DISCLAIMER: This week's sermon topic is rated PG-13.
The Bible is full of great children's stories, and then there are some that should never make it on the kids book shelf.
The story of Sodom and Gomorrah would be one of those. But the author of Jude uses that story not to shock us, but to caution us of what happens when we allow, and even normalize, moral corruption and perversion in our lives and communities.
The story may be unfamiliar, and even uncomfortable, but it's often in these stories we see the depth of God's grace and power.
The heartbeat of Church on the Rock is to help people discover how they can LOVE God and LOVE one another, LIVE with passion, purpose and freedom, and LEAD others to this same experience in Jesus. We simply say, “helping others Love, Live, and Lead in Jesus".

Have you ever looked back at a decision and wondered, "How did I end up here?" I know I have, more than once.
The truth is, most of our biggest mistakes don't happen overnight. They begin with small compromises, quiet doubts, and a heart that slowly dritts. Lately, I've been hearing that word drifting everywhere, in conversations about marriages, friendships, parenting, health, and even our relationship with God.
It seems that many of life's struggles begin not with one catastrophic decision, but with a slow drift over time....
This weekend in Cautionary Tales, we'll discover that every rebellion has a backstory. Through the stories of Scripture, we'll see how a misplaced affection, left unchecked, can slowly lead us away from the Lord, and why Proverbs 4:23 tells us to "guard your heart above all else."
But the story doesn't end there. Through Jesus, every wandering heart can find forgiveness, restoration, and a fresh start.
The heartbeat of Church on the Rock is to help people discover how they can LOVE God and LOVE one another, LIVE with passion, purpose and freedom, and LEAD others to this same experience in Jesus. We simply say, “helping others Love, Live, and Lead in Jesus".

Why is it that complaining comes so naturally? I'm guessing that no one had to teach you how to complain; you simply learned it on your own (and probably became really good at it ).
It is almost as if whining and complaining is just part of being human, and has become somewhat of a personality trait and harmless habit... but what if it is deeper than that? Phat if whining is really an indicator that something spiritually deeper is going on! The Bible actually has a lot to say to the grumblers of the world, and we are going to talk all about it as we kick off our new series “Cautionary Tales" in the book of Jude!

It seems that now, possibly more than ever, the world is pressing hard for us all to believe that truth is always subjective. The appeal, at least in part, is that if I personally believe something to be true and can get more people to agree with me than you can, then I get what I want because “my truth" is greater than "your truth". Now, to be fair, there are likely some things that hold true for my family that other families don't hold to. For example, it's true that everyone at our house has to eat their vegetables if they want any chance at some kind of dessert….
HOWEVER... that doesn't seem to be a truth held at a grandparent's household. In this way, one could argue that some truths aren't to be held so tightly. However, as we get into the books of 2 and 3 John, we're asking what it is to hold to divine truth, truths sourced in the very nature and authority of Jesus Himself, and what it looks like to hold to these truths.

EVERY RUNNER KNOWS..... that if you don't have a good pace, then you won’t finish strong. You'll burn out, fall way behind, or maybe just quit altogether.
When it comes to your faith, the same is true: You need a healthy pace. You and I need healthy rhythms that will lead to a healthy spiritual life, because if we don’t, we too can fall into exhaustion, apathy, and ultimately defeat. This week, I hope you join us as we talk about "Getting Back Your Rhythm!"

DO YOU LIKE BEING COMFORTABLE? I sure do, especially when the weather is just right, the food is tasty, and the company is exceptional.
Everyone likes being comfortable, and there's nothing wrong with that... Except when pursuing comfort becomes the goal. As followers of Jesus, we are never told to chase comfort; instead, we are called to follow Christ. One will lead to an abundant life, and the other to an apathetic one… the choice is yours!

SINCE THE 90'S....
That's how long Kitri and I have known the Brogdens, and for as long as I've known them, they have had one driving ambition: to reach the unreached with the message of the Gospel in the most challenging and dangerous places in the world.
THEY HAVE ALSO BEEN INCREDIBLY SUCCESSFUL AT IT.
I vividly remember reading the early reports, "Letters From Narnia," and thinking, "i want to be where the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit is at work like He is in those places!"
Their story of faith and faithfulness has inspired me numerous times over the years, and l am confident it's going to inspire you this week as well.

LIFE CAN SOMETIMES BE A MESS... and if you are a mother, you know this is especially true.
The reality is that throughout life, we find ourselves in messy situations, whether that's with our relationships, our parenting, our finances, etc. So the question is not, "How do I avoid messy situations?" but rather, "How do I find meaning in those messy moments, and what does the Lord want to speak to me through them?”
That is what we will be discussing this week as we dive into Genesis 29, unpacking how we find meaning in the mess.

Have you ever set a lofty goal, reached it, only to discover that it did not satisfy you in the way you were sure it would?
Over the years, I have discovered the real reason I often feel so apathetic when I’ve finally arrived. It is because the destination, the project, or the product was never the right goal to begin with.
Rather, what they produce is what matters. Connection, experiences, and perspective are what we truly long for. When we realize this, we begin to set very different goals… much like Nehemiah did.

Is God calling you to take a step of faith for your one more? Who will be sitting in that one more seat that you’ve been praying about?
So often, when you start making progress towards what God is calling you to, the mockers start making noise. In the book of Nehemiah, we see that Nehemiah sees his position, possessions, and talents as gifts from God to be used for the good of others. One thing is for sure, when God gives the word to move… pack light and travel fast. You will be surprised to see how God works through your faithfulness.

When God puts a burden in our heart, it often can be our defining moment.
For Nehemiah, it certainly was. When he found out that Jerusalem was still in ruins, and the people were in despair, it gripped him. It shifted something in his heart. He was given a burden for his city and his people.
But what we will discover this week is how God turned that burden into a breakthrough for Nehemiah and the people of Israel.

Being a husband and a girl dad has a funny way of stripping away your pride. Somewhere between hair ties and the constant reminder of how much I need Jesus, I'm learning that real strength isn't about fighting for control.

“Are we there yet?" What would it feel like to have no homeland, no final place for your feet to rest, no safe harbor in a hostile world?
For the early followers of Jesus, as well as many around the world today, this is their reality. They are exiles. They are wanderers. They are outcasts. They are just like Jesus was.
They were headed home… and so are we. The journey is just a little farther than we’d like, but it’s worth every struggle and every step.

I don't know if you had any heroes growing up, but I did, and I'll never forget the day I watched his reputation go down the drain…literally!
I was six years old and we had just moved to Oklahoma. We were staying at a local hotel, and my sister and I had gotten into a fight (Most certainly her fault). The next thing I knew, she had taken my Spider-Man action figure, ran to the bathroom, thrown him in the toilet and flushed him. I arrived in the bathroom just in time to see him swirl down the drain. I was shocked and devastated not only that my sister had done this, but that Spider-Man was apparently incapable of rescuing himself. He had been beaten by a toilet bowl!
But in all seriousness, the Hebrews have some major heroes that they look back at in awe and wonder. The problem is this, from a biblical perspective, there is only one hero of the story. And in case you haven't figured it out at this point in our series, Jesus is a better hero!

I personally know people who will faint at the sight of blood. In fact, I've discovered that lots of people have strong aversions to blood.
It may surprise you to discover that God clearly states that He isn’t interested in the blood from sacrifices. Which raises some really big questions about why so many sacrifices were required in the Old Testament…

The One & The Only, for 1,500 years, one man and only one man was able to do the one thing everyone in Israel needed...make them right with God by making atonement for their sins. God could not have been more clear about their need for a mediator, a high priest, that could approach God on behalf of the people.
The problem was this, every high priest was also a sinner in need of a savior, and as a result every high priest had died... SO FAR.

I often hear people say that the reason they've started coming to our Sunday services is because they want their kids to "grow up in church.”
While I appreciate the idea, I often want to say something along the lines of, "I also think our Sunday gatherings are great, but what our kids actually need is to grow up around parents who are completely surrendered to Jesus.”
I may not know a lot, but I do know this: you can't pass on what you don't personally possess. In other words, if we want to have something to give to the next generation, we must first acquire it for ourselves. This week, we will unpack what the Scriptures say is the precious possession and how to pass it down to those who follow us!

Buckle up my friends! This week we are diving into James chapter five and he ain’t messing around anymore. He has some very specific thoughts about the rich, and specifically about how the rich have treated the less fortunate.
But before you begin to think about how happy you might feel about the wealthy being “called out”, it might be worth considering how they got into the predicament they find themselves in. It also might be worth considering how I can avoid getting into the very same mindset myself.
Spoiler Alert: One of the ways the rich can avoid becoming abusers of poor is through radical generosity, and by way of reminder this week is our Kick-starter Sunday across all campuses for the “One More Vision Initiative”. So come ready to sow into the future of our state!

Have you ever had someone "all up in your business?"
Someone who inserted themselves into your personal affairs, was attempting to make decisions for you, or tried to offer unwanted advice? This is a little bit how the book of James feels when reading it.
James seems to be getting all up in our spiritual lives by challenging, and making us take a good hard look at how genuine faith should produce genuine fruit in the life of every believer!

How we see the world shapes how we feel, and transforms the way we live. Seeing how things were framed by James, the brother of Jesus, gives us a perspective that is meant to mature our faith.
James points out that the struggle is real for us, but we also have an opportunity to experience great joy and gain endurance through troubled circumstances.
James urges us to stay humble and hold loosely to our plans. Life is fast, so aligning our plans with God's will is essential in building a healthy framework for our lives.
We can't wait to see what God has for each and every one of us in The Book of James.

3,2,1, ACTION... THAT'S WHAT THIS SUNDAY IS ALL ABOUT, ACTION!
We have been dreaming, scheming, and talking a lot lately about our One More initiative. We have been asking specific questions, and casting big vision for the future of COTR, but now it is time to turn these conversation into commitments!
God has been doing some amazing things, and we believe it is only the beginning of what is to come as we step into this historic moment as a church. Don’t miss out!

WAIT WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT THIS SUNDAY???
Many people seem to appreciate Sunday sermons, direct conversations, even being challenged regarding deeply personal issues, like forgiveness, parenting, and even topics like marriage seem to be topics which are largely appreciated when taught on.
But I’ve always found it intriguing to see how nervous we get when talking about money, especially in church.
I have also discovered that the Scriptures do not avoid this topic in the slightest. It’s almost as if God knows how sensitive we are about this issue and thus He jumps right into the deep end of discomfort with us. So the question is, do you trust the Father’s motivations when it comes to the issue of your money?
Let’s unpack the uncomfortable together!

WHAT IF WE TOLD YOU THAT JOY, EVEN IN THE MIDDLE OF TRIALS, LEADS TO GENEROSITY?
That's exactly what we're diving into this week, based on 2 Corinthians 8:2. This isn't just poetic language. It's powerful truth when your joy is grounded in Jesus, no matter your circumstances. Jesus lived it. Paul preached it. Now we get to walk in it.

YOU DO WITH IT?
Would you sit down for One More meal you favorite people, go for One More ride with your best friends, have one more deep conversation with your kids? What would you say if you had One More breath?
Often the final moments of our lives are filled with frivolous things, but not for Jesus. He takes full advantage of every moment in His final days... and because of what Easter represents, He is ready and waiting to have one more encounter with you!

Keeping our focus on God all the time can be a real challenge. Life is full of clutter and distractions, and often those things can get prioritized above God. Even if we did not intentionally mean to, we can easily slip into getting our focus off God and onto other things, which is why developing a habit of fasting can be very beneficial.
Incorporating prayer and fasting into our spiritual journey with Christ can be one tool we can use to help keep our focus on God!

The Bible is the story of God's goodness! In light of His goodness, our sinful choices become all the more tragic. Yet, no one was able to resist the temptation to sin from Adam to us...no one but one man, Jesus.
Because He endured our punishment, we are able to enjoy God's presence again. Better yet, because his sacrifice was sufficient we get to stand before God spotless. Not by our own righteousness, but because of His. This means that when we fail we run to the father not from him! This means that when we need grace the most we go to God not hide from Him!
This week we will unpack the last chapter in the story of the gospel. We will discover why holiness matters, and I promise you, the reason will surprise and delight you!

No matter how many carrots you eat, seeing in the dark is hard.
From the fall to the fulfillment, God has been painting pictures and making a way. This week we will be looking at things that were once a shadow and dimly lit in the Old Testament book of Leviticus, become as bright as an Alaska Summer Day in the New Testament book of Romans.

The message of the Gospel does not begin with our sin and brokenness, it begins with God's greatness and goodness.
Before we can fully comprehend the "Good News", there are some things we have to understand about God Himself. As we launch into this 5-week series, our desire is that you would discover how truly good and incredible the Gospel is and that it would reshape how you think and live as a follower of Jesus.
So, buckle up my friends and don't miss a single week as we take a deep dive into the book of Romans. I can't wait to see what Jesus has to say!

Do you like when your skills, knowledge, or abilities are being tested?
Whether we like it or not, testing can be beneficial to gauge whether we really are as good at something or have as much understanding about something as we thought.
When it comes to our faith, the apostle Paul encourages us to regularly “test and examine our faith.” In Paul’s final words to the Corinthian church, we are going to discover what having a genuine faith is, and why it is so important for the life of every follower of Jesus.

Jesus extends a terrifying invitation in Mark 8:34…“And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, Jesus said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
In other words, the first two steps on the pathway to following Jesus are saying no my own desires that are contrary to Jesus, then letting my life be shaped by the sacrificial love of Jesus displayed on the cross. In other words, I’m invited to live a cross shaped life…the “cruciform” life.
This week we will be unpacking Paul’s words in 2nd Corinthians to discover why this matters and how we can do it!

As we close out the book of 1 Corinthians this week, we will be looking at the most significant issue Paul is going to be addressing with the church in Corinth…
The resurrection of Jesus and the resurrection of the dead.
According to Paul, everything hinges on this reality for us as Christians, and so it is not only imperative that the Church in Corinth understood what it means, but that we to have a deep understanding of the resurrection because it quite literally changes everything!

Do the spiritual gifts in the Bible seem somewhat confusing and chaotic to you? If so, I have good news…you're in good company!
They seemed somewhat chaotic and confusing to the very first churches in the Bible too! This week the apostle Paul is going to make the claim that we could actually have CLARITY and not CONFUSION regarding these things.
So, I invite you this weekend to come and discover what the Scriptures actually have to say about the supernatural gifts of the spirit!

What do you think about after hearing the phrase “Your body is a temple.” Is there a toxic tolerance going on in our own spiritual lives? Is there something we’re not seeing in light of God’s Word, or are we knowingly avoiding the responsibility of dealing with it?
We tend to think that our churches today have a lot of issues, but really the churches back in the Bible had just as many as we do today. For the church in Corinth, one of those issues was sexual immorality. This week we are diving into 1 Corinthians chapters 5-11. Looking forward to seeing how the apostle Paul handles sexual immorality and offers ways to deal with it.

We’re excited to kick off a brand-new series in First and Second Corinthians, Tough Love!
Over the next seven weeks, we will be taking a deep dive into these powerful letters written to the believers in Corinth, a city you find strangely similar to our own culture. These letters are filled with both challenging truths and radical grace, addressing issues that were shaping the early church, and, we believe, will still resonate with each of us today.
So consider yourself INVITED to join us as we dig into these tough but timeless truths and discover how the revelation of Jesus will shape our lives in ways we may have never expected!
If you'd like to read ahead or study up before Sunday, 1 Corinthians 1-4 is a great place to start and the focus area for what we will be covering.
You can also find questions in the app to guide your reflections.
We’re really looking forward to digging deeper into God’s Word and seeing what He has in store for us!

At least nobody I know loves to be criticized, but how can I know the difference between criticism and genuine caring and concern? Is it possible that we hear what we feel rather than what was said?

Church Hurt, like any hurt, is a real thing. Just like in any family or friend group you are a part of there will be times where you get offended, hurt, and even mistreated. Conversely, there might be times where you do the offending, cause the hurt, or mistreat someone. Just because we are the church, does not mean these things won’t happen.
Why is that?
Because the Church is a community of imperfect people, pursing a perfect God. As followers of Jesus we don’t always get things right, this includes those in positions of leadership. But we have a good God who is in the process of purifying His bride, the church, and bringing His healing to any wound that may have been cause at the hands of His people. Looking forward to diving in further with you Church Fam!

It is probably safe to say we live in some divided times.
You can feel it in our society, communities, and nation. Unfortunately, because we are so divided we tend to group together with those who agree with us and push those who don’t agree further away. This can lead to demonizing, and more division rather than healthy dialogue and fruitful disagreement, but is there another way forward?
Thankfully, we have Jesus as our model who was no stranger to disagreeing with others. Jesus lived among those who were wildly different from Him, yet people were still drawn to Him because of the unconditional love and grace He offered to everyone! That same Jesus is inviting us to join Him in the same journey.

This Sunday we will begin gearing up for what’s to come next week. We’ll be taking a deep dive into our passion for missions and the role each of us plays in making the name of Jesus great at home and around the world.
The fields are ready for harvest, and it’s time for us to step out in faith and embrace our calling!

Influence changes lives—but it’s risky. Paul boldly engaged his world, and Stephen’s faith cost him everything. Both made a lasting impact that still speaks today.
Are you ready to embrace the risks of influence?

The time has come for the promise of the Holy Spirit.
Receiving the Holy Spirit is like receiving a gift that keeps on giving. As believers and followers of Jesus Christ, we all have been sealed by the promised Holy Spirit, but what if there is more to experience? What if, The Holy Spirit is not only meant to be experienced at the moment of salvation, but what if He is meant to continually fill and refuel us for the mission He has called all believers to?
This week we are diving into what it looks like to not only have the Spirit indwelling in us BUT also continue to fill us!

After three years with Jesus, witnessing His suffering and resurrection, He appears to you multiple times. Then, on the Mount of Olives, He suddenly ascends into the clouds. Would you feel confused and frustrated, thinking He's gone for good? But what if this departure was part of the plan, necessary for you to carry out the mission: “Go and make disciples!”?

“Incarnation”…the very word makes me think of Christmas and Christmas Eve services. The moment God entered into our world in the form of baby. God became flesh and bone!
But, what if this wasn’t the first time God had shown up in sacrificial skin? What if the Incarnation wasn’t a one time event, and what if it was still happening?
This week we begin our new series “The Chosen and The Church” and we’re going to explore how from Sinai to the Son of God, He has been making His “dwelling among His people!”

This week we're wrapping up our "Community Is" series. We are going to be looking at the things that kill community, people who are the pillars of the Christian community, and how to value those individuals.
Personally, I'm super excited about what this week has because we're talking about what community is and how it should be the most compelling thing about the Christian life.

To experience deep connections in a community a shared vision and purpose are critical. When we have a common purpose we should also be moved to become participants not just spectators. A Christian community isn’t just intended to be a place of connection; it should also be a place where we’re contributing.

Faithfulness is essential in every season of marriage, and we have the ultimate source to guide us—God Himself.
We'll explore how faithfulness can look like loving our spouse even when it's challenging, being present when it matters most, offering Godly counsel, and building them up when they feel weak.
The best part? We're not expected to do this on our own. God promises to give us the strength and help we need.

Imagine if your faith and service in Christ is seen and heard as a joyful godly movement, wherever YOU are. The result would be joy. In the book of Acts the church was certainly on the move, but so can we! We are meant to be in a godly movement in our communities, meeting both practical and spiritual needs for those around us. Real needs require the right solutions, maybe YOU ARE the solution to that need. After all you and I are the church.

Have you ever had to spend much time in a waiting room? Typically spending time in a waiting room means you are waiting for some sort of news, whether good or bad. Often being stuck in a waiting room can leave us feeling helpless and out of control.
All too often we as Christians spend much of our time in the waiting room of life. We feel stuck, or trapped, unsure what to do next, or where to go in life so we decide to just wait... But what if life wasn't meant to be lived that way. What if we understood that what Jesus said about Himself returning for us is true, AND that we are returning to Him. How should these two realities change the way we think and live?

The invitation of Jesus is far more than an invitation to “get saved”, it is an invitation to follow Him, even into the fire. Maybe you’ve wondered why that seems so hard, or maybe you’ve wondered why it’s so important.

I’ve been thinking a lot on a passage of scripture from John 20:11-18 lately. It says: Having said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away."
All week long I’ve had the thought that it is possible for us to completely miss Jesus, even when He’s been standing right in front of us all along!
I’m praying that each of us are able to “see” our Savior as more than a gardener because of the reality of the resurrection!

Have you ever messed up before... I mean like really messed up? Sure you have. We all at some point in life have made a mess or mistake that we regret.
Whether you did something in a relationship you shouldn't have, said something that caused a mess, or a bad habit you've picked up that is damaging to yourself and others, we ALL have made mistakes. Peter was no exception. Even though he lived closely with Jesus for three years, we see him still making major messes. Through the life of Peter, we see that God is not only willing but EAGER to redeem our messes, and that even our past mistakes don't prevent God from using us in the future.

Most of our lives we have been encouraged to confront our fears and overcome them. Every now and then it's worth taking a moment and questioning conventional wisdom. For example, I’ve always wanted to ride a grizzly bear. So, should I just confront my fear of being mauled to death and hop on the next one I see?
Maybe there is some wisdom in maintaining a healthy sense of fear. The author of Ecclesiastes certainly seems to think so, especially when the results of fearlessness could be fatal!

"It’s the little things in life…” We say things like this quite often, but do we actually believe it?
Many people say it’s the little things in life that bring the most happiness, but they often continue pursuing more in hopes of finding real meaning and purpose. Expressing gratitude is a result of acknowledging who God is and what He’s done in your life. In this series, we have looked at a pattern for prayer and covered confession, praise, petition, and lastly gratitude.
Staying hungry for what God offers requires recognizing "need". A need for more than just the physical. We close out our 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting this Sunday and explore how gratitude can be a powerful tool in difficult situations.

If you did not grow up in “church world”, or even if you did, prayer can seem rather mysterious. Is it a monologue or is it a dialogue? How do I “hear” God speak? Why does He answer sometimes and not others?
This week, we are in part two of our series “Stay Hungry” and are raising the question, is God worthy of praise even when we’re experiencing pain? I look forward to unpacking the difference between giving God praise and expressing our gratitude.

But perhaps the most obscure statement he ever made was to His own disciples, “I have food that you don’t know about!” Join us Sunday as we initiate 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting and discover a food that nourishes the soul like no other.

The Jewish people had waited more than 750 years for Emmanuel, “God with us”. A baby born of a virgin and King of the Jews, had arrived and the questions on everyone's mind were: Will the Deliverer actually deliver on the promises of the prophets? Will the Messiah meet our expectations?
By the way, what do you do when the Lord doesn’t live up to your list of expectations?

This Sunday concludes our teaching series on the Book of Proverbs with the topic of generosity and greed. Here's a few questions you may ask for a friend:
Can it be greedy to give?
What is the difference between greed and being frugal?
Can I be too generous?
Can my generosity rob others?
These may be hard questions but fortunately we can find the answers in the wisdom of Proverbs.

I don’t know what you think about all those rich men north of Richmond, but I do know that the Proverbs have a lot to say about wealth and poverty. This week we are asking “Is wealth a sign of God’s blessing?” and if so, then “Is poverty a sign of God’s displeasure?”
What do the scriptures say about wealth and poverty and how do we separate our Christian cultural ideas from biblical teaching? I’m Glad You Asked….

“Hi, Ho, Hi, Ho, It’s off to work we go!” If we’re entirely honest, it doesn’t matter how chipper the Seven Dwarves seemed to be about work, most of us are not whistling our way to the workplace! In fact, many of us spend our lives working with the express goal of getting out of work one day. The scriptures have a lot to say about work…and about laziness. What if our work were about something more than retirement and our labor was leading us to the Lord?

Week Three: "Experiencing restoration and discovering purpose in painful places." (Job & Esther)
Your character is shaped by adversity but is formed by your perspective. Job has lost his wealth, possessions, and children in rapid succession. Then he also loses his health and the respect of his wife and friends. Both of Esther's parents have died, and she is being raised by her cousin and is being groomed as a concubine for one of the most powerful men in the world.
NEITHER LOSS NOR LUXURY DEFINE US, HOW WE RESPOND WILL.

Week 3: "The Ugly" - When the "Good" Turns "Bad"
In the final week of our series, we will confront the uncomfortable reality that even those who start with good intentions can sometimes veer off course. We will explore the story of Joash from 2 Kings 11-12 and witness how someone with a promising beginning can end up in a place of darkness. This lesson serves as a reminder that we must guard our hearts and actions, understanding the consequences that arise when the "good" in us goes "bad."
Join us in this teaching series as we explore the relationship between faithfulness and failure, and see how they influence our lives and the lives of those around us.
"The Good" Embracing Growth through Challenges and "The Bad" The Ripple Effect of Our Actions. Contrasting the good with the bad, we will explore how the "good" things in life often come with their share of "growing pains." We will delve into the story of Hezekiah from 2 Chronicles 32, discovering how his faithfulness and resilience during difficult times led to remarkable outcomes. Along with how "the bad" choices and actions can have a significant impact on others. We'll take a look at the life of Ahab from 1 Kings 16:29-34. Understanding the results of living and leading in a manner that either helps, hurts, or hinders those around us.
Next week we will confront the uncomfortable reality of "the Ugly".
