Small and mid-sized banks lost $120 billion in deposits in just one week as turmoil gripped the regional banking world, according to new Federal Reserve data, while customers sought safer havens at the country's largest financial institutions.
As regional and community banks lost $120 billion during the week ending March 15, the 25 biggest banks raked in $67 billion in new deposits on a seasonally adjusted basis, according to new Fed data released Friday. The net outflow from all banks was $98 billion, an annual drop of 5.8%. Total industry deposits of $17.5 trillion was the lowest count since September 2021.

The answer? Itâs always a good time to invest. In fact, you probably should have invested yesterday. Why? Because every day you invest your money, youâre more likely to earn money on your investments. Thereâs a misconception that investingâs about trying to time the market. That you have to predict the future so you can buy when prices are low and sell when theyâre high. The thing is, no-one can know for sure what the markets are going to do. And thatâs especially true since the outbreak of coronavirus.
Rather than trying to time the market, itâs better to focus on time inthe market. Youâll notice that most investments are described as a medium-to-long-term commitment. How should you invest in Real Estate?
Due to the huge impact from COVID-19, the global economy and Commercial Real Estate Industry are facing great challenges right now. Commercial Real Estate Industry has multiple sectors, such as industrial, retail, multifamily, office and hotel and etc. Therefore, each sector has its own expectation. Currently industrial is the top-performing sector. Made up of warehouses, manufacturing facilities, refrigeration and storage assets, data centers, and other assets. This top-performing situation mainly contributed by the increase in online shopping. It is beneficial to invest in Commercial Real Estate. Investing in CRE has more potential income like 6% to 12% on average. Since industrial properties have more units, the vacancy risk is relatively low. Commercial leases are usually longer than those residential real estate which means property owners would deal with less tenant turnover.
