This episode features Eddie B (Hawt/L.A.)

With nearly a decade of DJ experience, Eddie knows what it takes to set the groove for any occasion. He is a gem in LA’s underground dance scene where he has been working dance floors and thrilling audiences for nearly a decade. But his experience doesn’t stop with Los Angeles. Eddie has been booked to play in urban hubs across the country including New York, Miami, San Diego, San Francisco and Honolulu.

Whether it's an after-hours warehouse dance party, an ultra-VIP lounge in the Kodak Theater, or anything in between, Eddie will set the perfect rhythm for the occasion. His broad appreciation for music reflects in his unique versatility as a DJ, touching on Deep,Techy, Funky, Jackin' – in a word, all things HOUSE. He also dives deep into the realm of smoothed out downtempo much like Mark Farina's Mushroom Jazz.

Eddie has opened for Jurassic 5 and has also shared the stage with an eclectic mix of musicians: Bitter:Sweet, Shaun Escoffery, Lee "Scratch" Perry and West Indian Girl, just to name a few. In the DJ world, Eddie has graced the decks alongside world class talent such as: Doc Martin, DJ Heather, Lance Desardi, JT Donaldson, Chuck Daniels, Switch (UK), The Littlemen (UK), Special Interest (UK), Fries & Bridges (France, US), Marques Wyatt, Andrew Macari, Diz, Jason Hodges, The Rurals, Q-Burns Abstract Message, and Slater Hogan & John Larner.

When not DJ'ing, Eddie enjoys expanding his experience by scratching, spinning and sampling as a member of a band. He is a former member of the electronic band ELEPHONIC and is currently part of the triphop ensemble UNA, both of whom have music licensed to television and motion pictures.

Eddie's obsession with music was apparent even in childhood. A first generation Mexican-American, his earliest memories are infused with his family's love affair with mariachi. The youngest of three, Eddie’s musical tastes were also strongly influenced by his older brothers. The “baby brother” would listen in wonder as his siblings played records of greats such as the Rolling Stones, The Doors, Beatles, The Who, Pretenders, Clash, Police and countless others. He witnessed the birth of MTV, resulting in a deep-seeded fondness for all things 80's - Men at Work, The English Beat, The Human League, Simple Minds, Depeche Mode, The Cure, U2… and yes, even Madonna and Janet Jackson! In fact, one might even say especially Madonna and Janet Jackson as they offered Eddie a first taste of the world of dance music that would soon become Eddie's passionate addiction.

His high school years were blessed with the inception of an electronic music station known as MARS FM, more recently known as the famed (but sadly now extinct) Groove Radio. The station further broadened Eddie's musical knowledge and tastes, treating him to the likes of Swedish Egil, Tony Largo and Holly Adams, amongst other on-air DJs. Another one of his favorite shows was 'The Illicit Groove' on KXLU radio hosted by DJ Sonic, now better known as Jason Bentley. These shows schooled him in the world of underground music and laid the foundation for his appreciation of the art of the DJ”and the life-changing music he came to know as HOUSE.

In his college years he served as music director of Occidental College's radio station KOXY, where he delivered a broad musical message to his audience. Melding new wave, ambient, jazz, rock, ska/reggae, drum and bass, punk, hip hop, Eddie artfully touched on just about every genre imaginable.

Currently residing in East LA, Eddie continues to bring his message of musical diversity to the masses, delighting all who are fortunate enough to hear it.
