normal”. Lowering the bar on childhood development does not favor anyone, on the contrary it is detrimental to current and future generations.

It is time that we looked at the causes of these declining values and efficient, effective, and permanent ways to deal with them. Acceptance of these facts as normal is an unacceptable paradigm.

Drs. Rosen and Watson are 1981 summa cum laude graduates of Life Chiropractic College. Over the past 4 decades they have taught pediatrics, craniopathy, primary healthcare management, practice management and chiropractic philosophy nationally and internationally to thousands of chiropractors, chiropractic students, healthcare providers and on public forums.

While lecturing and teaching to chiropractors and the public they have compiled thousands of hours of presentations on chiropractic technique, safety, efficacy, research and evidence-based protocols. Their unique approach to chiropractic and the care of the pediatric population is evidenced in their published books, seminars and professional articles.

They are the founders of “Peak Potential Institute”, offering one of a kind online and hands-on courses for the chiropractic profession. Teaching their first seminar in 1979 the doctors have dedicated their lives to both excellence in patient care and an unrelenting commitment to improve the technical excellence in the chiropractic profession.

With 80 years of combined clinical and teaching experience in chiropractic art and science, pediatric care, TMJ, women’s health issues, practice management, chiropractic philosophy and numerous other topics, they have compiled an impressive array of educational programs, books and research articles.

This week I have Benita back with us again! When we were talking last week, our conversation was so free flowing and incredible that we decided to record another episode for you all. It is crucial to be mindful of this when trying to figure out the educational path that is best for them. We wrap up this week's episode by chatting about ways to include your children in the work you do on a daily basis. Again, another topic that we don't hear much about in our society. Our children learn by example, why not include them in what you're doing if they express an interest in it?

On this week's episode of the Healthy Balanced Birth and Beyond Podcast, I'm chatting with Benita Conde. We open up a conversation about the importance of tapping into your maternal instincts, following your child's cues, and creating a life that you truly love. We discuss how as parents our job and the energy we carry with us can positively or negatively impact our children.

When our children see us creating and building a life that we love, they realize that they have choices too. We dive even deeper and talk about the pressures that society puts on both parents and children. Pressure that we "should" be going to school for something because our parents wanted us to, or that we "should" be parenting a certain way because our parents did. When your child(ren) see you being your authentic self, this allows them to do the same thing in their own life. This is a beautiful conversation with Benita. She opens your eyes to new possibilities within the work and parenting space.
