The Whitby Warriors are your 2022 Minto Cup Champions, outlasting the Edmonton Miners in an epic back and forth game 3. The Warriors were the favourites heading in, and capped off an amazing season with the National title. The Miners made history becoming the first RMLL team to make it to the Minto Final and came half an inch away from forcing OT in the penultimate game.

Last week the sports world descended on Birmingham, Alabama for the 2022 World Games, where Lacrosse Sixes took the spotlight in hopes of attracting the eyes of the LA 2028 Olympic committee. This week on the OTCBPodcast we wrap up the NLL season with friend of the show and NLL Champion Zed Williams of the Colorado Mammoth.
After winning a PLL title, Williams began the NLL season on a new team after a trade from Georgia. And while it took him a little while too mesh with his new Mammoth teammates, by the end of last weekend he had gained 24 brand new brothers.
Jon Abbott also started the year on a new team- the NLL on TSN Broadcast team. A long time hockey broadcaster in Canada, Abbott was thrown into the fire with the NLL this season and didn't miss a beat.

This week on the OTCBPodcast we get you set for Game 3 of the NLL Finals with Dillon Ward and Kyle Buchanan.
Ward and the Mammoth forced the ultimate decider with a very strong performance in game 2, where they outscored Buffalo 7-2 in the second half. One more win, and Ward will finally add the elusive NLL Title to his trophy case.
Buchanan and the Bandits have home-floor advantage and BanditLand will be sold out! But according to the veteran, who like Ward is looking for his first NLL title, his team can't afford to have any bad shifts.
Plus we check in on the on-going sage between the OLA and MSL, Road to the Founders update and of course another round of BoxBets. All that and more on this week's OTCB.
This week on the OTCBPodcast, we're down to two- as the Colorado Mammoth advanced to the NLL Finals to face the Buffalo Bandits
The last time the Mammoth played in the Finals was 2006 against the Bandits where they won their only title in franchise history. John Lintz wasn't on that team but he's been the finals before and has some wise words of advice for his teammates.
Buffalo's title drought is nearly as long, as their last win was in 2008 but loses in 2016 and 2019 still sting. Dhane Smith feels like the loss in 2019 was the best thing to happen to his team, and they're ready to exact some revenge.
Plus a look down the Road to the Founders Cup, the PLL gets going this week and a super spicy round of BoxBets. All that and more on this week's OTCB.
This week on the OTCBPodcast, the Bandits are in and they get a week to relax as Dane Dobbie and the Seals force a game 3 versus the Mammoth.
Jamie Shewchuk and Cooper Perkins have had the best seats in the house for the West Finals so we'll get their perspectives on the Mammoth and Seals respectively. Can Colorado get back to the NLL Finals for the first time since 2006 or will the Seals advance to their first finals in franchise history.
Captain Steve Priolo and his Bandits narrowly swept away the Toronto Rock this weekend- and even the word narrowly doesn't describe how close game 2 was between these longtime foes.
Plus the MSL and OLA continue their heated beef, Jr lacrosse is full-steam ahead, another round of Box Bets with CoolBet Canada and a former WLA player won IceWars.
All that and more on this week's OTCB
This week on the OTCBPodcast- we felt it was a good idea to chat with the four offensive coordinators after the openings games of the Conference Finals.
61 goals were scored in the two games and it was a bad night to be a goalie.
Rusty Kruger has been on both sides of the Rock-Bandits rivalry and now as the OC in Toronto, he's tasked with trying to outgun one of the best units in league history.
John Tavares on the other-hand, has always been on the Buffalo side of things and now with a one game lead in the series, he'll try and focus his troops in hopes of avoiding a game 3.
Jason Bishop is in his first year behind an NLL bench and without Ryan Lee, it would have been understandable if the Mammoth had an off night- that definitely wasn't the case.
Finally, Josh Sanderson from the Seals knows that if his club can play a full 60 minutes, they should be just fine- but if they don't come ready to play Saturday, their season could be over real quick.
Plus a real spicy BoxBet Parlay that you may want to hop on and we ask a very important question about Vegas. All that and more on this week's OTCB.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we've gone from 8 teams down to 4 so that means another chance to talk to some great guests.
We focus on the defensive coaches this week as we welcome Andrew McBride from the Mammoth, Bill Greer from the Seals, Steve Dietrich from the Bandits and Bruce Codd from the Rock.
All four have won titles in the NLL and know what it takes to get over the hump and into the finals- so we task all four with breaking down their teams chances in the best 2 of 3 Conference Finals.
We set you up with another edition of BoxBets and a whole lot more, on this week's OTCB Podcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast, we get you set for the opening round of the NLL Playoffs with four fantastic friends of the show.
When the Rock and Thunderbirds start things off Friday Night, Jon Abbott will have the best seat in the house along side Pat inside First Ontario Centre. We discuss the value of Nick Rose, the importance of a hot start and whether or not Halifax can indeed stop the Rock.
The West semi-finals gets underway in Calgary as the Roughnecks and Mammoth renew their historic, yet very one-sided rivalry. Jamie Shewchuk has played in a few of those games and breaks down the best goalie matchup in round 1, two-3headed monsters as well trying slow down the transition game.
On Saturday, once again the East begins the festivities when Buffalo hosts Albany in what should be a very rough and tumble lacrosse game. Steve Bermel will have colour duties for this one and we ask him if the Bandits will unleash the hounds, can Dougie steal this game and who's depth will play a bigger role.
Finally, Cooper Perkins checks in from San Diego as the West's top-seeded Seals welcome the wild card Wings. Just a few weeks ago, the Wings got their one and only win against a team above .500 and it just so happened to be against the Seals. In a one-and-done showdown, can lightening strike twice?
Plus thumbs-up, thumbs-down and our most ludicrous BoxBet of the year on this week's OTCB.
This week on the OTCB Podcast we welcome NLL Hall of Famer, and newly named HC/GM of the Las Vegas Desert Dogs, Shawn Williams.
Willy is one of the most well liked and respected people ever in NLL circles, and when we left the Mammoth two seasons ago, all the writing on the wall led to Tuesday's announcement.
We talk about the identity of the Dogs, what he's learned about expansion teams over the past few seasons, and how the decision to move to Vegas was made.
There's just one week left in the regular season and we still need to figure out some vital play-off seedings. So we'll give you out Thumbs Up-Thumbs Down from week 21, set you up for Super Saturday and give you another BoxBets Parlay.
All that and more on this week's OTCB.
This week on the OTCB Podcast we speak with the only US born player to reach the 100 point mark- and he's done it twice- Joe Resitarits.
Growing up 30 minutes away from Banditland, Resitarits has been playing box lacrosse for as long as he can remember. Its not your tradition path to the pro-game for an American but it's allowed him to become one of the best US born players ever.
With just two weeks left, we give you our Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down and get you ready for a quiet week 21 - but that doesn't mean it's not do-or-die for a few teams in the Chase for the Championships.
All that plus BoxBets and more, on this week's OTCB.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we chat with one of top young-guns in the NLL, Latrell Harris.
Coming off his best performance as a pro-baller, Harris and the Toronto Rock are the hottest team in the NLL right now, and are peaking at just the right time.
A highlight filled week 19, sees two more teams clinch spots in the Chase for the Championship with just three weeks remaining.
Week 20 will be just as wild as we wait to see who will win the wild-card spot and round out the play-off field.
We give you another round of boxbets, some ThumbsUp and ThumbsDown plus a lot more- all this week on OTCB.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we welcome back one the game’s best leaders, Saskatchewan Rush Captain- Chris Corbeil.
A few weeks ago, Corbs thought he had played his last game in a Rush jersey but the trade deadline passed and he was never moved. Now in what could be his final stretch of home-games, he looking to make amends for a difficult season
Week 18 saw the Rock clinch a playoff spot, the Mammoth won a pair of huge games while the Warriors dropped to 5th after a loss-weekend.
We’ll set you up for a wild week19, talk about strength of schedules and try to get back on track with BoxBets.
All that and more on this week’s OTCB.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we welcome back Mr Luxurious, Mitch Belisle to the show.
Making a name for himself as the colour analyst for the NLL on ESPN, Belisle has been keeping a keen eye on things down south. We talk about the Bandits, Riptide and Fort Worth as we make our way towards to the post-season.
We discuss out top storylines after week 17, get you set for a jam-packed week 18, give you another spicy BoxBet and more, on this week's OTCB.
This week on the OTCBPodcast, No Mercy Mike Accursi, the Head Coach of the Halifax Thunderbirds joins us as his squad is coming off back-to-back loses and will face the league leading Buffalo Bandits in a crucial home-and-home series this weekend.
Keeping with the Thunderbirds, they surprisingly released forward Kyle Jackson from the roster and it caught everyone off guard.
We start the show though, by talking about news out of the PLL that will rule all those who play in the pro-field league, ineligible for the Canadian summer season. It's caused quite a stir.
Plus a look at the week that was, the week that is and give you a real spicy BoxBets- all that and more on this week's OTCB.
This week on the OTCBPodcast, we break down all the trades from a somewhat busy but not so exciting NLL Trade Deadline.
We all thought there might be some major moves as Tuesday's deadline approached but when all was said and done, the teams in the middle of the pack seemed to be the busiest.
Jordan Hall's Georgia Swarm were busy as they acquired Stephan Leblanc from the Thunderbirds via PCLC. How does Hallsy feel about being reunited with his Team Canada buddy? More importantly, how is his body feeling after the Covid break and reaching 800 career points?
Plus, a wild week 15 taught us to expect the unexpected, week 16 could be just as wild and therefore, we want all the goals in this week's BoxBets.
All that and more as go around the NLL on this week's OTCB.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we we talk about breaking news AGAIN, as the NLL has lost another high ranking executive.
Just a few weeks after Nick Sakiewicz was not re-signed and left for the NHL, his replacement- Jessica Berman, who had stepped up from her role as Deputy Commissioner, has now decided to leave the NLL for the commissioner's job with the NWSL.
We don't really know what's next but well try and break it all down for you .
Friend of the Brand, Ryan Smith of the Knighthawks and Chaos is having an incredible rookie season and is loving his time in RochVegas. However, he'll now have a bit of added pressure as the KHawks traded legend, Shawn Evans before the trade deadline.
Plenty to talk about including a wacky week 14, getting you set for an important week 15 and give you another round of BoxBets- all that and more on this week's OTCB.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast, we welcome back the Big Dog, Dan Ladouceur to the show.
Now halfway through this first year as a pro head-coach, Ladouceur and the New York RipTide are still finding their way through the NLL. After their first home-win of the year, the Tide might just be starting to flow in the right direction.
Week 13 was full of upsets and important wins- so we'll give you the lowdown on the week that was. As well as setting you up for the week that is, as week 14 is sure to be just as enticing.
Box Bets, twitter beefs, a birthday and more on this week's OTCB.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we have breaking news that's as historic, as it is curious, with the departure of Commissioner Nick Sakiewicz and the promotion of Deputy Commissioner Jessica Berman,
Berman broke ground as the highest ranking female in pro-mens sports when she was named Deputy Commissioner of the NLLin 2019, and now she's the Interim Commissioner.
We talk about the timing of this move, her plans over the next few months and into the future, plus the magnitude of her new role.
In his first year calling NLL games with the San Diego Seals, Cooper Perkins, along with his partner Nick Ossello, have created quite the dynamic. But more recently, Perkins has launched the LaxMetrics website looking deeper into the analytical numbers of the NLL.
There's separation in the West, it's still a dog fight in the East, the Rush finally make a trade and we've got a busy Saturday.
All that and more, on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we catch up with Good Victoria Boy, Jesse King of the the Calgary Roughnecks.
The 2021-2022 season has been a tumultuous one for King and the Roughnecks. They went 30+ days between games and 50+ days between home-games. Through it all, they've had their struggles but a big two-game weekend could rest things and get them back on track.
A busy Super weekend is behind and we're technically at the halfway point, so the guys give out their mid-season awards even if all the teams haven't played the same amount of games.
Three days of lacrosse, expansion talk (again?), the greatest half-time show ever?, and of course BoxBets!
All that and more on this week's OTCB
This week on the OTCBPodcast we chat with long time friend of the show and a guy always "on the trade block", Dillon Ward.
Ward and the Mammoth are on a four game winning streak and for the first time in a long time, they're putting up serious offensive numbers to compliment their always stout defence.
Last week was full of madness as expected and we'll break it down for you. Then we'll get you set for a full weekend of games leading up to the Big One on Sunday.

Levi is one of the best writers covering the sport of lacrosse and now, he's bringing his in-depth statistical knowledge and a microphone together for an extensive look at numbers and trends in the NLL.

In his first year as a bench boss in the NLL, TK has his expansion franchise team playing as a cohesive unit and believing that anything is possible. They have a very important road game in Saskatoon this weekend and a chance back to back wins.
It was a quiet week 8 but still plenty of story lines to break down and we'll get you set for a busy week 9, where all 14 teams are in action. Plus a booster-shot boosted-parlay thanks to CoolBet and a little PLL chatter.
All that and more on this week's OTCB.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast, we welcome The Kitten as he and the Wings look to bounce back with two home-games this weekend.
After a tough loss to the Albany Firewolves, Corey Small and the Philadelphia Wings have a rare double-home game weekend- a perfect opportunity to get their mojo back. Small has found a nice home with the Wings since signing as a Free Agent in 2002.
Week 7 spoiled us again with some absolutely wild games but it's the young gun goalies making the most noise. Justin Geddie started his first ever game in the NLL and got the win. While Troy Holowchuk came in to relieve a struggling Nick Rose and helped get his team to OT.
A quiet week 8 with just three games, with both the Wings and Rochester playing twice, so not a lot to choose from in this week's BoxBets.
All that and more on this week's OTCBPodcast.

But before we get to the games, Ryan Benesch was flipped from PCLC to Albany as the 1000+ point man is once again on the move. Albany gets the high-scoring lefty to help boost an offense that has struggled to score in their opening two games. We'll break it down from both team's persepctives.
Matt Vinc has been traded once or twice in his career but he's now firmly planted as the #1 with the Buffalo Bandits. Arguably the greatest goalie in NLL history, he's just added another massive trophy to his collection.

First up we break down the action from week1, reminisce about the buzz being back in the arena and talk about some controversial moments.
Then Frank Brown, aka Cousin Brownie stops by to talk about his holiday raffle, we also go into a deep conversation about life on and off the reservation, and how social awareness is having effect on the Indigenous Culture.
Then we hit you with another round of BoxBets brought to you by CoolBet Canada, and set you up for week two.
Sit back, relax and enjoy as we get you all caught up and ready to go on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast, we've officially made it Face-Off weekend and all 14 teams are in action, plus the Deputy Commissioner of the NLL Jessica Berman stops by.
It'll be 635 days between games in the NLL so we go a little long this week breaking down rosters, giving our picks and surprises, plus yammering on about things you may or may not care about.
The NLL Unites program has been long in the making but officially rolled out last week by the league. Berman lets us know how it came to be, what fans can expect and how this new vision has become a working mantra for the league.
Then finally, we get into BoxBets brought to you by CoolBet Canada. We give you our locks and futures, plus the OTCB Boosted Parlay of the week.
It's an exciting time for everyone so sit back and enjoy as the NLL IS BACK!! All that and more this week on OTCB.
This week on the OTCB Podcast we chat with the present and future of the NLL, as Brett Manney and Justin Inacio join the show.
Manney is entering his 13th season in the NLL and as a member of the newly relocated Albany FIreWolves is fired up to get back to battle. He even had to do some coaching during the first week of NLL training camp.
Inacio still has to wait another year until his first pro camp as he's still finishing his time at THE Ohio State University but the 10th overall pick by the Calgary Roughnecks is already trying to make a difference. Reps Services is a new company that hopes to unite players and coaches to help everyone get better.
Plus the Alterna Cup is back, the NLL Unites, CoolBet Canada BoxBets and the transaction wire continues to heat up. All that and more on this week's OTCB Podcast.
This week on the return of the OTCBPodcast we chat with the reigning NLL MVP Shayne Jackson from the Swarm, as well as Reid Reinholdt from the Toronto Rock and of the NLLPA.
But first we need to welcome the newest member of the show- Pat Gregoire has been a longtime guest of OTCB and we finally convinced him to join the dark-side and hop on as co-host.
Jackson was off to an incredible start before the shutdown and while he doesn't like to set too many personal goals, he definitely would like to have the same sort of consistency that saw him record 9 hat-tricks in the Swarms 12 games.
Reinholdt has been extremely busy over the last 18 months as he's taken on the role of Vice President of the Players Association. With the Union opting out of the current CBA, there is even more to accomplish over the next few months than ever before. Plus, he's gotta get back in game shape as the Rock open up versus the FireWolves on TSN, December 4th.
We bring you the first edition of BoxBets, break down the transaction wire and look deep into the NLL on TSN schedule.
All that and more on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast, we welcome Lacrosse's biggest TikTok Star, Tyrell Hamer-Jackson.
That's right, the Vancouver Warriors and New Westminster Salmonbellies face-off specialist and defender has over 250K followers and over 5M likes on the social media app. It started during Covid and it's taken off ever since, as people have become enamoured with the life of a Log-Runner.
Plus the Toronto Rock upgrade their coaching staff, Team Canada unveils their Fall Classic rosters and I get ratioed on twitter that teaches me a valuable lesson.
All the and more on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast, we welcome two men looking forward to so some milestone, firsts; Jeff McComb and JP Kealey.
McComb was promoted to Head Coach of the Rush back in August of 2020 but has to officially coach his first NLL game due to the Pandemic. There may be a few technical differences between his style and his predecessor but there's no doubt in his mind that this group still has what it takes to win it all.
JP Kealey has decided to hang up the lacrosse pads and take his talents to the world of NASCAR! A binge on Netflix planted the seed and before he could change his mind, he packed up and moved to North Carolina to join the Chip Ganassi Racing Team Pit Crew.
It was a slow news week but we've got two great interviews and more, on this weeks OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we've got ourselves a schedule for the 2021-2022 season, so the Commissioner of the NLL, Nick Sakiewicz will join us.
When the NLL season kicks off it December it will have been over 600 days since they last played- so everyone is looking forward to Face-Off Weekend. Sakiewicz is excited for the league to get back in front of the thousands of fans across the country and for the hundreds of players throughout the league. Plus with a new franchise and two new locations of previous markets, its a very exciting time around the NLL.
We'll break the down the schedule a bit, talk about the plethora of games uploaded to the NLL's YouTube channel and let you know who will be coaching the Nanaimo Timbermen Jr A team next year.
All that and more on the OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast, it's an edition of Champions as Mark Glicini, Chase Frazer and Andrew Suitor all join the show.
Glicini and Frazer were crowned PLL Champs on Sunday as the Chaos knocked off the defending two-time champs. Both played massive rolls and both revelled in the excitement of lifting the trophy.
Suitor announced earlier in the week that he would hanging up the pads after a wonderful career and a decade of dominance. He was one of the league's top pugilists and competitors. They don't make 'em like Suits anymore; so what's next for him?
Plus, the FireWolves get new threads, Randy Staats get traded and camps are right around the corner. All that and more on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we welcome back Dan Arestia and Paul St. John.
But first, Paul Rabil announced his retirement earlier in the week and we look back at what made him so successful as not just a Businessman but also a Business, man!
Dan Arestia will share his thoughts on who the next Face of Lacrosse will be as we transition to this new era. Then we'll look at the PLL Championship game between the Whipsnakes and Chaos.
Then, after a successful five year run in Ontario, Paul St. John and the Arena Lacrosse League is ready to expand with the announcement of the ALLWest.
All that and more on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we go full EastCoast Lifestyle talking with Halifax's own Alex Pace and Halifax Thunderbirds' Coach Mike Accursi.
But first, we send our condolences to the family of Dean Hill, who suddenly passed away earlier this week. Deaner was beloved by everyone and had a smile that lit up the room. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
Alex Pace grew up playing lacrosse in Halifax but there were greener pastures in Ontario for his junior career to bloom. Now, entering his second year in the NLL, he's working with Northern Torch to help mould the next wave of Maritime lacrosse players.
Mike Accursi has seen the interest in the game of lacrosse grow from the moment the Thunderbirds landed in Halifax. Their first season ended way too soon but the locals were already hooked, and he can't wait to get back to The Nest and finish what they started.
Plus, the Roughnecks get a new look, the ALL in headed west, signing season continues and 8 players drafted are ruled ineligible. All that and more on this week's OTCBPodcast
This week on the OTCB Podcast we welcome back Bob Hamley, President and GM of the Panther City Lacrosse Club.
PCLC continues to knock off franchise firsts and this week it was their first Entry Draft and they didn't wast the opportunity with the first overall pick. Hamley and his staff had been preparing 18 long months for this moment, and the decision was between Jonathan Donville and Adam Charalambidies.
It was an interesting first round with some movement of picks and jockeying for position- which made for a great draft night.
Plus with Evan Kirk now working down in RochVegas, we talk about the importance of goaltending for young franchises. All that and more on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we welcome the newest member of the Saskatchewan Rush, Matt Beers, and the captain of The OJLL Champions St. Catharines Athletics, Thomas Whitty.
Beers had been a member of the Vancouver Warriors organization since they were the Washington Stealth, winning the NLL Championship in 2010. The heart and soul of the Warriors team, Beers will be a massive loss. But man, are the Rush gonna be an absolute wagon out the back end.
Whitty took his game and teammates to another level in his final Jr A game on Saturday. An instant classic versus the Brampton Excelsiors, Whitty and the Athletics made up for the lost chance to win the Minto Cup by lifting the Iroquois Trophy and drinking some delicious milk.
Plus, the NCBS final was outrageous, the HOF and NLL Draft will take place in Buffalo at the end of the month and we're taking a couple weeks off so we'll chat after the draft. All that and more this week on the OTCBPodcast.
This week on the Off the CrosseBar Podcast we welcome all round great guy and one half of the Back of the Bird podcast, Dan Lomas.
If you haven't listened to BOTB quite yet, you're a few epic episodes behind. Lomas and Co-Host Paul Dawson, are lacrosse's version of Spittin' Chicklets and do a great job getting players to open up and tell stories from the road.
Unfortunately for Dan, he tore his Achilles tendon in the Kodiaks first game of the MSL Classic. But he's not letting it get the best of him and is already turning a season ending injury into a silver lining into bigger things.
Plus NLL Free Agency hasn't exactly been a frenzy and the USBoxla Nationals are this weekend in San Jose. So sit back and enjoy this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we welcome Rusty Bird... errr I mean Wes Berg to the show.
Wes is living down in San Diego full time and has been doing tons of work growing the game of box lacrosse in the SoCal area. He's also created himself an alter ego!
NLL Free Agency begins Sunday and there could be some big names on the move in the next few days. We break down who could go where.
Plus a big hug and speedy recovery to Dan Lomas... all that and more on the OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we welcome back our old friends Steve Govett and Pat Gregoire.
With the announcement of the IOC granting World Lax full recognition, it's another step towards us actually seeing Lacrosse Sixes played in the Olympics. Steve has been a part of the World Lacrosse advisory board as an independent director for the last couple of years, so he's got a lot of the answers to many of our questions. We're in but we're not officially in.
As voice of the Halifax Thunderbirds, Pat Gregoire can't wait to get back inside The Nest on December 4th. He's also been busy with CoolBet Canada as we all hope to be able to lay some best on lacrosse in the near future. Plus we'll talk to him about the 2nd half of the PLL season and take a look at the upcoming OJALL bubble season.
All that and more on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we welcome back the Commissioner of the NLL, Nick Sakiewicz, as well as Dan Arestia from the Lacrosse Flash.
First off, the Commissioner joins us to talk about NLL Face-Off Weekend which will be on December 3-4 with six games across the league. The league also unveiled its new divisional alignment and play-off format. Nick has been very busy, so as always we're grateful for his time.
As for Dan, well he doesn't consider himself an "insider" but we'll try and get as much inside information as we can. With the PLL entering the All-Star break, now seemed like a perfect time to catch up with whats been going on down south.
We'll squeeze in all we can to help bring you up to speed on all things lacrosse on this week's show.
This week on the OTCBPodcast- we, are, back! It's been a long hiatus thanks to Covid but with the light at the end of the tunnel getting brighter, that means we are in the home stretch to the start of a new NLL season.
So this week, we welcome in the first coach in Panther City franchise history, Tracey Kelusky and, first overall pick in both NLL and PLL entry drafts- Jeff Teast.
Kelusky is a a Hall of Famer that wears his passion and heart on his sleeve. PCLC has already established a foundation after the expansion draft and now has his sights set on Free Agency and the entry draft. We'll get in side his thinking about see if he'll slip up and let any secrets slip.
Teat has been destined for the NLL for quite some time now and while it's been on pause due to the pandemic, there's no doubt he itching to play some lacrosse. Currently he's suiting up for the PLL Atlas and is chomping at the bit to get inside Nassau Coliseum wearing a RipTide jersey.
Plus, Vegas is here, the Hall of Fame is a thing again and Canadian fans will get NLL on TSN all season long. So sit back, relax and enjoy this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we wrap up 2020 with two great guests and two fantastic conversations.
First up, Kyle Devitte from Inside Lacrosse joins us to talk about the biggest news of the week. The PLL buying up the MLL came as a major surprise to everyone and there are still plenty of questions. KD has been covering both MLL and PLL in-depth over the years so he's got a few things to say.
Then the Deputy Commissioner and EVP of Business Affairs, Jessica Berman joins us to recap the 2nd annual Player's Business Summit. Over the last four weeks, the players have been involved in zoom calls to discuss marketing, operations, social media and broadcasting throughout the NLL, giving them a chance to ask any questions they may have.
2020 has been a major gong show, but through it all the Lacrosse Family has been absolutely amazing- so sit back and enjoy the final show on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we welcome the author of the fastest selling lacrosse book this holiday season, Delby Powless.
'Medicine Game' is an eye opening tale of life on the Reservations with main character Tommy Henry as he struggles with being a leader on his lacrosse team, a son, a brother and a boyfriend all while dealing with the pressures of being a young man who feels the weight and darkness of depression.
Powless uses his own experiences as a young lacrosse players to bring you up close and personal with each and every character in the book. A former first overall NLL draft pick, Powless is now a youth counsellor working with the younger generation who are looking to break the stereotypes and enjoy all life has to offer.
Plus Panther City is a thing and we catch up on a months worth of missed news (there wasn't a lot), all that and more on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we're joined by Chet Koneczny and Jamie Shewchuck.
First up, Chet has been living out in the Maritimes for the past few years and has seen first hand the growth of lacrosse on the East Coast. However, we need to do more than just put sticks in kids hands; so along with the Halifax Thunderbirds, Turtle Island Lacrosse, the Black Lacrosse Players Alliance and the Indigenous Players Lacrosse Association they have announced a new partnership to Include and Empower.
Then we'll head to Denver, where Jamie has been living for over a decade. A former 2nd round NLL draft pick by Colorado, Shewy would be named to the NLL's All-Rookie team, en route to an impressive pro career. But after he was done, he wanted to stay involved so one conversation with his GM was all it took to start his broadcasting career.
Some great conversations and stories, plus a lot more on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we welcome in the newly elected President of the PLPA, Zach Currier
Along with his #2 Reid Reinholdt, Currier will now look to lead the Players Union into year 35 with better communication, a willingness to grow and a drive to see the players reach new heights.
It's not going to be an over night switch, nor an easy one- but the players are united together and are already working with the league to get ready for the proposed April start date.
All that and more, on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast, we welcome back our good friend Rich Lisk to the show.
Fully settled into his new home ON Long Island, Lisk and his staff are working diligently through the pandemic in hopes that the league will indeed be playing come April.
An April start means a lot of things for the world of lacrosse- and for the Riptide that may mean a certain college player may be eligible to sign,
But it would also mean crossing over the traditional summer time slot so what happens then? And what will all the players do until April?
We'll talk about all that and more, on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we are joined by the Commissioner of the National Lacrosse League, Nick Sakiewicz.
With the NLL on hiatus since March, Sakiewicz and his staff have been working diligently towards the 35th season in league history. So when can fans expect that season to start? What will it look like? And what about Fort Worth... when will we find out their name?
We have so much to ask him.
Plus, what would a spring start mean to the rest of the lacrosse world? We also talk about the recent PLPA vote, and some untimely tweets mean we still have a long way to go.
All that and more on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we welcome back Adam Levi from The Lacrosse Flash and NLL.com, to help us break down the 2020 #NLLDraft.
After a long 5 hour broadcast in which 93 young men had their names called, Levi has gone beyond the picks to look at some of the stories that we may have missed during our coverage.
Levi brings the heat as always, as we talk about why the #2 pick was so coveted by three western clubs, what were the biggest surprises and who did the best.
All that and more on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we dip into the Inside Lacrosse pool for two great guests, Stephen Stamp and Terry Foy.
Stamp is the NLL's draft Guru and knows pretty much everything there is to know about the top 100 prospects for next Thursday's NLL Draft. We all know Teat is going first overall but after that, it's anyones guess so, we'll see what Stamper has to say.
Foy is the CEO of Inside Lacrosse and has been on the beat covering the Iroquois Nationals saga in relation to the 2022 World Games. In the past week we've see Team Ireland vacate their position for the Nationals as well as a few more hurdles seem to have bene cleared which will allow the torchbearers of our sport to compete at the World Games. So how did it all happen so quickly, and what does it mean for the future?
We break it all down on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we continue our #NLLDraft prospect watch with projected Top5 pick Ryan Smith, and chat with newly appointed VP of Lacrosse Operations and GM of the expansion Fort Worth team Bob Hamley.
Hamley has seen and done nearly all there is to do in the NLL over a 30 year career but now he gets the chance to build his very own team from the ground up, after being named VP of LaxOps and GM down in Fort Worth. He's ready to meet the task head on and knows he doesn't get a mulligan.
Smith has seen his rise up the prospect list steadily grow over the last few years as his game has progressed from Jr C all the way to the NCAA and Sr A ball; now the next step in his journey is the NLL. The impressive power forward, looks to use his size, shot and mental strengths to make an immediate impact once he's done at RMU.
But the biggest story of the week came out late Wednesday and that was when Team Ireland just "did the right thing", and gave up their spot in the 2022 World Games so that the Iroquois Nationals could take their rightful spot amongst the game's best.
All that and more on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we continue to spotlight the top 5 prospects for the upcoming #NLLDraft, with Jeff Henrick.
A former captain of the vaunted Orangeville Northmen, and a 2x captain at OSU, Henrick has future NLL leadership written all over him and a pro-ready game to match.
Plus, more and more American street-free-agents are getting picked up by NLL clubs, with hopes they can make the jump from field to box. Guys like Bernhardt, Carlson, Richard, Van Raaphorst have all signed deals and hopefully it's a sign of the next great wave of Americans in the indoor game.
All that and more, on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we continue our #NLLDraft Prospect Watch with projected top5 pick, Reid Bowering.
The Coquitlam BC product has seen many of his teammates drafted to the #NLL and he's thoroughly excited for the opportunity to join them. He's headed back to Drexel University for his 5th year of eligibility but will also start to work on his MBA.
A three time Captain of the Jr Adanacs, he was part of two Minto Cup winning teams as well as being named BCJALL Defender of the Year three times! He's a two way threat with incredible leadership skills and a very high lacrosse IQ. He can play both sides of the ball and is a 5-tool athlete that every NLL team would love to have.
He won't last long come September 17th but once he's in the NLL, you can expect him to stick around for quite some time.
Plus, while free-agency is slowing down teams still continuing to lock up their talent and get their base roster set as we get close and closer to draft day. All that and more on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we bring you the present and the future of lacrosse.
First up is Tre Leclaire who is an expected top5 pick in next month's NLL Draft. The White Rock, BC native is headed back to THE Ohio State for a 5th year of college but he's extremely excited for his chance to play in the NLL.
Then, it's the PLL Championship Series MVP Zed Williams. After dropping six goals in the final game, helping his Whipsnakes to back to back titles, Williams was gracious, humble and as classy a winner as you could imagine.
Two young men with incredible futures ahead of them; so I hope you can sit back and enjoy the latest episode right here on the OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we welcome back our field lacrosse guru and all round decent dude, Kyle Devitte.
Covering the PLL Championship Series from afar hasn't been easy for any of us but Devitte continues to pump out gold with each key strike. His LacroCity newsletter continually covers the biggest stories in the lacrosse world while adding some harmless humour and creative spins.
But our focus is on the PLL and how they've been able to make the bubble model work for them, all while providing us fans an incredible viewing experience from the comfort of our couches. We talk MVPs, breakout performances, Ryan Boyle's incredible rise to stardom with the telestrator and who he would pick between Rambo and Captain America.
Plus, NLL free agency has been absolutely electric in the first six days- Crawford, Small, Crepinsek, Fryer, Duch, Buchanan and more were all on the move, but so many eyes and ears were on what Jammer was going to do.
We'll break it all down for you and more, on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast, we welcome the newest GM of the New York Riptide, Jim Veltman.
The NLL Hall of Famer has spent some time behind an NLL bench but this will be his first go as a General Manager- needless to say, he's excited for the opportunity. He'll have some very familiar faces running the bench and now it's time to fill out the Tide's roster after a lacklustre expansion season.
As we near the August 1 start to NLL Free Agency, many teams are doing all they can to lock up their UFAs with the Rush being the most active- as they locked up Dilks, Rubisch and Corbeil. But it was a 7 year deal for Rock captain Challen Rogers that stole the headlines.
Plus the PLL Championship Series is underway and boy were there a lot of talking points over the opening five days. We'll also talk about the Ontario Jr A Lacrosse League's plan to allow 22 year old players and the idea of moving away from the CLA; It's a very slippery slope.
All that and more on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we welcome back to the show Brad Self and Kyle Hartzell.
Self was just named the GM of the Mammoth after serving as AGM last year along side Pat Coyle. Trading captain Dan Coates wasn't an easy move but professional lacrosse is a business and sometimes you have to make hard business decisions. However, he's doing all he can to make this team bigger, stronger and faster- with free agency and the NLL draft coming up, there's no rest time for Self.
Hartzell isn't resting either- but that's because he needs to get acclimated to the elevation in Utah. With the PLL Championship series just over a week away, Kyle and the rest of the PLL stars are heading to Utah to see who will be crowned Champion. As dedicated an athlete as you will find, Hartzell works just as hard off the field as he does on. And for those of you who say you will never make it?, Hartzell's path took him through JUCO and DIII before becoming a National and World Champion at the next level.
Plus more NLL transactions as well as the chance to win a custom dyed head from the Lacrosse Flash by signing up for our PLL Bracket challenge. All that and more, on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week. on the OTCBPodcast we welcome The Deputy, Jessica Berman back to the show.
Riding shotgun with Commissioner Sakiewicz, Berman has been very busy working behind the scenes helping the NLL works its way through these unusual times as they prepare for the league's 35th season.
We cover a lot of topics from expansion, a new start date, how her family is dealing with Covid life, her son's mullet and the return of the NLL Hall of Fame; yes, It's coming back!
We'll break down the bizarre trade spree that happened on Monday with a total of four 1st round draft picks moved as well as a Captain and a former Defender of the Year. Plus it sounds like Rich Lisk will announce who will be the new GM and Head Coach of the New York Riptide on Friday.
The wild news week will start and end with a bang, so sit back and enjoy this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we welcome the 2019-2020 #NLL MVP Shayne Jackson to the show,
Having spent his entire NLL career with the Swarm organization, Jackson has ben Mr Consistent over the last eight seasons. Only once has he had less than 60pts in a season, he's played 136 straight games, has an NLL title to his name and now, an MVP trophy.
While some may have been surprised by his win, it should be no surprise that he was humble in his acceptance and made sure to give credit to everyone around him in the Swarm organization.
Plus, the MLL is back for year 20 and the PLL announced their rosters for the #PLLChampionshipSeries. All that and more, on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we welcome back to the show, Zack Greer. Recently named the Comeback Player of the Year in the NLL by the folks at The Lacrosse Flash, Greer was having an incredible rejuvenation in the sunshine of Southern California.
After two injury filled seasons in Denver and a busy life way from lacrosse, Greer opted to take 2019 off. In just 12 games with the Seals, he was on pace for his second highest point total and a career high in assist, it's safe to say the year away from the sport really helped heal his body and motivate him.
Plus the NLL announced some key dates, the draft order and some very important draft eligibility news. All that and more on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we welcome #GoodVictori Boy, Jesse King back to the show.
It's be a rough couple season's for the 3rd overall pick in the 2015 #NLLDraft. After two great seasons in Georgia, King was sent to Calgary and unfairly bit by the injury bug worse than any young athlete should be. He was rehabbing his most recent injury with plans to return to the Roughnecks' when the pandemic shut everything down.
But swooping in to save the day, is the #PLLChrome and King will be suiting up in Utah for the #PLLChampionshipSeries next month in Utah. To say he's excited about the idea is an understatement.
One on one with Jesse King right here on the OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we welcome back Rich Lisk from the New York Riptide and GFSports.
After making the tough decision to leave The Casino for The Island, Lisk had an even tougher decision in relieving GM/HC Regy Thorpe and his coaching staff of their duties.
It won't be easy turning a 1-12 expansion team into a #Premier club in the NLL but with #Passion #Pride and #Promise, Lisk already has a plan in place.
Plus, the #NLLAwards nominees will be announced by the end of June with an online award show to take place in July. The Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame announced it's class of 2020 and the Premier Lacrosse League is going to Utah!
All that and more on this week's #OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we welcome Trevor Baptiste to the show to have a very important and powerful conversation.
What is happening in the United States right now is incredibly hard to watch but at the same time, hearing from Black athletes like Trevor and other People of Colour who have been the focus of racist acts is just as heartbreaking.
Nobody should ever feel scared to stand up for themselves or what they believe in. Never should we have to watch what happened to George Floyd again. Never should we ever feel ashamed to stand along side all our brothers and sisters from the Human Race in solidarity against oppression and systemic racism.
Have the awkward conversations!
One on one with Trevor Baptiste on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we welcome back fan favourite and all-round beauty Gavin Prout.
The guy has nearly as many properties as titles so it's safe to say a life in lacrosse can pay off in the end. Prouter has won 6 of the 8 biggest titles in all of lacrosse; a two time Minto Cup winner with Whitby, a Mann Cup with Brooklin, an FIL and WILC with Canada, he captained Colorado to the 2006 NLL title and that was in the middle of winning three MLL titles with Baltimore, Rochester and Hamilton.
He's seen the highs and lows of professional lacrosse, and has the stories to tell. So sit back and enjoy this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we take a break from 20 questions and welcome the Commissioners from the both the NLL and WLA on to the show, to talk about their status moving forward during these wild and crazy times.
First off, Nick Sakiewicz of the NLL is still hopeful that they can crown a champion for the 2019/2020 season but they are facing two fairly large barriers; the boarder and player Visas. IF and it's a large IF, if they can find a window to play in, the league is working on a few different options with hopes of handing out the #NLLCup.
Next up is Paul Dal Monte from the WLA and unfortunately, the news from the Canadian Summer loop isn't as promising. Earlier in the week both the WLA and MSL (Major Series Lacrosse) announced that they would be cancelling their seasons and there would be no Mann Cup. It'll be the first time in over 100 years a team hasn't lifted the trophy.
Some good news, some bad news and some sad news on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we welcome back the man of style, Kyle Jackson of the Halifax Thunderbirds.
KJ47 has been on the show before but this is the first time as a 'soon to be father'! He and wife Dana found out they will be proud parents of a baby girl in 2021 so we offer a couple name suggestions.
We also talk about 'Coffee with Kyle', his online website where he blogs, vlogs and pods about life in pro sports, being in a relationship and how to stay sane during these wild times amongst other things.
He's gone from a young kid in Sarnia to the Big House in Michigan, the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester and now calls Halifax and The Nest home.
Another wonderful chat that you won't want to miss on this week's #OTCB20in20.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we welcome in, Inspector Cloutier for another edition of 20 in 20.
Chris Cloutier has a knack for lighting the lamp and scoring some real timely goals. Case in point the 9 goals he had vs Loyola in the NCAA tournament, or the OT winner vs Maryland to give UNC their first title since 1991!
However, his rookie season in the NLL was a bumpy one and he only lasted 7 games in Philadelphia before he was traded to the Bandits. "Fit and Fitness" were deemed two of the reasons the trade was made- Cloutier agrees and disagrees with that sentiment.
Since he's arrived in Banditland he's back to his old self, scoring ridiculous goals and playing with all the confidence in the world.
It's another great chat full of laughs and stories about a career in lacrosse that's taken him all across North America. So enjoy 20 (or so) questions with Chris Cloutier on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we continue our 20 in 20 series with the man who scored 'The Goal' 20 years ago this summer, Kaleb Toth.
'We all squeezed the stick and we all pulled the trigger'- sure, a Tragically Hip line from a song about the Toronto Maple Leafs but it's a very apropos line to use when describing the shot from Toth, to lift the Toronto Rock past the Rochester Knighthawks in the 2000 NLL Cup finals.
That was the start of his pro lacrosse career that may have never gotten off the ground had his ECHL coach allowed him to move up to the IHL; hockey's loss was most definitely lacrosse's gain.
Since that goal, 9er went on to become of the most elite players in NLL history, winning a pair of titles for his hometown Calgary Roughnecks and two Mann Cups with the Victoria Shamrocks to go along with his MInto Cups as a member of the Burnaby Jr Lakers.
He has some amazing stories to tell and we get to a bunch of them, this week on the OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast, Jordan Hall - #20 of the Georgia Swarm- joins us for another round of 20 in 20.
Hall, hails from Surrey BC and was one of the best young players in the province while in Intermediate and it helped him land a 4 year scholarship at the University of Delaware. He was a key cog in their 2007 run to the NCAA Final Four and helped the Blue Hens land Curtis Dickson.
Since he's arrived in the NLL though, his game took off to a whole new level. He's a born leader, a natural goal scorer and one of the best teammates you'll find in the game.
Plus, the #NLL had a zoom house-party, the Lacrosse Flash is voting on the Play of the Year, and sadly, we're still without lacrosse. All that and more, on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we bring you another instalment of the #OTCB20in20 with the man the call Superman, Curtis Dickson of the Calgary Roughnecks.
Dickson has been in the league since the Battle of Alberta was a real thing in the NLL, so he's seen a thing or two but he's also scored a few times in those battles so he's definitely plays the villain role very well.
His path to the NLL from Port Coquitlam, BC wasn't the longest or hardest road but four yeas at the University of Delaware really helped take his game to the next level.
We chat about being a Ginger, his moustache, life at Delaware, who his favourite referee is and 'Historical Roadside Attractions of America', all this week on the OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast, we got some sad news. The #NLL has decided to forgo the remainder of the regular season due to the on going Corona Virus epidemic. We all figured this news would come but it doesn't make it any easier to hear.
The Commissioner Nick Sakiewicz joins the show to update us on the latest news, and let the fans know the league is sourcing every option to try and crown a champion in it's 34th season,
Plus another edition of the #OTCB20in20 with Jake Elliott, who's been broadcasting multiple sports for 20 years! We talk about his start behind the mic, advice for aspiring broadcasters, how is father is doing and what its like to be 100LBS lighter.
So sit back, relax and enjoy this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we bring you instalment three of the OTCB 20 in 20.
Joining us is the 20th overall selection in the 2019 NLL Entry Draft, Alex Pace of the Philadelphia Wings. Pace hails from Halifax, NS and having grown up playing all sorts of sports, he's thrilled to see the NLL having success in his home town.
His lacrosse career has gone form the maritimes to St. Catharines where he was a member of the vaunted Double Blue Jr A club, then finally to the NLL playing professional lacrosse. He scored his first pro goal back in January and had April 18th circled on his calendar- that was the day he was set to play pro lacrosse in his hometown.
Hear all about his journey to the City of Brotherly Love and all points in between on this week's 20 in 20, right here on OTCB,
This week on the OTCBPodcast, we're in full lockdown mode due to 'The 19', Bear and I are hangin' in there, and we've got another great guest.
Brad Kri of the Toronto Rock is the second guest to join us for 20 questions as we try and fill the void in lieu of lacrosse, sports and regular day normalcy. The Acton, ON native has a Founders, Minto and Mann Cup titles on his resume and it's allowed him to experience three cities that absolute love the game of lacrosse.
Now he's posted up in the RockPile with a few fellow Rock teammates trying to keep their distance and the fridges stocked.
We talk about his journey in lacrosse, life in Acton, boys trips and why he wears the number 20. So, come relieve some stress as Brad joins me for this week's OTCB 20 in 20 on the OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPocast we look to fill some time during the the unprecedented mid-season pause.
Long time friend of the show, Jacob Ruest is our guest this week as we play 20 Questions with the Mammoth forward. We'll talk college life, conditioning drills, college bars, Moms, Poutine, his hometown and much more.
Its the first edition of the #OTCB20in20 on this week's OTCBPodcast
This week on the OTCBPodcast we are are joined by the Commissioner of the NLL, Nick Sakiewicz as well Colorado Mammoth back-up goalie Tyler Carlson.
Our interview with the Commissioner was recorded 24hrs before the NLL announced the suspension of the season due to the Corona Virus; following suit with most other major professional leagues in North America. So while some of the context is now moot, it allows us a glimpse into the process the league has taken to ensure the health and safety of everyone around the league is at a priority. We also talk a bit about expansion and how the league continues to grow.
Carlson was thrown into action Sunday afternoon when the Knighthawks chased started Dillon Ward from the crease. As a back-up goalie you must always be ready for these situations and TC stole the show, as Colorado came back from a 7-1 deficit to knockoff Rochester 10-8 in one of the best games on the weekend.
We have no idea when the NLL will be back to action but let's hope it's sooner than later. But for now, please enjoy this week's OTCBPodcast
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we check in on the two expansion clubs as their first #NLL seasons are drawing to a close.
First up is Dan Carey, the GM of the Knighthawks who did a wonderful job in both drafts to help his team get off on the right foot. They picked up their second win of the season this past weekend and if not for a few bad bounces they really could have a few more wins under their belt. A big western double-header this weekend will be a very tough test for the young club.
Mitch Belisle has seen his fair share of expansion teams but this year, his perspective is from the broadcast booth doing colour commentary for the RipTide. New York has struggled from the get go this year but they aren't going down without a fight. With six games remaining, this group continues to push their opponents for sixty minutes but one more loss and they're officially eliminated from the post season.
Plus a break down of week 14, a look ahead to week 15 and how do we stop the nets from coming loose from their magnets. All that and more on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we welcome back Brad Self and Callum Crawford.
Self, AGM for the Colorado Mammoth was busy last week orchestrating a trade for Tyler Digby form the Riptide. Digby will bring some much needed size to the Mammoth offence as well as help create some space for his fellow right-handers. Self and his stay may not be done wheeling and dealing before the March 17th trade deadline but don't bet on him trading Dillon Ward.
Crawford and his Black Wolves teammates have two big games this weekend, and cannot afford to look past the Riptide on Friday night. As a long time NLL'er, Crawford has experience the highs and the lows on pro lacrosse but he continues to push himself to be the best player and teammate he can be
We'll break down week 13, set up week 14 and let you in on the trade between the Knighthawk and Bandits. All that and more, on this week's OTCBpodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we welcome back long time friends of the show, Chaka Bainbridge and Billy Dee Smith.
Bainbridge, is one of the #NLL's top regional attornies and represents many of the league's players but it's not such an easy job. He's also one of main cogs in the launching of the new NLL Alumni that has been formed to bring back so many former players to the league.
Smith is one of my all-time favorite guests, players and people to chat lacrosse with. A long time NLL D-man, now he's in charge of the backend for the Halifax Thunderbirds. It's been a faily seemless transition to the coaching ranks but he's still as passionate as ever, even if he's on the bench in a suit and tie.
Plus, we look back at week 12, set up week 13 and marvel at the fact that Calgay has only played three times in 2020. All that and more, on the OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast, we chat with Dane Dobbie and Chris Gill.
Dobbie has been served his six game suspension but it's actually 80+ days since he's been out; needless to say he's chomping at the bit to get back at it. He'll have to wait until next week when the Roughnecks head to Georgia but the reigning NLL MVP is ready to put all this behind him and help the Roughnecks defend their title.
Gill and the Vancouver Warriors have been legit road warriors so far this season with trips to Philly, New England, Rochester and now to Toronto. It's good for team bonding but it also means they're having to be tested by some of the top teams outside their division.
Plus, we break down week 11, set up week 12 and give you a few rather large milestones to keep an eye out for this weekend. All that and more, on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we'll chat week 10, the NLL's inaugural #SinCityShowdown, set you up for week 11 and talk to two amazing men
First up, we welcome back long time friend of the show Bruce Codd from the Toronto Rock. Codd and his D core held Halifax to a season low 9 goals en route to handing them their first loss of the season. We discuss the importance of transition goals, ball possession, guys stepping up and why Zach Manns has been even more impressive than originally hoped.
But it's our conversation with #MILL O.G. Rick Sowell that will keep your ears tuned in. Rick was a pioneer of the black community in the lacrosse world. He only started playing in grade ten but over the next decade, he would become a 2x D3 All-American, the D3 Midfielder of the Year and a 3x MILL All-Pro with the Baltimore Thunder. One of only two black players to every ben named captain of a pro-indoor team and the first black coach in the NCAA D1 Lacrosse. He's an icon, a legend and and incredible human being. As we celebrate Black History Month and it's connection with the game of lacrosse, I hope you'll enjoy our chat.
All that and more on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast, we get you set up for week 10 in the #NLL with Jordan MacIntosh of the Swarm, and Casey Jackson from the Seals. MacIntosh and the Swarm haven't gotten off to the best of starts but as they sit at .500, they're about to embark on a crucial string of games that could really turn their season around. However, we start our conversation talking about the legendary Kobe Bryant. Jackson has been to Las Vegas for Super Bowl weekend before, but this will be the first time he, or anyone, has played an NLL game there at the same time; safe to say he's pretty excited. However, he and all the players from the Seals and Mammoth know that this is a massive game for both teams. Business first, Vegas second. So sit back and enjoy two wonderful chats as we set up week 19 in the NLL right here on the OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast, we break down a wild week 8, which saw both expansion franchises secure their first wins, including Dan MacRae's OT winner for the Riptide. MacRae signed as a UFA in New York after winning a championship in Calgary. Now he's looking to lead this young group in an old school NLL market. Adam Levi is from New York but lives on the west coast, lucky for all of us, it hasn't stopped him from expertly covering the NLL coast to coast. He'll stop by to talk all things NLL. Plus we'll get your set up for week 9 and more on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we double dip for the first time. Zach Manns of the Toronto Rock wanted his good buddy Marshal King of the Calgary Roughnecks to join him on the show this week, so who was I to say no. The two former Jr Shamrocks are having fantastic starts to their rookie seasons in the NLL and their friendship goes long beyond the lacrosse floor. Brad MacArthur made many friends during his tenure in the NLL and now, he's uniting those relationships into the new NLL Alumni Association. Plus we set you up for a wild week 8 in which there are indeed eight games; all that and more, on the OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast we go coast to coast to speak with some of the NLL's best. First up, Cody Jamieson of the Halifax Thunderbirds. Jammer is one of the true ambassadors for our sport and does so with class, professionalism and generational knowledge handed down to him from his elders. Joel McCready has missed almost an entire year due to an achilles injury; but he's back and couldn't be happier to be on the turf with his Vancouver Warrior teammates. Finally, friend of the show Rich Lisk checks in from his new office with GFSports- the parent company of the New York Riptide. It's another great episode, with the wonderful guests and much more, this week on the OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast, we ring in the new with two beauties-
Jacob Ruest of the Colorado Mammoth and Ian Rubel, defensive coach for the Philadelphia Wings. Ruest has been off to an incredible start to the season, just four goals shy of his entire total from last year. He and the Mammoth take on the Warriors in the NLL Game of the Week, Saturday night from Denver.
Ian Rubel never really saw coaching in his future until he was brought on with the St. Catharine's Jr program over a decade ago. Since then, he's been worked his was to be along side two of the NLL's great talents in Paul Day and Tracey Kelusky. Coming off a massive road win in Calgary, the Wings head out to Long Island looking for their first back-to-back since returning to Philly.
Plus a mini recap of a busy week 5, set you up for a quiet week 6 and give you my All-Decade team; right here on the OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast, we welcome Steve Govett and Dallas Eliuk to the show. The San Diego Seals and President Steve Govett announced Monday that the Seals would take on the Warriors in the first ever NLL game outside. It's just another example of how Govett is never satisfied with where the game is currently- always pushing forward. Eliuk was the same way with his playing style. One of the most acrobatic and athletic goalies you will ever see, Dallas is a true pioneer between the pipes. Now working with USBOXLA, Eliuk is helping groom the first wave of youthful American box goalies. Plus wrapping up week 4, setting up week 5 and I make the case for the Black Wolves to be 8-2 by March. All that and more on the OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast, we welcome Brett Hickey of the Philadelphia Wings and Reilly O'Connor of the New England Black Wolves. Hickey missed the final 15 games last year with the Wings, so he's been waiting for Saturday night's season opener for almost an entire year. Can he get back to the 50 goal plateau he hit with the Rock in 2015? O'Connor is in his 4th year with the Wolves and they all believe this to be the year they take the step to become one of the top teams in the league. They'll take on the high-powered Rush Saturday night as both teams look to go to 2-0. Plus Dane Dobbie will serve his full 6 game suspension and are the San Diego Seals taking the NLL outside? All that and more, on this week's OTCBPodcast.
This week on the OTCBPodcast, we'll break down the opening week of the new season which had a little but of everything. Three games in week two will leave us with just the Philadelphia Wings still to play a regular season game. Josh Byrne of the Buffalo Bandits stops by to get us ready for the home-opener in Banditland, plus Tyson Geick from The Lacrosse Flash joins us to talk about a new focus on connecting players to the fans. All that and more, on the OTCBPodcast
This week on the OTCBPodcast, we get you set for the #NLL #FaceoffWeekend as the 2019-20 season is finally here! First up, Pat Coyle- HC/GM of the Colorado Mammoth. First up long time friend of the show, fan favourite and all-round good dude, Mike Poulin of the Georgia Swarm. Poulie is coming of a fantastic summer where he won the Mann Cup and WILC, so he's excited to get back to work with the Swarm. Pat Gregoire has been a long time regular on the show but now he has a new title, Colour Commentator for the Thunderbirds- we couldn't be happier for SPG! Finally, a busy off-season for the NLL from a sports business standpoint as Kevin Morgan, NLL EVP and CRO, has been incredibly active in bringing in new sponsorships for the players and fans benefit. The Vancouver Warriors also kicked off training camp last weekend and colour analyst Brad Challoner was there watching all the action. We are officially a month away from opening weekend, so sit back and enjoy this week's OTCBPodcast.

It's been a busy off season for the Black Wolves and Lisk has been at the centre of it with the NLL Draft and off-season acquisitions. But while he's focused on turning the Black Wolves into a bonafide contender in the newly realigned East division, he's also got a ton of incredible stories to tell about his time working for the WWF. Those experiences have helped him become a more savvy sports business person and in his role as GM in the NLL.
