"Diet." We have a love hate relationship with that word. We all know what it's like to commit hard to a rigid plan, hit a roadblock, and then lose steam or even backslide entirely. In this episode, I share what I believe are three keys to making your diet last. Quantity, Quality, and Longevity are the three factors that supercharge your health habits when taken into consideration. Please enjoy today's episode.

Have you ever dreamt of competing at a high level? Maybe even on a world stage for the chance to be recognized as the best in your craft? Sam Burkett knows a little about this. As a Kona-bound Ironman athlete, Lt. Col. Burkett is a medical doctor, father of two, and husband. You could say he knows a thing or two about competing priorities, staying motivated, and building healthy habits.

In this episode, we talk about control, more specifically self - control. You're right, this is NOT a sexy word, and the conversation we typically have on this topic is one - dimensional. This conversation expands our view of self - control as we discuss the two ditches of control: under - extending self - control by not trusting our gut, and over - extending control beyond ourselves. I encourage you to take responsibility for your actions by trusting your decisions and moving past fear, doubt, and insecurity ... I encourage you to de-stress your life by letting go of what you can't control ... and I give you practical steps on how to do this by changing our beliefs through the stories we tell ourselves.

In life, and in health, we learn primarily through stories. To-do lists, curriculum, textbooks, etc. lack the impact that a simple story can pack. If you find yourself on a journey into greater health, or are wanting to rewrite the story you're living, then you'll find comfort and clarity in hearing my own story. In this episode I cover eating disorders, depression, identity, and much more.
