Dear Waukee CSD Families,Welcome to the first issue of Crozier’s Chronicles! This is our monthly newsletter to keep all families informed with the latest updates, news, and celebrations from around our District. It’s hard to believe, but the first day of school is just around the corner. As we gear up for another great school year, here are a few important reminders.1. Teacher assignments and class schedules will be available on Aug. 14. For your convenience, this year we’ll send your student’s information directly to you! You will receive a notice that morning (via text, email, and/or ParentSquare app notification, depending on how you’ve set your preferences). That same day, you can also log into your PowerSchool account to see your student’s details. 2. Please note the bell times for this year:

  • Grades TK-5: 8:50 a.m.-3:40 p.m. (no change)
  • Grades 6-8: 7:40 a.m.-2:40 p.m.
  • Grade 9: 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Grades 10-12: 7:50 a.m.-2:50 p.m. (no change)
  • Attendance is essential to learning, and we encourage you to make school a priority. However, if your student will miss school for any reason, please let the school know as soon as possible. A student may have two health-related absences in a quarter without providing a doctor’s note. Learn more about our absenteeism policy and illness guidelines. If you have any questions, email us at info@waukeeschools.org. Enjoy the rest of your summer!Sincerely,Dr. Andy CrozierSuperintendent

Safety and SecurityHelp Us Protect Our PlaygroundsWe invest resources to provide safe, well-maintained playgrounds for our students, and we need your help protecting them. Recently, we’ve experienced several incidents of vandalism and damage to playground surfaces, including two newly installed areas.Wheels are not allowed in our playgrounds to protect these surfaces from damage and burnout marks. District security cameras monitor our facilities, and incidents of vandalism are reported to local law enforcement. Repairs take time (which may lead to the playground area being temporarily closed) as well as taxpayer dollars that could otherwise be used to support our students. Please talk to your students about respecting school property and help us keep our playgrounds in great condition!
