In this episode, we're revisiting a fan-favourite (episode 108) with the wonderfully unique Meg Lewis, who's rewriting the rules of what it means to build a creative career.

Meg proves you don't have to choose just one path. As a designer, comedian, performer, and educator (yes, even a clown! 🀑), they've built an incredible brand by being fearlessly themselves. Their magnetic personality has attracted major clients like Adobe, Pinterest, and Slack – all because they refused to fit into just one box.

Get ready to revisit an honest chat about why "niching down" might be holding you back, and how embracing your full creative self is actually your biggest strength. If you've ever felt pressured to pick just one creative path, this is your reminder to think bigger about what's possible when you embrace all of who you are!

Feeling a bit uncomfortable with all those year-in-review posts showing up everywhere, filled with impressive numbers and massive launches? I totally get it. As artists and makers, our growth looks different – the real magic often happens in moments that don't fit neatly into a spreadsheet.

In today's episode, I'm sharing a different approach to year-end reflection that will actually feel good and capture the true evolution of your creative business. We'll explore how to celebrate progress that matters, uncover insights that will shape your future, and make this reflection process feel fun and exciting.

We're focusing on three key areas: your creative growth, brand development, and community building. I'll walk you through specific questions for each area that will help you reflect in a way that feels authentic to who you are as a creative.

If you're ready to review your year in a way that celebrates all kinds of progress – not just the numbers – then this episode is gonna help you do just that.

To help you go-deeper, I've got something special for you: a free Notion workbook to guide you through this reflection process. Just head to bit.ly/creativeyearinreview to grab yours and make this process actually feel good!

You know what I admire even more than a creative chasing their passion and launching a business?

A creative who knows when to spot the signs that it’s time to hit pause - or even pull the plug - when their business isn’t serving them anymore and getting back to the basics of creating purely for the love of it. That’s the real magic!

And in this episode, we’re talking about just that with my guest, Kassy King.

Kassy is a multidisciplinary creative, total arts-and-crafts dabbler, and a big-time fan of colour and upcycling. She ran Kassy King Designs until early 2024 when she decided to close up shop to focus on finding that sweet spot between work and life.

Today, we’re diving into the good stuff: how to know when you’re ready to hire a branding designer, why a cohesive brand is a game-changer for your creative biz, the not-so-glamorous side of hosting workshops, and how to tap into your local community.

Plus, we’ve got tips for collaborations, landing magazine features, and figuring out when it’s time to close your creative business - and what life looks like afterwards.

Today I have the pleasure of speaking with the extremely talented illustrator, Eliza Williams of Doolittle Illustrations.

In this episode, Eliza shares her journey as an illustrator and talks about her experience going viral on Instagram, ending her up on the wrong side of the platform and having her account removed (don’t worry - she got it back!).

She shares her thoughts on creating a community, not a following, and why she believes that connection is at the core of all of her greatest successes.

Eliza also shares her experience of doing an art residency in Japan, her collaboration with Spotify, and some awesome little nuggets of wisdom for creatives from her own experiences.

Look, as a creative running a business, you already have 1001 things to do. What you don’t need to be spending your time doing is re-writing the same thing 100 times when it’s not necessary. But we often do. We have to apply for something and find ourselves trying to come up with a bio that makes us sound amazing for the millionth time. Or we go away and have to slap together an out of office message that magically directs people to the right places at the last minute. Or we get an Instagram DM from someone asking a question that we’ve answered before but never saved so we’re typing it out letter by letter because we’re a lovely person.

It’s tiring work but it has to be done, right?!

Yes, but it can be done differently. Easily. More efficiently. And I’m gonna show you how!

This week on the Brand Your Passion Podcast, we're revisiting one of the most popular episodes of the podcast ever, all about how you can use your brand strategy.

A brand strategy document is your go-to guide and reliable roadmap for your brand. I’m a massive advocate for how it can help you build an aligned brand that can grow, scale and achieve your wildest creative business dreams.

Your brand strategy is more than just a static document though. It’s a living, breathing, collaborative guide that changes over time as your business does.

Building a brand can be a challenge, but it can be a little bit easier when you can learn from the people who have been there before you. The people who have tried things, made mistakes, had successes, and learnt lessons that they can pass on to others.

Over the past three years I’ve interviewed so many amazing professional creatives about their journeys and asked a bunch of them what the biggest lesson they’ve learnt about branding their passion was. In this episode I’ve compiled them all together so that you can hear them all in one place when you need a dose of inspiration, motivation, or ideas for what to do next.

This week on the Brand Your Passion Podcast, we're revisiting one of the most popular episodes of the podcast ever! In this one, I talk to Ariel Bissett, a writer and filmmaker based in British Columbia who hosts multiple podcasts, runs an annual readathon called The Reading Rush, and has a YouTube channel with almost 200,000 subscribers, among many other creative endeavours.

She has spoken at VidCon, premiered videos at Buffer Festival, was an official Man Booker Prize Vlogger, has appeared in the New York Times, Variety, HuffPost, and Forbes, and has interviewed the likes of Michelle Obama, Bill Gates, and Margaret Atwood.

In this episode we talk about following your gut when it comes to your brand, creating authentic content that you love to make, finding a new audience when your brand shifts, and the controversial topic of not having a logo for your brand. We also get an exclusive story about how Ariel chose her brand font in the most hilariously on-brand way possible.
