In this week's sermon, we look at Romans 11:33-12:2 and explore some of the nature of God and also discuss how we should respond to God.
I strongly felt led by the Spirit to offer some biblical wisdom to guide us as a church through some challenging times in our world. Godly wisdom will guide both our actions and our motives as we engage in thoughtful discussions and seek to be love and light in these days.
Life is filled with uncertainty, but we can rest secure in God’s truth and guidance in our lives. Trusting in God gives hope in hard times.
God never meant for His people to simply survive, but rather through Him to thrive in this life. In this message we will talk about where our overcoming hope comes from, why we can have it, and how we can use it to thrive.
Also stay tuned after the message for a quick PSA from Pastor Doug Jones.
In this sermon, I talk about how we have an eternal hope in Christ. As believers in Jesus Christ, we have the hope of spending an eternity in heaven with the Lord.
In this sermon we discuss how God's love is personal and intimate, like a mother's love. God loves His children and we can take comfort and hope in knowing that He knows and loves each of us intimately.
In this first sermon of our new teaching series, we take a look at the 23rd Psalm and examine how God's constant presence brings hope even during the most challenging seasons of life.
Main Takeaways: -God will provide for me, I shall not want. -God is leading me, I can trust in Him. -God restores my soul, I can be at peace. -God is always with me, I am not alone. -God will sustain me, I will not be overcome.
In this last sermon in our "The Life and Ministry of Jesus" series, we take a look at the last moments that Jesus had with his disciples and discuss the implications of his predicted return to earth in the second coming.
We all desire for this pandemic to end, but should our focus be on going back to the way things were? Or is there something God wants us to take away from this? Together we will look into that question as we talk about the Great Commission.
Scripture used: Matthew 28:16-20 Ephesians 4:11-16
Questions given at the end of the lesson: - In what ways are you right now fulfilling the Great Commission? - How is God trying to reach me during this time? - Am I focusing on God's will or my own when I ponder the end of this pandemic? - What does God desire to happen to His Church when this pandemic is over? - What does God desire to happen to His Church right now?

For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. -Mark 10:45
This is our first recording on Youtube and is a simple recording of that video recording. The reason this recording is so long is that we address what we are doing going forward as a church and some encouragement at the end. Feel free to check out our Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFno7Tix2Pok0270k5Haxhg We will also continue to put on recordings in our service recording player (they will be the audio of the video recordings). And calling the crowd to Him with His disciples, He said to them, “If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? For what can a man give in return for his soul? For whoever is ashamed of Me and of My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels -Mark 8:34-38
Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?” Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented. As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with Him, I am well pleased.” -Matthew 3:13-17
Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous. -Hebrews 13:4
Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person. -Colossians 4:5-6
However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him— these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God -1 Corinthians 2:9-10
(I included communion in this recording because I felt what is shared at the end goes with the sermon. I invite you to listen all the way through)
Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death came through sin, and so death spread to all because all have sinned— sin was indeed in the world before the law, but sin is not reckoned when there is no law. Yet death exercised dominion from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sins were not like the transgression of Adam, who is a type of the one who was to come. -Romans 5:12-14
By faith, we understand that the universe was created by the word of God so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. -Hebrews 11:3
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. -Jeremiah 1:5
For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when He was betrayed took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it, and said, "This is My body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of Me." In the same way also He took the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me." - 1 Corinthians 11:23-25
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. -2 Timothy 3:16-17
Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. -2 Peter 1:20
The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned. -Isaiah 9:2
They went out and preached that people should repent. They drove out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them -Marl 6:12-13
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Humble yourselves before the Lord and He will lift you up. -James 4:7,10
Don Rogers shares how God has blessed him and Africa through the ministry of Empowering Lives International
For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words, you will be acquitted, and by your words, you will be condemned.” -Matthew 12:34b-37
If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing right. But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. -James 2:8-9
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. -Romans 8:18-21
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. -Hebrews 12:1-3
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. -Romans 15:13
Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God. But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned.Even though we speak like this, dear friends, we are convinced of better things in your case—the things that have to do with salvation. -Hebrews 6:7-9
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; But a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. -Proverbs 31:30-31
He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. -Luke 24:46-48
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles -1 Corinthians 15:3-7
They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Blessed is the king of Israel!” Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, as it is written: “Do not be afraid, Daughter Zion; see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey’s colt.” At first his disciples did not understand all this. Only after Jesus was glorified did they realize that these things had been written about him and that these things had been done to him. -John 12:13-16
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. -Hebrews 11:1
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many. -Mark 10:32-45
Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? -Mark 8:34-37
Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all sexually immoral. -Hebrews 13:4
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. -John 16:33
He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. -Micah 6:8
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. -Matthew 5:6
