The 2020 election has come and gone so in this episode we will take a look at which states have passed new cannabis legislation. Guess what? There's some exciting stuff! Secondly, we will take a look at the role of the budtender. Budtenders play an important role in the cannabis industry. They know the product and are often the first and only guidance a patient may have on their cannabis journey. However, cannabis is medicine. You cannot work in a pharmacy without having training, a certification or licensure, yet it is acceptable for someone with little to no training to dispense and recommend this plant medicine to patients. Should there be a national organization for budtenders? Should there be a requirement for education or a certification? Join me as I explore this complicated topic and pose some food for thought.
