Gems from the Qur’an

Through reciting the Qur’an and reflecting upon the meanings and lessons contained therein, stemming from the understanding that Allah intended, delivered by His Prophet and the succeeding first generations then applying them in our lives we become better slaves of Allah. It is for this purpose, ‘Taddabur’, understanding, reflecting and translating into action, inward and outward that the Qur’an was revealed.

“(It is) a Book We have revealed to you abounding in good that they may ponder over its verses, and that those endowed with understanding may be mindful.” (Qur’an 38:29)

Approaching the Qur’an with such sentiment is how one becomes from the greatest of Allah’s servants. 'Uthman bin 'Affan (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (S) said, "The best amongst you is the one who learns the Qur'an and teaches it." (Bukhari)

Main Aim of GFTQ

To reignite the connection with the book of Allah, and to nurture greater love and understanding of his speech and its timeless and indispensable message. It attempts through this to enhance our ability to better worship and venerate Allah in the 21st century.

How this will be achieved

1) Sharing regular ‘Gems’, in the form of snippets of Qur’anic Tafsir, or its clear meaning, as elucidated by the Prophet and the earliest generations

2) Sharing and discussing ‘reflections’ both applicable, intriguing and inspiring, as well as scholarly statements in the past for our own benefit, and for sharing far and wide across the whole world to show to all of humanity the message that was also sent to them!

3) Utilising the different platforms this group run Qur’an-related quizzes and interactive sessions to engage our audience!

What we hope you will take away:

1) Sound and beneficial gems that can be applied in our day to day lives to benefit ourselves, families, communities and the entire Ummah.

2) A closer connection with the One Who spoke these words, Allah the All Mighty.
