Professor/Imam Benjamin Bilal is our guest speaker on this last rebroadcast show with his topic "Respect For Our Inherent Human Worth." This is his show discussion statement: No baby is born consciously knowing what his or her "race" or "religion" is. We are all born into this world, however, with natural instincts, urges and tendencies that are designed to save us from danger and attach us to family members and to a human community of safety and security. Inaccurate ideas of race and religion have severed natural family ties, created false ethnic and racial superiority theories, and have allowed many in history to very arrogantly step into the position that only a true "Creator" should occupy. In order to have peace and progress on earth, we must first return to a respect for our inherent human worth as our Creator created it. - We explore the solutions to peaceful co-existence on earth with our fellow humans whether we be Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, Agnostic, Atheist or other. The first question should be: 'Am I a true human?'"

Clinical Psychologist and author Dr. E. Douglass Brown will continue his series on the parenting style of Indoctrination and Insulation entitled "POSITIVE INDOCTRINATION- a Chosen Parenting Style" -  He will talk about using this technique of Indoctrination for positive seed planting instead of detrimental programming as we know indoctrination to be. Positive indoctrination includes teaching your children to have courage and honesty; to love truth and to love learning; to learn and appreciate empathy; to be empathic with others; to stand up for their rights; Positive indoctrination provides the insulation necessary for the negative elements the child will be encountering.

Clinical Psychologist and author Dr. E. Douglass Brown will join us again with his series on the parenting styles of Insulation, Isolation and now Indoctrination, on this rebroadcast show.  He was saying that the child naturally feels like they are safe and that they can express themselves without feeling like they are wrong. This happens with an Insulation parenting style. Pampering comes in the form of giving more to the child when they haven’t earned more. Pampering is a form of Isolation. Indoctrination is the new parenting style that will added to the previous two. It is when a set of beliefs are introduced and aggressively taught in order for the beliefs to be planted in the subconscious. Dr. Brown will look at the school age of 5 and see what effects these parenting styles have on their developing minds.

Clinical Psychologist, author and returning guest Dr. E. Douglass Brown is back with us, on this rebroadcast show, to continue his series on these two parenting styles - INSULATION and ISOLATION. He says, “Some parents try not to expose a child to ANY situations that interfere with their fantasy-like views and their fantasies about what a family should be like. In the case of INSULATION, the parents shield the person from the harm of too much exposure to family and outside conflicts. This is a effective style of parenting - In this part 3 he will continue his examination of how the child's life unfolds in their developmental stages starting at age 2.

Dr. E. Douglass Brown will join us on a rebroacast show, with his topic of ISOLATION & INSULATION. This deals with the effects on children and adults when they have been sheltered from all conflict in the home. He calls this "Isolation." He also says, "Some parents and guardians try not to expose a child to ANY situations that interfere with their fantasy-like views and their fantasies about what a family should be like. In their 'lovy-duvy' world, a parent is heard, heeded, and hugged 24-7.” This does not reflect the real world and Dr. Brown will talk about the emotional consequences that follow this kind of childhood experiences.

Dr. E. Douglass Brown with continue in this series on Resolution and Emotional Life, part 4. He will examine the life of our children who did not experience resolution in their household after seeing conflict. He will look at how their latter years will probably turn out with this emotional void in their subconscious. When resolutions are not witnessed, dysfunctional relationships are guaranteed in their future. He will talk about 'Emotional Alzhiemers' and how our seniors are affected if they have not reconciled issues in their earlier years

Author and Psychologist Dr. E. Douglass Brown is back with us, on a rebroadcast show, as he will continue his theme of Resolution and Emotional Life, now part 3. Dr. Brown talked in our last discussion about how conflict in the home without resolutions affect the child. Dr. Brown was saying that when the child does not witness resolutions in the home, the toxic effects of their negative emotions only increase, like fear, anxiety and depression. When the child views these conflicts and they become a pattern of behavior in the home, that child is more likely going to develop some anti-social behaviors, carry anger around with him, getting into fights, having behavior issues at school. He will talk about this child now entering adult life and how this un-resolved issue affects his/her relationships and emotionality. For you adults this series is important to reflect on your own childhood and see what fits for you.

Psychologist Dr. E. Douglass Brown will join us again to continue his discussion from his last visit on this rebroadcast show. It is just as important to clean up after a storm as it is to learn how to endure a storm. Imagine what a neighborhood looks like after a storm if no one cleans up. Storm after storm, debris and wreckage just pile up. This scenario is liken to what happens when a child never or rarely sees individuals in arguments and conflicts reconcile with each other.  There is no closure - no return to a sense that the world is both safe and caring. The child - now an adult - experiences repeated disagreements and disappointments, and is shackled to the view that his or her cynical negative feelings are just being "realistic" about life. He will start with the effects in the adolescent period. We will be able to see from this analogy how our own lives have been affected pro and con.

Clinical Psychologist and author Dr. E. Douglass Brown, on this re-broadcast show, is contiuing his discussion about the Bliss Point in our Children part 2. The makings of the spiritual bliss point are deeply embedded in each infant. Whether the makings of the spiritual bliss point become an actualized experience depends on the person, once an infant, learning the difference between his or her true self and “somebody” that he or she has come to believe is “me.”  Wise parents encourage a child to ask the right questions and to seek and accept the right answers. Unwise parents encourage a child to only ask questions when given permission from others and to accept answers endorsed by them and others. Clinical Psychologist and author Dr. E. Douglass Brown speaking today on Bliss Point vs Ego pt 1 on this re-broadcast show. A term invented in the fast food industry, the “bliss point” refers to that point when a person experiences the maximum amount of sensory satisfaction and pleasure from tasting and eating a specific food product. Food and beverage companies spend millions of dollars in research to identify the right mixture of ingredients to place in their food and beverage products to take you to the “bliss point”- when you taste and savor their products and feel that you must consume more in order to re-experience that maximum degree of digestive satisfaction and pleasure. (Doritos chips anyone?) The more enduring “bliss point” or bliss state” is attained when you stop pretending that your ego is who you are and start to be who and what you are – a human being with a unique personality who is connected to the Ultimate Superior Spirit behind all creation. Some people call this state self- actualization or self-realization.

Imam Benjamin Bilal speaking on this re-broadcast show addressing the timely topic of Spirituality part 2, continuing his discussion from his last visit. Regarding Spirituality he says the following:

"Spirituality" is not to be seen as separate from the material and social life of man. The material life is actually the densest form of spiritual existence, which is the "true" existence. Real life is pertaining to the life of the soul, or what I have dubbed the 'breathing conscience'. It gives birth to proper emotional, mental and psychic life - all of which are invisible and represent aspects of the spiritual life. In reality, they are all ONE! "Spirit" only means "influence" and if you can get control of the invisible things that influence your visible life on a daily basis, you can maintain control over all of the various manifestations of that life, which will allow you access to peace, freedom, and wellness. He will also compare ideals in various religions and talk about the 7 Chakras as it relates to gratitude and spirituality.

Child and Family Therapist Jef Gazley is speaking, on a rebroadcast show, talking about Relationships-Repetition Compulsion. Repetition Compulsion happens when a person experiences a trauma that becomes stuck in their subconscious. This is a reason many relationships wind up in failure, repeating dysfunctional patterns. The subconscious then attempts to resolve the trauma by reliving the experience even when that re-experience usually turns out disastrously. The resolution of that trauma occurs when the conscious mind realizes what they are doing and deactivates the compulsion through energy psychology. His website is www.asktheinternettherapist.com

Clinical Psychologist and author Dr. E. Douglass Brown is speaking, or this re-broadcast show, finishing his talk about the Bliss Point. This is his 3rd installment of this special topic. He says, “Each person is a traveler who journeys first from a condition of knowing nothing, then to a condition of infantile self-obsession, then to a condition of being possessed by anyone or anything that the person thinks can induce pleasure and relieve discomfort. Some of us eventually make it to a state of freedom from bondage to fleeting urges, affiliations, and ego-attachments. That state of freedom is commonly referred to as Higher Consciousness - aka - the ‘Bliss Point.’ It is 'what I want' as I near the end of my journey – not what someone else wants for me, it is 'what I hope to become' as I near the end of my journey, not what someone else wants me to become.

Clinical Psychologist Dr. Buffy Wooten is speaking on, a re-broadcast show, Having Emotional Health.  Her discussion statement is this: - Understanding your emotions and using them for your good - Many times our emotions are considered a hinderance or a liability--that they confuse our judgment and create obstacles in the process of making good and sound decisions. However what's little understood is that our emotions are hardwired in us and therefore serve a specific and higher purpose. They are actually intended to aid us in our judgement and facilitate decision making that serves us and causes our decisions to represent who we are and what we want and need.

It is the power that leads to success in your own field in your own way." - Spiritual Psychotherapy. Clinical Psychologist and Author Dr. E. Douglass Brown is speaking on this re-broadcast talking about Emotions and The Self. He says that emotions are as essential to a person's inner growth as eating vegetables are to staying physically healthy. Emotions tell us how we feel about ourselves, others around us, and our environment. When it comes to self-development and reaching the psychospiritual "bliss point," a person has to come to like and prefer his or her true Self over the Ego. That which is in harmony with the true self must be more emotionally appealing and satisfying to a person than ego-centered pleasures.

Author, Medical Director and Founder of the Pressman Center for Mind/Body Wellness, Clinical Professor Emeritus at Temple Medical School in Psychiatry and Chairman Emeritus of the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Dr. Maurie Pressman will be speaking on this re-broadcast show. His statement on Co-Dependency is this:

"Co-dependency or addiction are outgrowths of the way we work as personalities, and the "cure" arises from knowing the self and calling upon the magnificent power of the soul-within. That is why it is so good and so important to know one’s Self. The next thing is that there are transactions between people under all circumstances, and a dynamic equilibrium is established and maintained, unless some crisis comes along. In the case of co-dependency we mean that there is a transaction between partners in which one personality is adjusted to the other – and maintains the pattern of the other for good or bad. In the case of addiction it is for the not-so-good as far as society is concerned, for it leads to a debilitation on the part of the addict both by the addicting drug and  the withering of personal strength by being overly supported by the sponsor."

Clinical Psychologist and author Dr. E. Douglass Brown will start a new theme with his topic of Bliss Point vs Ego, on this re-broadcast show.

Clinical Psychologist Dr. E. Douglass Brown is speaking on his final Part 3 series on Bliss Point vs Ego, on this re-broadcast show. That state of freedom is commonly referred to as Higher Consciousness - aka - the ‘Bliss Point.’ It is 'what I want' as I near the end of my journey – not what someone else wants for me, it is 'what I hope to become' as I near the end of my journey, not what someone else wants me to become.”

Clinical Psychologist and author Dr. E. Douglass Brown will continue his talk on Bliss Point part 2, re-broadcast show, talking about bringing out the Bliss Point. Wise parenting models and guides towards the bliss point.  Unwise parenting models and guides towards the "miss" point.

Dr. Sheran Mattson will be our special guest speaker talking about how EFT-(Energy Freedom Technique) can be used to unblock emotional areas which are preventing our future growth. EFT is an emotional version of acupuncture, except needles aren’t used. Instead, a simple two pronged process is used wherein the practitioner  (1) mentally "tunes in" to specific issues while (2) stimulating certain meridian points on the body by tapping on them with their fingertips. Individuals identify negative emotions all the way from childhood. Each negative emotion, from past experiences, is the result of an energy disruption in the body. These negative occurrences are stored in the brain and until they are released, they continue to cause challenges. By simply identifying the negative experience and tapping through it, the energy is released and no longer affects one in the present. • Confidence Will Accomplish.   Confidence in our relationships can make a person more attractive and appealing than physical beauty. We will discuss the place of confidence in developing good relationships.

  • Be a Humble Hero:    Is this an oxymoron? Or is it possible to be both?

  • Gentleness  - the antithesis of anger

  • Love  - Love is definitely an emotion. A wonderful emotion. But is it more than this? What can we do to develop love within our relationships?

Clinical Psychologist Dr. E. Douglas Brown will be speaking on this rebroadcast show.. He says, "The art of speaking and listening demands more than a tongue, lips and ears. Before a toddler can utter a word, a toddler can recognize the sound of a word and associates it with pleasant or unpleasant experiences. Parents should teach their children that communicating and listening is easy, fun, and exciting." Many children don’t communicate what they are truly feeling unless they feel comfortable in doing so. If the environment is not supporting their spirit, if folks are berating them, abusing them, ignoring them, or just not being loving enough, they are not going to feel like opening up. That makes them more vulnerable to more negative energies. This is also good for adults so they can see what was missing in their childshood and improve and/or learn these valuable skills for their healthy relationships.

He will talk about this child now entering adult life and how this un-resolved issue affects his/her relationships and emotionality. International Spiritual Teacher, Energy Healing Master Arnaud Saint-Paul is our special guest speaker on a LIVE Reconnected Show talking about Abundance Thru Words. Arnaud says that it has been proven many times over, words condition our life, experience and reality. Through the use of carefully crafted and positive inspirational messages based on the unique world-renown HealThruWords Inspirational Quotes, he has created a unique 90-day program named Abundance Thru Words. Abundance Thru Words help us understand what Abundance really is and how we can invite and experience it in our lives. How is this different than affirmations that are generally used? Affirmations are repeated mind-oriented sentences that will only and always reaffirm the existing belief system. The person using affirmations will always use them within the same framework or thought pattern.

What our HealThruWords Inspirational Quotes do is to help the person shift his/her track, change to a new framework or pattern. As he/she switches to a higher tone (/tonality), s/he can then create new unrelated thought patterns not related to the former framework. Each quote speaks to the 'heart' of the reader and help him release these outdated beliefs systems. Therefore self-talk patterns are upgraded to less negative ones, creating a new space, a new identity from which new choices are made and new outcomes experienced. Go to his website and subscribe - http://healthruwords.com/abundance

The resolution of that trauma occurs when the conscious mind realizes what they are doing and deactivates the compulsion through energy psychology. His website is www.asktheinternettherapist.com

Clinical Psychologist and Author Dr. E. Douglass Brown is back with us on this rebroadcast show talking about Emotions and The Self.

Therapist Jef Gazley willl be our special guest speaker on this rebroadcast show. His statement on Co-Dependency is this: The definition of co-dependence is the tendency to desperately attempt to take care of other people to such an extent that the needs of the caretaker are ignored. Codependency was first identified by working with alcoholic families in the early 1980’s while noticing how the mates of chemically dependent people parented their partners. Codependency was first thought to occur only as a reaction to someone in the family being addicted. It is now known that co-dependence also results from growing up in a dysfunctional family of any type. These families often emotionally abandon their children and shame them. These children react by trying to become perfect, control everything, and “fix” their parents and later their spouse and children in the hope that they will be loved and gain approval. Clinical Psychologist and Author Dr. E. D. Brown is our special guest speaker on this LIVE show with his unique topic "Highway To the 4th Dimension." What about the idea that if you keep on the "miss point"  (remain disconnected, stay satisfied with less than truth), the 4th dimension and beyond is not yours to reach. In other words, happiness and contentment, qualities of the true self, actually originate and flow down from higher dimensions. If you keep on the "miss point"  (remain disconnected, stay satisfied with less than truth), the 4th dimension and beyond is not yours to reach. In other words, true happiness and contentment, qualities of the true self, actually originate and flow down from higher dimensions. In order to make contact with true contentment and happiness (the bliss point) , your inner self has to be at the right place at the right time. What we call "happiness and peace of mind" flows throughout the creation.  In your daily life, you can be aligned with your bliss point as long as you  remain aware, humble, and truthful.

Clinical Psychologist Dr. E. Douglas Brown will be our guest speaker on this rebroadcast show.

It is the power that leads to success in your own field in your own way."

She will also speak from her book "To Be Or Not To Be - The Choice is Yours." She says that it is her passion and purpose to help people build their self-esteem to the extent that they dare to make their dreams come true. - High Self-Esteem speaks to the level of integrity you have; real inner confrontations won; reconciling your inner self with your outer self which is the basis of this book. It is also about assessing our real courage and how honesty is attained and internalized. High self-esteem is much more than just feeling good about your self. It is reflected in your personality, your productivity at work and at home with your family, your character, your general way with people, and the spirit that you carry with you always.

I, Nazim Rashid, Life Coach, Personal Development Specialist, Author and Radio Talk Show Host is covering the show today on Self Esteem based on my book Reconnected-How To Be A Mentor To Your Child-Self. Having a high self-esteem is essential to anyone’s growth and development. Having low self-esteem opens the doors to untold dark possibilities as those possibilities match how you feel. Self-esteem pertains to how you experience yourself, how you think and feel about yourself, not how other people think or feel about you. Genuine self-esteem is you trusting you, you believing in you, you having confidence in your own mind and in your own ability to judge; You experiencing yourself as deserving of happiness, you perceiving yourself as a decent, worthwhile lovable person. Often when you hear people talk about self-esteem, you hear simply that it means “how you feel.” This by itself is so misleading, for you can feel good by taking drugs or by having the adrenaline rush of robbing a bank. You can also feel good by listening to some surreptitious gossip, being involved in a drive-by shooting, or just watching a thrilling horror movie. You can tell where your self-esteem level is by your self-talk. Listen to this program and raise your self-value and change your self-talk. Get Reconnected by going to www.cloudsofabundance.com

Clinical Psychologist and author Dr. E. Douglass Brown will be speaking with his topic of Bliss Point vs Ego, on this re-broadcast show. A term invented in the fast food industry, the 'bliss point' refers to that point when a person experiences the maximum amount of sensory satisfaction and pleasure from tasting and eating a specific food product. (Doritos chips anyone?) The more enduring 'bliss point' or bliss state” is attained when you stop pretending that your ego is who you are and start to be who and what you are – a human being with a unique personality who is connected to the Ultimate Superior Spirit behind all creation. Some people call this state self- actualization or self-realization.

Clinical Psychologist Dr. E. Douglass Brown is the guest speaker, or this re-broadcast show, to talk about the Bliss Point.

Wise parenting models and guides towards the bliss point.  Unwise parenting models and guides towards the "miss" point.

Clinical Psychologist and Author Dr. E. Douglass Brown is our special guest speaker with his topic - Addictions and Relationships. This is his discussion summary statement: A person’s movement, so to speak towards any goal occurs in the framework of relationships. You cannot give your fullest to two competing relationships. The most important relationship is the one you have with the Creator. A person’s addiction, craving for, or preoccupation with anyone or anything is a recipe for disaster, be it sudden or delayed. Your True Self cannot serve two masters. It takes two in order to form a relationship. A human addiction is comprised of two elements - an ego and what the ego craves or insists on trying to get or achieve.

  1. There is a relationship IQ - true limitations on some persons ability to participate in relationships intelligently and skillfully.

  2. There are interventions to teach positive relationship skills, but they require willingness and self and other-awareness to start.

  3. When limitations exist, for example when a person is unable to articulate emotionally, or unable to generate insight from past experiences,  or stricken with a disability like depression or anxiety, the appropriate response may be reasonable accommodation

  4. Professional interventions can assist in determining whether intervention or accommodation is at hand.

  5. In relationships there are "hopeless" situations - We need to recognize when to accept reality as it is now and when our hope is anchored in an unrealistic expectation. -

Instructor/Imam Benjamin Bilal is our guest speaker on this live show with his topic "Respect For Our Inherent Human Worth." This is his show discussion statement: No baby is born consciously knowing what his or her "race" or "religion" is.

We will read and expound from the chapter "Twelve Principles of Recovery" taken from my book Reconnected-How To Be A Mentor To Your Child-Self. The Twelve Steps of Addiction associated with the Alcoholics Anonymous organization have some good points that need to be recognized when we fall into faulty behavior. Even though the Twelve Steps and my Twelve Principles were written with alcoholism and drug addiction in mind, the program can be used for other character defects such as - Anger, Abuse, Compulsive disorders, Overeating, Gambling, Sexual, and Controlling issues. -- When accepting a new life for yourself and realizing that you have to first forgive yourself and others, just saying the words alone may not be good enough to internalize real change. This is why following a program methodically with a solid commitment, and demonstrating the new you by being the example of what you are now believing, you can have more reassurance of a new path for yourself. This is the first installment so we will start with the 1st Principle "We allowed our lower selves to control us regarding our addiction, and admitted that our lives thus had become unmanageable."

Imam Benjamin Bilal will the guest speaker on this re-broadcast show addressing the timely topic of Spirituality part 2, continuing his discussion from his last visit.

Contemporary Spiritual Teacher Charlotte Spicer is our special guest speaker today to talk about The Dynamics of a Healthy Relationship. She will discuss ways in which to improve our Relationship with Life and embrace our ability to build the life that serves us in healthy ways and cultivates peace in our inner and outer reality. This is her show statement and description:

Life is all about Relationships, the most important being our relationship with God, our Creator or Source, whichever label you use. But the next most important relationship, beyond that with family, friends, partners, co-workers, neighbors and even strangers is our Relationship with Ourselves, which is at the core of all of our life experiences. But relationships aren’t limited to other human beings. We also have a relationship with Money, Food, Death, Sex, Change, Authority and our personal possessions.

How healthy or dysfunctional is your relationship with yourself? The Outer is a reflection of the Inner. Simply look around at the external reflections that mirror back what resides in your conscious and subconscious mind. Are you experiencing conflict? Are you harboring resentment and withholding forgiveness?

Author, hypnotherapist, Certified Life Coach, Master Energy Healer, Jennifer Masters is our guest speaker on a live show, with the topic; Relationships- Molecules of Emotion. She says that every thought that we have impacts our body. Whether positive or negative. Thinking I AM SICK can make us sick. Thinking I AM VIBRANTLY HEALTHY can convey and add to the body wellness. Our minds create our illness, coupled with emotion we can make ourselves ill.  This same theory can be used on relationships. When we complain about our lover, husband, wife....  we begin to feel more negative, we create conflict inside the relationship.

When we think loving thoughts about our mate - we increase the love between our partners and our selves. Every illness has an emotional component (and thought) attached to it. www.jenniferelizabethemasters.com

Dr. Sheran Mattson will be our special guest speaker, on this re-broadcast show,  talking about how EFT- (Energy Freedom Technique) can be used to unblock emotional areas which are preventing our future growth.

Some of us eventually make it to a state of freedom from bondage to fleeting urges, affiliations, and ego-attachments.

E. Douglass Brown will start a new theme with his topic of Bliss Point vs Ego, on this re-broadcast show.

Here is a quote from that chapter: "How do we know what the frequency is of the thing that we want, so we can tune into it? The only element that we have control over and that we own, are our feelings. It is our feelings that align us with the objective that we seek. Spirituality is a connectedness to Source, our source, our beginning, our Creator, also is a willingness to be influenced by the attributes of God. Being 'in tune' is the same thing as saying that you are 'connected.' What brings you back to Source, brings you back to the real goal that you have, brings you back home where it is warm and comfortable? It is your feelings. You have to be in touch with your feelings. You have to know what feelings you are feeling and what feelings you want to feel."

"Author and international healer, Jennifer Elizabeth Masters says, "Everyone at some point has issues with codependency and addiction." Underneath it all are feelings of not being good enough. Focusing on ourselves with a soft focus instead of beating ourselves up changes our perspective. We are very hard on ourselves. Being compassionate, loving and tender with ourselves is what The Divine wants from us. It does no one any good to be self deprecating. Self love is the key to healing all emotional suffering and pain.

Master Child & Family Therapist Jef Gazley is our guest speaker on this re-broadcast show from 9/3/11. He will continue his discussion from his last visit. Looking at unhealthy attachments we have the birth of co-dependency and in this unhealthy bonding we have responses that are manifested later in life. Two of those responses are repetition compulsion and trauma bonding. His statement on these two discussion topics is this - "If one has grown up in a traumatic or dysfunctional family, that person often accepts the blame and shame and is then delayed in their individuation due to developing what is called a repetition compulsion. A repetition compulsion is repeating a self-destructive pattern or behavior without adjusting that behavior and with no chance of ultimate success. These wounded children when they become adults become trauma bonded to the type of person who originally abused or let them down." and the the cycle continues.

Family Therapist Jef Gazley willl be our guest speaker on this re-broadcast show from 8/20/11. today.

E. Douglass Brown will start a new theme with his topic of Bliss Point vs Ego. The more enduring “bliss point” or bliss state” is attained when you stop pretending that your ego is who you are and start to be who and what you are – a human being with a unique personality who is connected to the Ultimate Superior Spirit behind all creation. Some people call this state self- actualization or self-realization.

He will discuss one method he employs called Emotional Freedom Technique and Energy Psychology. When children don’t have validation, the emotional scarring starts taking place and problems begin. Lack of validation is responsible for most problems youth are having today. They have a spirit inside that is needing attention so badly that their spirit compels them to act out hoping someone out here will hear the real need inside. It is the parents’ responsibility to provide constant validation. Parents need to know and recognize the spirit inside the child; talk to it; tell the spirit that you love it. Their spirit or soul is very important to the child and should be important to the caring parent. Their spirit belongs to them, is special to them, is unique to them and should be respected by anyone who is in their personal environment. Their soul should be honored and respected by both the child and the parent. The parent should support and encourage the child to honor their spirit within.

Psychologist Dr. E. Douglass Brown will join us again to continue his discusssion from his last visit. We will start with the effects in the adolescent period.

This is a re-broadcast of Jef Gazley's show from 9/11/2010 We will have Jef Gazley, master therapist, author and entrepreneur on the show today. We will discuss Validation as it applies to adolescents. On my list above, validation is the number one need with our children. This is where we begin. Our youth need to know that: - They are okay inside - They are not “mistakes” - They are wanted and not some result of a “one-night-stand” - They have value - They have a reason to be alive - Their spirit deep inside is loved - They have real meaning here - They have a purpose for being here.

Imam Benjamin Bilal will join us as our special guest today.  This is an archived show from July 9, 2011. -  We will be back live next week. - Regarding Spirituality he says the following:

"Spirituality" is not to be seen as separate from the material and social life of man. The material life is actually the densest form of spiritual existence, which is the "true" existence. Real life is pertaining to the life of the soul, or what I have dubbed the 'breathing conscience'. It gives birth to proper emotional, mental and psychic life - all of which are invisible and represent aspects of the spiritual life. In reality, they are all ONE! "Spirit" only means "influence" and if you can get control of the invisible things that influence your invisible life on a daily basis, you can maintain control over all of the various manifestations of that life, which will allow you access to peace, freedom, and wellness.

Dr. Buffy Wooten will be our special guest today. Her discussion statement is this: - Understanding your emotions and using them for your good - Many times our emotions are considered a hinderance or a liability--that they confuse our judgment and create obstacles in the process of making good and sound decisions. However whats little understood is that our emotions are hardwired in us and therefore serve a specific and higher purpose. They are actually intended to aid us in our judgement and facilitate decision making that serves us and causes our decisions to represent who we are and what we want and need.

Simple laughter exercises, laughter meditation, and Principles of Good-Hearted Living can help bring balance, optimism and harmony into a person's life and into the world. I often have attendees think of a number between 1 and 10 (low to high) that represents how they are feeling - physically, emotionally, mentally. I ask them again at the end of our laughing hour, and they report higher numbers at that time. When asked how they feel, I get responses like: energized, relaxed, I'm in less pain, happier, no worries. One of my favorite responses, from a lady at a Red Hat program, was "I feel like going home and cleaning my house!"

We will know ourselves better, make better choices, apply "consequential thinking," evaluate and re-choose, motivate ourselves and choose optimism as our daily regiment. We will also learn to give of ourselves, develop empathy for others, learn how to pause before anger sets in, and use the analytical part of our brain which offsets the anger response, recognizing the signs of danger and protecting our peaceful state of mind.

We will read and discuss the end of the 11th Principle which is "We seek through prayer, meditation and studying God’s Way, to improve our conscious contact with God, and to improve our love and respect of God, praying for the power to carry God’s Will out in our lives." The 12th Principle is, "Having increased our level of faith and God-consciousness, as a result of applying these principles, we are carrying this message to humanity and we begin practicing these principles in all our affairs."  - This discussion will be taken from my book Reconnected-How To Be A Mentor To Your Child-Self. When accepting a new life for yourself and realizing that you have to first forgive yourself and others, just saying the words alone may not be good enough to internalize real change. This is why following a program methodically with a solid commitment, and demonstrating the new you by being the example of what you are now believing, you can have more reassurance of a new path for yourself.

We will read from the 5th Principle which states: We admitted to God, and to ourselves the exact nature of our wrongs. In order to be truly effective in the freeing process, admission has to come from our own hearts through our own lips. We can’t rationalize refusing to do so by saying that, "God is All Knowing, so He already knows my character defects, therefore I do not have to admit anything." This emerging from isolation through the open and honest sharing of our terrible burden of guilt, brings us to a resting place where we may prepare ourselves for the next principle. This reading and discussion originates from my book Reconnected-How To Be A Mentor To Your Child-Self

We will read from the Co-dependency, Attachments and Addictions chapter of my book Reconnected-How To Be A Mentor To Your Child-Self. Co-dependency is, “A set of maladaptive, compulsive behaviors learned by family members in order to survive in a family which is experiencing great emotional pain and stress.” If a person is “maladaptive,” they are displaying an inability to develop behaviors which get their needs met.    Co-dependency is another form of unhealthy attachments. The original concept of co-dependency was developed to acknowledge the responses and behaviors people develop from living with an alcoholic or substance abuser. However, over the years, co-dependency has expanded into a definition which describes a dysfunctional pattern of living and problem-solving developed during childhood by family rules.

Author, Medical Director and Founder of the Pressman Center for Mind/Body Wellness, Clinical Professor Emeritus at Temple Medical School in Psychiatry and Chairman Emeritus of the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Dr. Maurie Pressman will join us today as our special guest speaker.  His statement on Co-Dependency is this: "Co-dependency or addiction are outgrowths of the way we work as personalities, and the "cure" arises from knowing the self and calling upon the magnificent power of the soul-within.

Master Therapist Jef Gazley is our special guest today as he will continue his discussion from his last visit. Looking at unhealthly attachments we have the birth of co-dependency and in this unhealthy bonding we have responses that are manifested later in life. Two of those responses are repetition compulsion and trauma bonding. His statement on these two discusion topics is this: "If one has grown up in a traumatic or dysfunctional family, that person often accepts the blame and shame and is then delayed in their individuation due to developing what is called a repetition compulsion. A repetition compulsion is repeating a self-destructive pattern or behavior without adjusting that behavior and with no chance of ultimate success. These wounded children when they become adults become trauma bonded to the type of person who originally abused or let them down." and the the cycle continues.

Clinical Psychologist Dr. E. Douglass Brown will be our guest today.  His statement on Co-Dependency and Addictions is this:  "Substance abuse or addiction is co-dependency compounded. An addict depends almost exclusively on chemistry to engage the world, to ward off demons in the mind, to hold the sense of security hostage, and to attract companions. The addict depends on the source of the drug to supply it, depends on the drug to bring delight and relief, depends on others to rescue the addict when the abuse brings castatrophe, and depends on someone to believe the addict each time the addict cries, 'Never again!'"

Therapist Jef Gazley willl be our special guest today.
