It's been another week of video games, friends. They don't stop coming and the don't stop coming. But hey, new Alien movie today! I won't see it until next week, but that's ok. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Discord: https://discord.gg/EHpsTkguxz
For a video game podcast, we sure didn't play a lot of video games. But that's ok because we got to talk about America's favorite pastime: Racism. And, let me tell you, there is no one better to talk about the effects of racism than a couple of suburban white boys. Hoo boy. Discord: https://discord.gg/EHpsTkguxz
Really, if you think about it, it was an Xbox 541. The math is pretty simple. 360 (The first numbered Xbox) + 1 (The second numbered Xbox) + 180 (The degrees of reversal on their DRM policies) = 541. I should post a reddit thread explaining this.
There was another show! And thank goodness because, boy howdy, do we have a lot of good news to bring you! Discord: https://discord.gg/EHpsTkguxz

And as the rest of the parishioners began to hum, the sound reverberating off the cavern walls, Geoff opened his eyes and began to speak with his other, dark tongue. Slowly, as if being birthed from the desecrated ground, an E began to rise. It's skin sloughing off in large chunks, exposing the rotting sinew of muscle below, the E opened up its eyes and howled. Geoff closed his and thought "It Has Begun Again". Discord: https://discord.gg/EHpsTkguxz

These post-holiday, pre-GOTY shows are tricky because nothing is happening, and it's hard to talk about any games we are playing as we are likely trying to build out a list. So...you...uh...you want to talk about beer?
This is always a weird week to do a show because nothing happened. It used to be that we could talk about all the video games and trinkets that we fucked with post-holiday. But we are old now. And old people don't have any fun.Discord: https://discord.gg/EHpsTkguxz
Now Plachy said that I would forget to put the spoiler warning here in the show notes and I think that's just insulting. I don't think he really spoiled anything big in Starfield, but if you really care about having every aspect of that game UNSULLIED for your laborious playthrough, we stop spoiling things at 38:20. Again, I don't think it's a big deal what he "spoiled", but if you're that flavor of asshole, you may want to avoid the first part of the Starfield talk. Don't worry, we give you plenty of warning. There was a time when running a video game website was cool. You were actively a cool person while doing it.
And while that time has passed, it doesn't mean we can't reminiscence a bit. We had some cool experiences.

You cannot see him, but you know he is there - sitting on this throne of darkness, just beyond the space where the shadows overtake the room. You approach, apprehensive. "What question have you?" His voice seems both incredibly quiet, and booming with the power of ten thousand Bon Jovi concerts. You step back - startled - but then compose yourself. You clear your throat "Ahem...sir....I...uh....I just wanted to know if....um....Is Deckard Cain a member of The Nephalem?" You cannot see him, but you're sure that a sly smile in the darkness. Listen, everyone has an Animal Kingdom, most folks have a Hollywood Studios. It's rarer, but there are still plenty of folks with Magic Kingdoms. But to have all 4? That IS a Pretty Hate Machine.
Someone once called time a flat circle, and that's probably accurate. People are talking about American Football, Dead Space is the best game of the year, and we are LANing again. Thanks for listening to our new podcast, Bullshot. We hope to have a website up soon.
Now that we have shed the Freshman 250, we can start again. Our New Game Plus. We carry all the gear from our first 250 episodes into this new playthrough.
250 of this goddamned trainwreck. This episode we travel back in time to 2008 and talk about hit titles like Dead Space and Modern Warfare 2. We also give you a complete rundown of why no one cares about DC.
It's been a tumultuous week for the boys, but they have written the full 2023 season of Bullshot. Enjoy the season premiere where we kill off one of the main characters! We also talk about Josh Duhamel for whatever reason. Also, have you heard of this Fortnite game? It's by the folks who made Unreal, of all games. And, finally, it's the best looking Forza yet.
It's that time of the year again, friends. That's right, Plachy and Fish can objectively tell you the 10 best games of the year, what games to look forward to in 2023, and which Taylor Swift album is best. Listen to this, and you're set for the next 12 month.
Ho Ho Ho. Look who it is. Is this the last episode of the year? Who can say. But I can say this: We hope that you have a wonderful holiday, however you choose to spend it.
Oh hello! It's good to see you again. Yeah, I have been well, Thanksgiving was good, and I'm looking forward to the holidays. And you?
SURPRISE, IT'S A BULLSHOT!
This is how things are going to be for a little bit until things settle down. This is a packed episode, from Hockey talk to water bottle safety, we chat about a great many things.
Oh, and wall penises.
The schedule for episodes is going to be a little wacky while the job situation settles.
But we are WACKY.
This week we don't talk about the Mario trailer because it's fine, it's gonne be good, we can all get our tender bits in a knot over Chris Pratt, but is that really how you want to spend your Saturday afternoon?
Oh it is?
Oh my bad.
Short show this week and I wish I could tell you that we will be back next week, but next week is what the Romans called "Gigafucked".
I don't know what that means, but it's bad.
We can talk more about it in two weeks. See you then!
This is a really great episode. It has almost nothing to do with video games, but it's great.
And so it is that time of year again.
Every time an iPhone is activated, Tim Cook gets his wings. "Wings", in this sense, is shorthand for "bags of money" or "the bag".
We also talk about the pantheon of Assassin's Creed games that Ubisoft is still announcing, what Switch gardening game the boys are excited to play, and if they even bothered to watch Sony's State of play.
Just as a reminder, Plachy will be appearing on the Overtalking Podcast (https://overtalkingpod.libsyn.com) talking about The Rehearsal soon. You may want to watch it before listening!
Did you know Labor Day is like Black Friday for ERs? Is that true? I have no idea but it's a funny idea.
You know what else is a funny idea? Car crashes! Thanks for the cheer-up, Tim Apple.
Also, things are really heating up in the Call of Duty Wars.
Hey, it's a late show because we wanted to have the most UP TO DATE rumors about the Apple Event so we could spend upwards of THREE MINUTES talking about it.
Also, if we had recorded earlier in the week, we would have missed out on the activision news, and wouldn't have gotten caught up in the twitter zeitgeist.
Luckily, we are forward thinkers and we have thought forwardly.
Finally, the sequel to the greatest story ever told.
Thought to be consumed in the fires of mount doom, Gollum suffered an even worse fate: he survived the lava only to be fused with The One Ring.
His power seemingly infinite, the Fellowship must now reform, and with the help of an unlikely ally (Sauron), take down Shin Gollum and save middle earth from nuclear holocaust.
Going to concerts can be rough, even when you're still on the good side of 40 (and have a gaping neck wound).
But not as rough as trying to survive in a simulated galaxy.
Neither of those are as rough as fighting an alien from SPACE.
All that to say, you deserve a drink.
Jeff does 3 hours, we do an hour and a half. Jeff talks about Stray for 20 minutes, we talk about it for 5.
E V E R Y T H I N G I S A M I R R O R.
Oh also we start the show like 45 minutes in, and that time is split between how depressing the world is, and the SDCC.
Those two things probably aren't related.
Do you like body horror?
Imagine a string of medicated gauss, coiled in a...you know what, you can listen to the episode and find out.
We also talk about Final Fantasy and Gabe living in a yurt.
It's a good time.
Oh ho ho, what is this? TWO episodes in a row? Could it be?
IT IS.
Your favorite 40-year-olds are back talking about games, movies and seizing the means of production (for dummies).
Maybe the joke will land better in the recording? I dunno. Millionaire C-Suite Execs beefing is a genre of humor that I can completely get behind.
Anyway, Plachy promised you a short show, and I ruined that for him. We talk about games, technology, sourdough starter - it's a good show.
Happy New Year!
Finally, a Bullshot for exactly what you come here for: a tight 30 minutes of video games and covid.
You want to know about Halo Infinite? We got that.
You want to know about Omicron? We got that too.
It's the most ambitious crossover since we bred bulls and dogs.
It's Halo Time, friends! That means not only have Jim and Fish played a game, they played the same game (and can talk about it (!)).
We also had a bunch of news including this year's Keighleys. Featuring the 2nd best game that came out in March as the Game of the Year.
What a fucking sham.
Have you ever wondered the best way to cook a turkey? How about Bourbon County Stout's origin story?
No?
Well too bad!
We are back on our bullshit this week, so strap in.
We have Composed an audio file that sits squarely in our Domain of knowledge. We have taken on the Mantle of Responsibility for your enjoyment, and hope we are successful in entertaining you. If you don't like this, you can go to the Library, nerd.
Man, this was a bummer of an episode all around.
We had 2 zoom crashes, so editing was a nightmare. If you're bummed out, maybe skip the last 20 minutes of the show so you don't have to hear about the the nightmare of stuff coming out about Activision.
I mean....I dunno....Inscryption was pretty ok?
We played some GAMES this week, friends. Boy howdy, it's like a real podcast again.
Also, Fish has some thoughts about Mass Effect, and Plachy is getting deep into the League of Legends lore.
I like to keep the episode titles PG, but the other options were "Fck Muppets" "What if Cthulu Fcks?" You'll notice I put the * in those words so that they were no longer swears. It's like magic.
Oh right, the episode. This week we talk Lust, Guardians, and DIY Wing Sauce.
Also, if you're interested in the finer intricacies of music publishing, do we have a TREAT for you!
Hey, remember us?
Yeah, we talked a couple days ago about video games and onions? Yeah, that was us. It was a weird time. Luckily, things are back to normal and we are at war with the Covenant again...
Wait, what?
Throw away your onions, it's time to learn the truth about Italian Shepherds.
While we are at it, we will tell you about the Apple Event, why Bungie is fucking up, and when you can finally play Cyberpunk.
Dread is HERE.
Plachy and Fish spend most of the episode gushing over Metroid Dread, but they also talk about controllers and other news items I have since forgotten since editing the episode.
This was supposed to be out yesterday, but it's here today instead!
Turn your motion smoothing on, boys and girls - it's game time.
While the takes have cooled, the news has not.
Plachy is also involved with a global coverup, but we can't talk about that.
Back so soon?!
Why yes, things have happened, and so we have been called back to checks notes the day we normally record.
Lots of hot takes in here.
I bet John Gibson is blasting the Butt Rock today.
Speaking of Butt Rock, it's a light week, so Plachy and Fish talk about the local goings on, music, and The Village People Lineup.
There is a little treat for folks at the end of the show.
Hooooo boy, this is a long one! I don't think we expected to talk about music for 30 minutes, but here we are.
Also, we do discuss 12 minutes in full, and that discussion ends at 50:30. So fast forward if you still want to be "surprised" by that game...
Finally, we wanted to put a link to Plachy's Wife's fundraiser here, in case you had a couple extra bucks.
https://supporting.afsp.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.participant&participantID=2384179
It benefits the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and is worth your money. If you have time to donate (or share the link) that would be awesome.
Big Week.
Good thing we delayed this episode for news reasons (and certainly not because Fish took two days off work to play destiny for 16 hours a day) because there is a lot of news!
Also, some seltzer advocacy.
12 Minutes Spoilers End at 41:00
We back!
After a 2 week hiatus, Fish brings a secret shame to the podcast. The boys go a little above their paygrade talking about serious things...and Plachy crashes a plane every time he flies one.
EARTH IS FUCKED and the band Pet Symmetry is out of here! Continuing the story of their new music video “2021: A Personal Space Odyssey” the band along with designer Arianna Rudawski have created a love letter to classic top down games like Toejam and Earl in the browser based game EARTH IS FUCKED.

Hey, didn't we just see each other?
So this episode is kind of a weird reverse of 207 where we spent the first half hour talking about nothing and then did the show.
Time is a flat circle.
Better late than never I always say. Especially when it means that we can talk about the EA Play event, Steam Deck, and Emo Music.
Don't feel bad if you don't want to listen to the last 30 minutes of the show. It's just Fish and Plachy hanging out.
Hey, we're back! After a scheduling snafu last week, we return to you now to comment on all of last week's news! Exciting stuff. Also, can we talk about Michael Bay's Transformers movies for a second?
It's kind of wild to think that Metroid came out in 1986 and then Symphony of the Night came out ELEVEN YEARS LATER - and we call the genre MetroidVANIA.
Man, I bet Samus is fucking PISSED.
Podcasting 101: Don't ruin a punchline with your episode title.
Well I didn't go to college, so I will do as I please.
In fact, I am going to spoil another thing in this by linking to this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62nv6oq0MuQ.
See? I DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT THE RULES.
Not much has happened since we spoke last. Except, of course, Nintendo's FUCKING BANGER of a conference.
Come hear what you missed, what you saw, and what we are looking forward to.
E3 2021 is both underway and essentially over.
We cover the Keighthrees, Koch/Cook/Cock's media bonaza, Ubisoft, Square Enix, Microsoft, and a bunch of other stuff!
It's been a wild E3 so far, and we aren't done yet.
I haven't written the word PrE3 in 5 years.
Wild.
Speaking of wild, it's a wild year for Apple's WWDC conference, and it seems like it will be a wild year for E3. Luckily, Plachy has excellent notes.
200 episodes.
They came and went like a late evening shower. Here we are, on the other side of 200, and no better for it.
But hey, sometimes it's the journey and not the destination.
And our journey continues...
So everything is on pause in anticipation of E3 2021 and all of the announcements that will pour from it's half-deserted mouth. Unfortunately, that means that there isn't much new to play, and there isn't much news to talk about.
However, the show must go on - so it do.

Hoo boy, you would think for a couple of guys who spent some time inside a college at one point in their life, they would know how to do simple math (like knowing 10am - 2am is 16 hours, not 14).
But NOOOOOOPE.
Anyway, E3 is coming and that means that this show is light on video games, but heavy on laughs. You know, like EVERY show? nudge nudge wink wink

Boy, this Apple vs Epic legal battle sure has been a thing. Lots of dirty laundry aired thanks to un-redacted court documents.
We talk about that, Battle Royal Division, Resident Evil, and lost cats.
This is a weird one.
We didn't really play any video games, but we had a lot to talk about.
The key here is consistency. You are getting a show even though we didn't have a show to give. We have manifested it with magic.
It's a big week for news and video games.
Plachy and Fish break down the Mortal Kombat Movie, Baseball Options, Apple Events, and ponder why World of Darkness fans are all so fucking weird.
Mortal Kombat spoilers end at 19:30
With Fish “roughing it” this week Jim invites Alex Kidd from the Malt Couture podcast on to co-host. We talk about Outriders, Devil May Cry, and go over the news.
Check out Alex at www.instagram.com/dontdrinkbeers www.dontdrinkbeer.com www.patreon.com/dontdrinkbeer and listen to Malt Couture wherever you get podcasts!
Plachy is sick and Fish hasn't played any video games but, you know what, they do a show, Goddamnit.
And you'll laugh - oh, you'll laugh, don't worry about that.
In fact, the only thing you should worry about is that Plachy hasn't sneezed since Vietnam.
The boys are back with their tales of woe, video games, news.
Mobile games and baseball are back, baby!
We missed a week which means there is a lot to talk about.
Important things like bunk beds, dog poop, and music videos.
What a time to be alive. Go get vaccinated if you can!
Our perfect Final Fantasy game uses the Ratatouille system for magic.
Speaking of magic, JK Rowling is a horrible human but it's ok if you still like Harry Potter.
But it's not ok if you like this year's hottest beer because that shit is GROSS.
Is Fortnite a game, or is it just distilled pop culture?
Is Magic the Gathering the Fortnite of card games?
Does the white PS5 shell keep that shape when you pop it off, or does it flatten out?
The answers to these questions are not in this episode, but they are fun to ask.
Hot off one of the best episodes ever, we bring you...this episode?
Plachy thought it was important that we get back on our normal schedule, so here you go!
We discuss spending money on free to play games, Blizzcon, and foolish childhood decisions that cost us more than $100k.
Hoooooo LORD what a week.
You thought last week's rants were good, just wait until you get through this episode. We talk about the Mortal Kombat trailer and Six Days In Fallujah.
We should really be hoarding this material for rainy days, but fuck it, we love you too much for that.
Usually, when we each have a patented rant, we wouldn't waste them both in one episode.
But you've had a hard year - you deserve this.
And, as promised: https://defector.com/samer-recognized-a-fart-online/
It's a light video game week, both in terms of games played and news, so the boys sit down and talk Tech.
Plachy spend some time spinnin' while Fish spent some time fucking up his whole setup.
A slow week allows for a long talk about VR, Apple Announcements, and the joys of HDMI adjacent technologies.
Some GamePunchers trivia too, to boot.
Are you in the Market?
NOTE FOR CYBERPUNK SPOILERS: Fish couldn't get chapters to work, so if you fast forward to 54:43, you will avoid our discussion about the "bad" ending to Cyberpunk
Fish has gone full VR-Brain, so he and Plachy talk about that for a little bit.
Then they move on to a list of things in 2020, and talk about what games to look forward to next year.
We talked about a lot of things this episode, but nothing more important than the discovery that the Oculus Quest is basically the same resolution as the Vive.
This has upended Fish's world, and he is basically The Lawnmower Man Now.
We hope you have a safe and restful holiday, friends. It’s been a year, and while it probably won’t get better immediately, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Hold tight, keep pushing - we will get through this garbage together.
Big week in video game land.
Geoff Keighley showed us trailers for a lot of new games, said The Last of Us 2 is the best game, and robbed Sjokz of her crown.
Also, Cyberpunk 2077 came out, and - boy o boy - did we ever customize...
EDIT: Is has been brought to our attention that Sjokz did in fact retain her crown. THREEPEAT BABY. EAT IT GOLDENBOY
ITS KEIGHLEY SEASON.
That's right, friends, the most wonderful time of the year. We are days away from finding out who the best e-sports personality is, and how many GOTYs Cyberpunk 2077 won.
Speaking of Cyberpunk, we do need to talk about that.
You thought we had abandoned you again, didn't you?
Don't lie, it's ok, we know. You've been hurt before and are more than ready to be hurt again.
But you have not been hurt...not yet at least.
What do you think this is? The Last of Us 2?
Plachy and Fish take it back to 2010, when they talked about what they had been playing, and what was happening in the news....and beer?
Plachy, Fish, and Ken (just Ken - from The Overtalking Podcast https://overtalkingpod.libsyn.com) talk about video game hardware launches and Apple's new M1 chip.
We're back?
I mean, I think we're back? This file would indicate we are back. How long are we back for? WHO KNOWS.
Please Note: There is a long silence (10 sec) after the theme song starts. This is because Fish had the volume cranked all the way up on the song, and Zoom was like "nah". We will do better next time.
