In this episode we tell you all about how in 2020 we got to combine a little business with pleasure each month. We discovered that one of the blessings of 2020 was that our one day buying trips to Los Angeles for our online boutique, Blush Out West, had to slow the pace because available flights to L.A. were scaled back. In 2020 we had no choice but to spend the night because the early morning and late night flights we'd been taking for years were not available. We had time to work hard during the day and sight see in the late afternoons and early evenings in Santa Monica. We got little mini vacay's almost every month. We discovered that Santa Monica and Venice beach held not only delicious lattes and croissants for enjoying on the beach, but a treasure trove of petty crimes awaited us along their boardwalks. Prime Blush Detective territory with all that one could expect; drug dealing, drug making, theft, homelessness, craziness and filth!
In this episode you will hear all about a very scary night for our family. It all started with a few teens going for an evening stroll and ended up with my husband, Wren's dad, beaten to a pulp. And real shocker....all of the attackers had previous violent offense records. You won't want to miss this one!
As hardworking Americans, who have worked hard since our early teen years earning every single penny that's passed through our wallets, it really chaps our hide when we are stolen from or watch crooks rob a store blind right before our eyes. As you know, Wren and I are not ones to sit back and allow that to happen without taking action. Join us in this episode as we share with you shoplifting and grand theft auto stories and how we've intervened. Want a staggering, mind-blowing statistic? According to Money magazine, in 2016 Shoplifting cost the retail industry almost $50 Billion, YES! Billion. And guess who ultimately ends up paying for this? Us, the taxpaying, not-getting-a-free-ride citizen of the United States. This number doesn't even account for theft of personal property from our homes, vehicles or persons. Can you imagine the overall number this is costing us? Sounds like it's time to implement a far more serious consequence to thinking you're entitled to what others have worked for, like cutting off those sticky fingers. Has it not become more and more clear over 2020-2021 that we are in deep need of more virtuous people in our society?

Celebrating another successful year in business @Blushoutwest with our yearly trip to the Mexican Riviera Maya, living life to its fullest. And for us this is what that looks like; 5 nights, rice pudding, spa treatments, endless hours laying on the beach watching the waves roll in, lazy mid-morning poolside reading, and people watching.
Throw in a random pervert to watch and we just had the trip of our life!
Here we were, soaking up the sun at the adults only pool; nice and quiet, everyone minding their own business lots of couples. When what should appear but a pair of tightie whities at the pool. And we're not talking about a toddler who escaped from his mom for a brief moment but a full grown man. But don’t worry, he was incognito in his ball cap and wrap around, just had my eyes dilated at the eye doctor, sunglasses.
