Thornwood Elementary conducted an 6-8 week program where boys from the 4th and 5th grade learned the fundamental movements of football and were able to apply all of those learned skills through a football game. Follow-up and post interview questions with some of the players and coaches.

Spring Branch ISD piloted a boys running program at two campuses, This was a 7 week program where boys trained themselves physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally for a 5K as a group. This is a post interview follow up to the program from a 5th grader.

Spring Branch ISD hosts a district wide-employee wellness fitness challenge where the staff members at each campus form teams and compete in 5 categories, which include: Weight lost, minutes of activity, social media highlighting their healthy habits, self-assessment, and participating in healthy events. Team Gym Class Heroes won the challenge for the 2014-2015 school year, and they share the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle.
