Sa pagdiriwang natin sa Araw ng mga Bayani, inaalala natin ang mga salita ni Dr. Jose Rizal patungkol sa panahong kanyang nasaksihan. Isang pagpapahayag ng isang katotohanan na ang tunay na pagbabago ay dapat sa puso’t diwa ng isang Pilipino; kung hindi ito mangyayari ay uulit at uulit lamang ang malupit na takbo ng kasaysayan.
Ang Salita ng Diyos ay nagpapahayag na maliban na lamang na tayo ay isilang muli, hindi natin makikita ang kaharian ng Diyos. Itinatakda ang kahalagahan ng isang tunay na pagbabago na tanging Diyos lamang ang makapangyayari. Sa habag at kaawaan ng Panginoon, ibinigay Niya ang Kanyang Banal na Espiritu sa lahat ng nananampalataya sa Panginoong Hesus. Sa Kanya lamang natin matatamo ang katiyakan ng ating kaligtasan, at kalakasan upang mga alagad ng Diyos.
Samahan natin si Pastor Jojo Baldo sa kanyang paglalahad ng Salita ng Diyos patungkol sa Kalakasan ng mga Bayani sa Pananampalataya.

Kamakailan lamang kumalat ang isang internet meme ng isang sikat na Pinoy celebrity na nagsabing “PILIPINAS, BAKIT ANG HIRAP MONG MAHALIN?”Ito ay umani ng iba’t ibang reaksyon sa mga netizens. Ang iba ay sumang-ayon, at gumatong; ang iba naman ay nasaktan sa ganung mga panlalait sa ating bayan.
Marahil ito na ang pambansang libangan nating mga Pinoy: ang mag-debate kung ang Pilipinas nga ba ay kamahal-mahal, o kamuhi-muhi. Marami nang mga pagaaral ang nagawa, at ginagawa patungkol sa isyu ng patriyotismo ng Filipino, o ang kawalan nito.
Subalit ang hindi maipag-kakaila ay ang katotohanan na ang Filipino ay may alab ng puso sa mga isyung patungkol sa ating bayan. Kung atin lamang sisikapin na tingnan ang mga bagay na ito sa pamamagitan ng Salita ng Diyos, baka mas magiging mapayapa, at bukas ang ating pagyakap sa katotohanang ang ating bayan ay biyaya ng Diyos sa ating mga Filipino.
Samahan natin si Pastor Jojo Baldo sa pagaaral ng Salita ng Panginoon patungkol sa ating pinagpalang panawagan na mahalin, itaguyod, at ipaglaban ang ating bayang Pilipinas.

PANAWAGAN SA MGA KALALAKIHAN:
Si Lazarus ay isang lalakeng dati ay kontento nang nagmamasid lamang, nakikinig kay Kristo mula sa malayo. Palaging may distansya. Sapat na sa kanya na ang mga babaeng kapatid na sina Martha and Mary ang maalab sa pagsisilbi kay Hesus. Si Lazarus ay isang tipikal na lalakeng may pag-aalinlangan sa pagpapakita sa kanyang pagmamahal sa Diyos.
Hanggang siya ay nakaranas nang muling pagkabuhay. Hanggang sa matanggap niya ang grasya ng Panginoon na Siyang bukod-tanging nakapagbigay sa kanya ng pangalawang pagkakataon.
Nagbago hindi lamang ang kanyang pananaw sa buhay at kamatayan, ganun din ang kanyang pagyakap sa regalo ng Diyos sa kalayaang makalapit sa Panginoon. Ang kanyang buhay ay naging maging makapangyarihang patotoo sa kadakilaan ng pag-ibig ng Diyos. Mula noon, wala nang makapigil kay Lazarus na dumikit kay Kristo, at ipamalas sa marami ang kanyang binagong buhay.
Ang panawagan sa mga Lazarus ng henerasyon na ito ay patuloy na umaalingawngaw. Ang Panginoon ang tumatawag sa bawat Lazarus na “lumabas, at lumaya!”
Samahan natin si Pastor Jojo Baldo sa kanyang paglalahad ng Salita ng Diyos, na Siya nating buhay, at muling pagkabuhay.

Lost people matter to God and they ought to matter to us too. That's the reason why Jesus sent His Holy Spirit because we cannot do it alone. He wants His people empowered to finish the great Commission to make disciples of ALL Nations. God is calling you and me to not just be a witness but an empowered witness for Christ!

A former boss once sarcastically blurted in our office: "You can take Jojo Baldo out of Samar, but not Samar out of Jojo Baldo". My officemates mockingly laughed, but I stood unaffected. I am secure in my waray-waray identity, and the condescension of some could not bring my confidence down. My Visayan heritage is rich, and God loves my linguistic group — thick accent and all😊.
The same thing could not be said about the Israelites however, after their Exodus from Egypt. Four centuries of exposure to the polytheistic culture of a foreign nation did serious damage to their souls — individually, and as a race. Their rootedness in the God of Israel needed to be rediscovered. They came out with broken identity, shattered hearts, and disoriented thoughts. The Lord had to take them through the road to wholeness, so that once again they could love the Lord, their God, with all their hearts, souls, and might.
HEAD. HEART. HAND. The Lord is the rebuilder of our broken lives, and He has a Word for you today.

A blessed day to everyone. Today is the culmination of our Church's preaching series: THE GOD OF THE BIBLE. We have come to know more about God through the expositions we made through each book and today we will see how He is the GOD WHO MAKES ALL THINGS NEW.
Today we will culminate with the book of Revelation. Most people fear this book because it reveals what will happen in the end times and the second coming of Christ. But as Christians, we need not to be afraid for we know God will create something new for He is the Beginning and the End, the Alpha and the Omega. Be blessed by today's preaching.

Happy Father's day to all the fathers within our fellowship! Today, Pastor Leo Peralta will exposit on the book of Jude, the penultimate book of the Holy Bible.
Jude has written briefly but lays out a warning to the reader: to be wary of false teachers and heretics within the church. These people have snuck from within to destroy the truth, but having a firm stand and connection with God gives us the discernment to identify which of these are truth. May everyone be blessed by today's teaching.

"The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth". This is the call to clarity in these legal courtroom utterances. When a witness is found to be lying, he will be charged with perjury. The court, if it will be a source of true justice can only receive the truth. Anything else that falls short of truth is unacceptable.The epistle of 2 John emphasizes the importance of truth. Only the truth sets free, so the truth must be well guarded in the face of massive deceptions, and systematic attempts to dismantle and disable its faithful declaration.
But this truth must be spoken in love, and through love. You might have the corner of truth, but if it is bereft of love, we are mere "empty gongs or clanging cymbals".

What has been the most challenging test of faith you have experienced? How were you able to keep the faith to persevere?
In Christian history, many of the forerunners of the faith were tested to the limits of their loyalty to Christ. They must have wrestled with the dilemma as to whether staying on in the faith was worth all the sufferings and sacrifices. Why hold on to the tenets of Christianity, when conforming with the majority opinion can prove to be an easier way to be freed from oppression? Why not rather stay “below the radar” so as not to attract any attention? Is there really a need to live out my Christian faith? Can’t it be a private thing between me and God?
The Book of Hebrews was addressed to the Hebrew-Christian believers who were going through the furnace of suffering because of their conversion to the ways of Christ. It was intended to remind them of how greater Jesus is than anything, or anyone else, even greater than the other long-held pillars of the Hebraic faith. Jesus is the sure foundation and the firm path on whom they stand and draw their security.
This is the same voice from the Word of God that reaches out to us, especially in these times of turbulence brought by the post-pandemic world, the election fever, and the unceasing spiritual battles that the believers face every moment. We find our solace and sabbath in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Philemon is the shortest of the letters written by the Apostle Paul. In it he writes to Philemon, a disciple of his whose life he has seen transformed.
Just like how Paul's life was transformed by God, he has seen the same happen to Philemon so let us be the kind of discipler who helps a person grow into the knowledge and direction of the Lord.

Have you ever thought what would be your last few words to your loved ones when your life's end will have drawn near?
As emotional as this question might sound for some, it is also tricky. No one knows when will life's end come. Therefore no one is certain when will those moments of "last few words" be.
2 Timothy was written under those circumstances. The Apostle Paul had this gnawing feeling that the good fight had already been fought, and the end of the race already had come. So he wrote to his child in the faith, a young pastor named Timothy. The epistle was the valedictory address of a saint who for more than three decades contended for the faith, travelled the great distance, and overcame unspeakable odds, just to be faithful to the Lord Jesus who commissioned him.
The spiritual truths in these pages still speak volumes to the present-day sojourners. May it speak to your heart and soul as well.

Have you experienced being told that you are "loved", but afterward you were made to feel that you were not enough; and that you needed to behave a certain way, and dress, and talk in certain ways, before you could truly be deemed worthy of that "love"? That must have been heartbreaking!The Galatian Christians were being deceived by the enemies of the faith to believe that Jesus was not enough. They were being "bewitched" to reject the true gospel of God's love, and were being led to strictly adhere to the Jewish laws for them to be made "more acceptable" to God. The Apostle Paul rebuked, corrected, and reminded the believers that the Gospel of Christ has set them free, and they should not allow anyone to deceive them to embrace again the yoke of slavery. God's love has made them whole!

In the book of 2 Corinthians, Paul writes to the church in Corinth a lesson in humility. We should learn in emptying ourselves, because we will experience the grace of God as He fills us up with blessings. St. Augustine of Hippo wrote in his book, Confessions, that for quite some time he would lift a wayward prayer that went "Lord, make me chaste and pure - but not yet..." Nimrod and Abraham are two names that stand out in the post-Noahic-flood world. Both are aware of the second chance the world has been given. Both are gifted and influential. On his second missionary journey, the Apostle Paul came to Corinth to preach the Word of God and established a church there. Now, just a few years later, he was receiving questioning letters and reports of problems. The church was troubled with division, lawsuits between believers, sexual sins, disorderly worship, and spiritual immaturity.The Apostle Paul wrote his 1st letter to the Corinthians to correct them, answer their questions, and instruct them in several areas. He warned them not to be conformed to the world, but rather, to live as godly examples, reflecting godliness in the midst of an immoral society. This letter was intended to restore the Corinthian church to its foundation - Jesus Christ.

The book of Romans was personally written by the Apostle Paul to prepare the Church in Rome for his visit. Happy 31st Anniversary Lighthouse!
The bond that has kept us all these years is LOVE. As God is Love, so have we been soaked in, and filled by it. From its overflow, we are enabled to bless, serve, and touch others for God's glory.
Today we look at the Gospel of John, the "disciple whom Jesus loved". The Apostle John was so infilled by the Spirit to speak of this greatest power. From the foundations of eternity, God has sustained us with His love, and in the fullness of time, God revealed the fullness of His love through Jesus, His Son. "In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind."
(John 1:4).
So we march on, Lighthouse family. We abide in the Vine that sustains. We obey the Lord who is worthy of our utmost service. We stand as one, in honor of the One who gave it all for us.

A wonderful day to everyone! Today, we would be looking at the gospel account written by Luke.
If you would observe the writings of Luke, you'll see that his accounts of Jesus were very specific given that he was a Doctor and was writing for a friend who was a gentile. In his writings, Jesus himself declared that he came as a servant willing to spread about the knowledge of God as well as healing the sick from town to town. He did not consider himself equal to God but he took on the very nature of a servant, but when he was raised from the dead, Jesus became a king for a kingdom that is not of this world.

We are all for story lines where good trumps bad, and the hero emerges unscathed despite the number of enemies he had to face. What we forget though is the more common plot where the hero suffers much so that the greater number of people shall be set free.
This is the twist of the gospel of Jesus. "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
(Mark 10:45)
The Messiah had to suffer and die, for the rest of us to enjoy the gift of eternal life. This gospel core message has been the subject of people's unbelief, even adversarial reactions toward the message of Jesus.
"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."
(1 Corinthians 1:18)

As the proverb goes ‘Old habits die hard.’ Free to return to Judah, and to Jerusalem, after the decree of Cyrus the Great, the Jews – who had languished in Babylon for 70 years – returned home in three waves: The first wave returned with Zerubbabel ca. 538BC; the second wave returned about 80 years later, under the leadership of the Priest Ezra, in 458BC; and the third wave, under the leadership of Nehemiah, sometime between 446-444BC.Construction on the Second Temple was abandoned soon after it was begun and was only resumed in response to the prophetic ministries of Haggai and Zechariah. Worship in the Temple was restored, but in time, old habits returned to ruin society, and pose a threat to Israel’s future life in the Promised Land.
The LORD called the Prophet Malachi to preach and prophesy at such a crucial time when a corrupt priesthood, and a complacent people had turned the Worship of the LORD in His Sanctuary into a mockery, reducing it to empty rite, and meaningless ritual with their selfishness, greed, and reluctance.
Join us today, as we turn our attention to the Book of Malachi, heed the words of the Prophet to a people long ago, embrace his admonition, repent, and be restored to the LORD, Who alone is worthy of glory, honor, dominion and power, now and forever.

The Book of Zechariah is set after the return of the exiles from Babylon to Jerusalem. Zechariah and Haggai (Read Ezra 5.1-2) challenged and motivated the people to rebuild the temple. The Prophet Jeremiah prophesied that the exile of Israel would last for 70 years (Jeremiah 25.1-14) and the LORD Almighty would restore His presence to a new temple and bring His kingdom and the rule of the Messiah over all the nations.
As Zechariah encourages the people of Israel to rebuild the temple of the LORD, we see how God works to rebuild His people if they are faithful to the God of Israel and to their covenant. As we get to know more about the God of the Bible, may we experience His presence in our lives that He is rebuilding from ruins back to life.

This ancient empire of Assyria had developed an elaborate doctrine of cruelty, the sole purpose of which was to gain such a strong foothold in their enemies’ hearts – a foothold of fear!
Nahum was the prophet commissioned by God to pronounce judgment to a nation that He once spared, through the prophet Jonah’s preaching to the people of Nineveh, Assyria’s capital. But their evil deeds persisted and had reached its summit, and the Lord’s vengeance was upon them for the deaths they brought to God’s people.
Our comfort is drawn from the truth that God will not forever tolerate evil. He is the valiant warrior that wages war against the forces of evil, and ultimately avenges His people. He truly is a refuge to those who put their trust in Him.
Friend, when life is an overwhelming struggle against the darkness brought by death and the torturous heckles of the evil one, may we run to God and take refuge under His powerful hand. The Lord Jesus defeated Satan as He triumphed over death itself. He is our exalted Savior who is coming again to establish His everlasting kingdom amongst us, His people. All these pains will one day cease, and the glory of our soon-coming King will know no end. Be comforted by this truth.

The prophet Micah lived in a society of the less fortunate, the lowly, the outcasts, and the afflicted that is why much of his prophecy is directed towards the unfaithful leaders of the nation in order for true justice to be served. When the Israelites were languishing in Egypt, the LORD God called Moses to deliver them, "for I have seen the misery of my people.. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers.." (Exodus 3:7)
God's heart is roused by the cries of the oppressed. His heart is provoked by the callousness of the oppressors.
The prophet Amos was raised by God to confront a generation which was oppressing their own. The Kings walked in evil ways; the priests were complacent; evil people did vile things to the poor and the voiceless.
God would not be quiet in the face of such systemic evil.
From then 'til now, God raises people like Amos, who will bear the burden of being an advocate for those who are yoked by the spirit of oppression.

The Lord pronounced judgment to Judah, and the Babylonians came, and the exile began. But the Judahites still did not get it. They continued to rebel against God, and their hearts were so far away from Yaweh.
So the Lord sent the prophet Ezekiel to speak to those in exile to remind the people of the serious effects of their sins and disloyalty toward God. He also spoke of the heavenly visions he saw, if only for the Judahites to be assured that God is in the midst of their sufferings, and that restoration would come to the faithful remnant. In all these, the message from God was clear: "And they will know that I am the Lord".
What is the Spirit saying to the church today, in the light of these lockdowns, and COVID variants, and economic dislocations? Could it be that the Lord is drawing us back to Him, so that we "will know that He is the Lord?"

Nearing the twilight of his reign, we find King David preparing the nation of Israel for his successor. Tension filled the air as personalities claim the throne for themselves. Ultimately, we see the hand of God at work - the God of Israel moving actively to anoint the next king.
In today's preaching, Pastor Mackie will be sharing to us that despite this changing of the guard, God remains to be a constant figure. His promises to David were the same promises He made to Solomon and are available to us today.
The LORD God says through the Prophet Isaiah: ‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth is My footstool’ [Isaiah 66.1]. But, God is Spirit and as such we do not think of God’s throne as a literal throne, even if Isaiah had a grand vision of the LORD God ‘…high and exalted, seated on a throne…’ [Isaiah 6.1]. When we speak of God’s throne, we understand to be the place of power and authority from where the LORD reigns in sovereign majesty, power authority, righteousness and justice. The Prophets understood that even if an earthly king -good or wicked - ruled over Israel, the LORD was their King forever. Of the kings that reigned well, two stand out – David and Josiah.
Today, as we continue to preach through the Books of the Bible, Pastor Sam will be leading us in a reflection of an important season in King David’s life when he desired to build God a temple but, to his surprise, finds out that the LORD has other wonderful plans, for him, his family, and the throne of Israel.
