Efiong speaks on his Nigerian heritage and how it has shaped and molded him into the man he is today. Also how cultural assimilation can change who we are in this world.
Some key thing to take away from this episode is to remove your pride and your ego from the equation. Pride and ego can get in the way of growth and Efiong believes a real mans vulnerability helps him grow and be a better stronger man.

In this Episode I got the chance to speak to Spencer Pupp of Spikes Ice. Hear how this frozen beverage was able to get crowd funding and start growing across a couple of states in a few short years.
"Because of Spikes' alcohol content, Twyman and Gettelfinger had to get approval to sell it from state and federal regulators. At the federal level, that's the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau. Getting a distributor's license took more time than they expected."
With well over 75,000 vacant lots, Detroit has become the place to bee! These vacant lots are serving as pollinator habitats providing food security and shelter free from chemicals. Detroit Hives, Inc; a 501c3 nonprofit is working to transform these vacant lots into bee farms for the education and conservation of pollinators. In less than two years we have educated well over 1 million people on the importance of bees, expanded in seven locations with 35 beehives buzzing in the City of Detroit.

In the fall of 2012, Lisa launched Sister Pie on Thanksgiving out of her parents’ Milford kitchen. She baked and sold forty pies, which may not seem like much now, but it felt like a heck-ton then. As 2013 began, Lisa enrolled in the d:hive Build (now Build Institute) business class, joined FoodLab, and continued to sell pies and cookies via email blasts to family and friends.
