Kathy Spaulding. ‘Tis the season to shop – at least, that's what the world would tell us. Many people spend countless hours looking for the best deals to give the most wanted gifts. Have you considered what you truly treasure? What lengths are you willing to go to to acquire it? During this series we’ll explore how the world influences us to treasure things, and what Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:19-24: "Lay [our] treasures in heaven for that is where [our] heart will be."
Bill Menser. Single. Married. Straight. Gay. Queer. Trans. Cis. Our cultural moment puts so much emphasis on gender and sexual expression that it makes one wonder: what does it mean to be human? Who am I? Who has the authority to answer that question? The Bible teaches that we are uniquely made in the image of God and that only He has the authority to impart identity. Christians: “You are not your own; you were bought at a price” (1 Cor. 6:20). Jesus suffered and died to offer you eternal meaning. Purpose. God-given, soul-satisfying identity in Christ alone.

Dennis and Kaku lead a church in Izu, Japan where only 1 in 1,000 people are Christians. New Day has supported their ministry for 30 years and look forward to their annual visits and updates. It's such an honor for us to be a part of what they are doing on the other side of the world.
Pastor Marilee: The word allegiance means to give your loyalty, support, and commitment - to give a cause or country higher value than yourself. By such loyalty, many patriots have fought and died to protect their countrymen. But only one man died to protect us all from the effects of sin and death. Jesus committed himself to the cause of redeeming humanity. The only proper response is to commit our lives to him in return. In this series, we will consider how to pledge allegiance to Jesus as King. We will consider what it looks like to value his kingdom above all else, especially in light of the pressure to align ourselves with political causes and candidates. “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ” (Philippians 3:20).

Cameron Wright: Blessed are those who find wisdom! For she is more precious than rubies. Her ways are pleasant. Her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed (Proverbs 3:13-18). By studying the book of Proverbs, the simple gain prudence and the discerning obtain guidance (Proverbs 1:4-5). In this series, we will unpack several major wisdom themes and apply them to our lives. What a perfect fit in our year of being rooted in Jesus. He is the embodiment of wisdom: the way, the truth, and the life.

Bill & Marilee Menser. This Greek word describes how God intends his people to fellowship, participate, partner, and contribute in the Kingdom. We are called to fellowship with one another through our connection to Father, Son, and Spirit. With the communion bread and cup, we participate in the body and blood of Christ. By giving our time, energy, and finances we partner with ministers of the Gospel. And empowered by the Holy Spirit, we all have much to contribute in word and deed. What a rich Kingdom word: Koinonia!

Cameron Wright. Those who live connected to Jesus burst with life at every turn! He is the vine, we are the branches (John 15:5). If we remain rooted and connected to him, we will bear life-giving fruit: the fruit of the Spirit. In this series, we will explore what it looks like to cultivate love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Gal. 5:22).

Jimmy and Chloe McKee live in Detroit with their four children. They have deep roots at New Day, and were ordained by Cameron Wright alongside Bill and Marilee Menser. In 2020, they were sent out to pursue church planting in Detroit, and they launched Antioch Detroit Church in their home with a small team in August 2022. New Day has been a key supporter to the McKees throughout this journey, and they're grateful to be able to visit New Day and share what God has been doing in their corner of the city.

Pastor Bill. Your heart matters! The Bible says that everything you do flows from your heart (Prov. 4:23). It’s the emotional root system of a human. A tree with good roots produces good fruit; a tree with bad roots produces bad fruit. And the mouth speaks what the heart is full of (Matt. 12:33-34). In this series, we will investigate issues of the heart, explore how God can heal us at the deepest level, and experience greater freedom in Jesus!

Pastor Marilee & Kathy Spaulding. We all have questions! – especially when so much confusion swirls around us in this world. Everywhere we turn, loud voices champion their views on life, on relationships, and even their opinions about God. In this series, we’ll turn to Scripture to unpack important issues we face in our society. We can ground our thinking in God’s Word, act accordingly as Jesus' followers, and prepare ourselves to respond to these issues in the conversations we have with others.

In this 4-part series, we will walk the road to resurrection with Jesus. On the road through Jericho, anticipation builds as Jesus gives sight to the blind and salvation to a tax collector. The road into Jerusalem explodes in celebration as crowds shout: “Hosanna!” Suffering marks the road leading to his crucifixion. And finally, he rises victorious and equips his disciples before taking the road of resurrection to the right hand of the Father in heaven.

Pastor Bill. In 2024, the Lord is calling us as a church family to put down roots. We seek to anchor ourselves to the truth of God’s Word, personally to Him by the Holy Spirit, and relationally to one another as we pursue the unique callings of this body: New Day Community Church. In Colossians 2:6-10, the apostle Paul writes encouragement for believers to be rooted, built up, and established in Christ. Some roots will be new, and some will form as a re-establishment of roots affected by trying times or drought. Join us in putting down ever-growing roots into Jesus.

Pastors Bill & Marilee Menser. As 2023 comes to an end, we look back full of thankfulness for what God has done this year. This service will be a time of celebrating all the ways we have grown in 2023. We will also look forward to what God has in store for the coming year. Pastors Bill and Marilee will share direction for our church in 2024 and invite you to seek God for areas of focus for the new year. “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water…” Jeremiah 17:7
Pastors Bill & Marilee Menser. We enjoyed a simple and endearing family-style service on Christmas Eve. What a delight to celebrate the birth of our Savior all together with the kids staying in the main service too. We will even celebrated a baptism!
Kathy Spaulding. Malachi touches on many themes that have been built, layer upon layer, over thousands of years in the Old Testament. This little book activates deep, rich Biblical motifs like covenant faithfulness, blessing, and messianic hope while calling God’s people back to him. Malachi also tees up expectations for a messenger to prepare the way for the Messiah. God’s people waited 400 years with that hope in mind, but we get the benefit of turning a single page in our Bible to read how Jesus fulfilled every promise. He gave his life to establish a new covenant, a new kingdom, and a new creation.

Pastor Cameron. Hear! Listen! This is important! The Lord and creator of all the earth loves you and never ceases to amaze. He overflows with compassion, grace, loyal love, and faithfulness. Make him your Lord, your God, and worship no other. Be devoted to him in heart, soul, and strength. Scripture delivers this message to us in Exodus 34:6 and Deuteronomy 6:4-5. In this series, we will gaze upon the beauty of the God who loves us and calls us to love him in return. We will examine how he reveals himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Stop! Listen! And respond as you see him for who he is!

Pastor Bill. People renovate their homes to improve broken, damaged, and outdated structures. Some buildings fall into such disrepair that the only option remaining is demolition. Similarly, Christians sometimes find their faith crumbling, in need of renovation, and might feel like Thomas who doubted the resurrection. Jesus responded to Thomas by coming close, extending his hands, and sharing his wounds (John 20:27). In this series, our goal is to find Jesus in the place of doubt and deconstruction in order to join Thomas on the other side of the rebuild with a faith-filled response: “My Lord and my God!”

We enjoyed hearing a sermon and an update from Dennis and Kaku Sager. Dennis was our first youth leader here at New Day more than 25 years ago. Dennis & Kaku have been leading a vibrant church in Japan where only 1 in 1,000 are christians. We get to be a part of this important work that they are doing as we support them in an ongoing basis.
Pastor Cameron. Music and poetry enhance our experience of life – giving voice to what we feel inside. Wouldn’t it be great if Christians had a playlist for life’s many seasons?!? We do! The Psalms offer praise, prayer, and poetry for times of celebration & lament, and for times of remembrance & hopeful expectation. In this series, we will learn about the different types of Psalms and how we can use them as a model for expressing our emotions to God: praising him, taking refuge in him, trusting in his promises, and delighting in his word.

Pastor Cameron. Healthy community doesn’t just happen, it requires work. Relational entropy is pervasive and must be intentionally overcome. Following Christ is a team effort. Our faith must be personal but never private. Join us as we explore essential ingredients for establishing a community for spiritual, relational, and emotional growth.

Pastor Bill. We can learn so much from the lives of others! That is one of the reasons the Bible contains so many accounts of real people. We can learn from their victories, be cautioned by their failures, and evaluate the result of their approach to life with God. In Hebrews, we are encouraged to “...consider the outcome of their way of life…” (13:7). We will consider the outcomes of Daniel, Ruth, and Elijah, among others. But it all starts with Father God: understanding Him is the foundation for understanding everyone else’s life story.

But it all starts with Father God: understanding Him is the foundation for understanding everyone else’s life story.

Marilee Menser. Jesus came to restore our relationship with God! The “Romans Road” is salvation explained in five simple, yet profound, verses. New Day kids have learned these verses and will share them on his special Sunday. During the sermon portion of service, Pastor Marilee will share from the book of Romans—Paul’s letter to the predominantly Gentile church in Rome. We, being Gentile Christians ourselves, have a lot we can learn from this book about God’s plan of salvation and righteousness for all people.
Bill Menser. The Bible has so much to say about prayer. God hears the prayers of his people! The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective! The prayer of an upright person pleases God! And yet so many Christians struggle to pray consistently with the faith and energy that matches the power of this practice. After all, there are so many kinds of prayers; there are so many ways to pray! Where do we start? How do we remain steadfast? In this series, we will dig into the postures and practice of prayer.

Pastor Cameron: Peter and John said, “We can’t keep quiet about what we’ve seen and heard” (Acts 4:20). These men were disciples of Jesus. They were his friends. They saw the miracles. They heard the teachings. They were witnesses to his resurrection! Now they were empowered by the Holy Spirit to go make disciples and share the good news about Jesus. After all they experienced, it would be impossible to keep quiet! In this series, we will talk about how every Christian is called to share what they have seen and heard about Jesus.

Bill & Marilee Menser: “Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:54-57). Join us Easter Sunday to celebrate the victory we have in Jesus!
Hosanna in the highest! Join us on Palm Sunday, as youth from the WorshipArts training and discipleship program lead us in songs of praise and proclaim the good news: that the King has come into His city to be with His people.
Pastoral Staff: We all have questions! – especially when so much confusion swirls around us in this world. Everywhere we turn, loud voices champion their views on life, relationships, and even their opinions about God. In this series, we’ll turn to Scripture to unpack important issues we face in our society. We can ground our thinking in God’s Word, act accordingly as Jesus' followers, and prepare ourselves to respond to these issues in the conversations we have with others.

Pastor Bill. Let me introduce you to Jesus: He is the Word in the beginning, God in the flesh, full of grace and truth. He came to seek and save the lost. He embodies the kingdom of God at hand. He fulfills the Law and Prophets. In this series, we will spend two weeks studying how Jesus is portrayed in each gospel account. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John emphasize different aspects of who he is, but in all their accounts Jesus says the same thing he says to you today: “follow me.”

Dennis was our first youth leader here at New Day more than 25 years ago. Dennis & Kaku have been leading a vibrant church in Japan where only 1 in 1000 are Christians. We get to be a part of this important work that they are doing, and today we will hear Pastor Dennis speak!
We will spend the whole service waiting, praising, listening, and responding to the move of the Holy Spirit. As a church body we want to get even stronger at something we already value - corporately hosting his presence and participating in what he's doing.

Most months, we do series based on a topic, theme, or passage. But this month we will have “One Up” sermons each week instead. This will enable us to touch on a variety of issues in the middle of summer. Come each week ready to hear something God has led the speaker to share, and find out what’s “Up!”

Scott is from Detroit, Michigan and Stephanie is originally from England. They met in Canada in 1998 where they received training at the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship School of Ministry both as students and as staff. After they married in 2001, they served for six years at New Day Church, Kalamazoo as Assistant Pastors where they oversaw the counseling, prayer, and prophetic ministries. It was during this time that God gave them the vision for the church plant here in Knightsville, SC. In September 2008, The Jones family relocated to South Carolina with their two sons and two daughters– all under the age of 5 at the time! Scott and Stephanie emphasize family & relationships and literally began the church plant by reaching out to families while at the local park or in a restaurant. Those God moments are what helped to begin New Day Church.

Peter Webb. What’s our goal when we gather as the Body of Christ? This month, we’ll look at aspects of how to use our individual gifts and identity in the gathering of the saints. This includes some of how the Bible defines roles for men and women, as well as the use of spiritual gifts. Though this is too big a topic to fully cover in one month, we hope to help create clarity and freedom in the functioning of the gifts God has given each individual.

Peter Webb. Easter is the annual reminder that through faith in Christ we have access to hope that overcomes life’s greatest challenges. In the final days of Christ’s life we see Him go from the extremes of jubilation in the triumphant entry to the depth of despair as He cried out “It is finished” on the Cross. The message of the resurrection is the message of Hope.

Pastor Bill. Jesus encourages us to be like “a wise man who built his house on the rock” (Mt 7:24). We do this by putting his words into practice. In this series we will explore how to practice the way of Jesus. We will look at routines you can build into your life that will help you “put off the old self with its practices” and “put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator” (Col 3:9-10).

Kathy Spaulding: Our series title is a play on words from the Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy, in which their group dynamic makes them stronger. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. (Acts 2:42-47 NKJV)

Scott is from Detroit, Michigan and Stephanie is originally from England, U.K. They met at TACF School of Ministry in Toronto, Canada, in 1998, fell in love, trained and worked (in that order!).
They received training at the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship School of Ministry both as students and as staff. They then served at New Day Kalamazoo church as assistant pastors for 6 years where they oversaw the counseling, prayer and prophetic ministries. This is where God gave them the vision for the church plant here in Knightsville, SC. In September 2008, they relocated to South Carolina with their two sons, Samuel, Isaac, and two daughters, Lily and Matilda – all under the age of 5 at the time. Scott and Stephanie emphasize family relationship and literally began the church plant by reaching out to families while at the local park or in a restaurant. Those God-moments are what helped to begin New Day Church SC.

Pastor Mitko and Albena Dimitrov are founders and senior pastors of The River Church in Dobrich, Bulgaria. They founded the church in 1988 when Bulgaria was still under a communist regime, and therefore it was underground at that time; Pastor Mitko faced much persecution. After the fall of the communist regime, their church grew fast with crowds of young people getting saved and it became the biggest church in the city. Their ministry carries a powerful anointing of fresh revelation on the Word of God, taking out the hidden treasures of the Bible and lifting up the finished work of Christ on the Cross.

The holiday season is often a difficult time for people. The expectations of family and fun are often left unfulfilled and many experience mere disappointment. God is not unaware of this pain. Proverbs 14:13 NKJV "Even in laughter the heart may sorrow, And the end of mirth may be grief." I believe that the New Year is a gift that allows us to "turn a page" and start new and fresh. Much of life is determined by how we choose to respond to what has been dealt to us. By choosing to respond with hope and joy and confidence, based upon God's faithfulness and His Word, we are destined to end this New Year positioned to receive more of His blessing and grace!
The Christmas Story. A story we've heard our whole lives. Yet just because it is familiar we shouldn't allow it to lose the impact it deserves. In fact, there probably isn't a story that has held so many people's attention for so long. Nearly everywhere, even in Japan where less than 1% are Christian, Christmas is celebrated. It's a story that has transformed our world. And it has the power to transform our lives. Let's take another look at The Christmas Story!
